"I'm not big on racing games" is beginning to become my mantra it seems. Maybe if racing games appealed to me more I might vote for Burnout here, but even in that scenario it's unlikely. Why? Because it's facing Super Mario Brothers.

Basically what X said, Burn Out 3 was a neat little game and was a fun racing game. But I'm more into the hardcore customization racing games like the Midnight Club series where I can sit there and go OCD over creating a vehicle for well over an hour. I like to nitpick so that everything looks juuuuuuuust right so at least I look good when I start racing like shit.

And how could it honestly compete against a game like Super Mario Bros? It ain't possible, it is a classic game that has stood the test of time and I enjoy throwing it on the emulator at times to just run through it again.

I actually quite like racing games, but Burnout was nothing groundbreaking. It was pretty fun, but not on the same level as a game like Mario. It's one of the best classic games of all time. Burnout 3 was pretty much a flash in the pan.

Seriously though, this was actually a tougher choice for me than it was for X. Sure, it is Super Mario brothers. Sure, it may be the greatest game to ever grace my tiny little world and sure, it just might be the best game ever. However, I love Burnout, especially 'Takedown'. The problem with Burnout is that it will never be able to overcome the legend that this game has created in the years that it has been around.

Burnout is a decent series of games and this comes form someones who really enjoys racing games. I swear to God is Project Gotham was in this tournament *Goes to make sure only to find out that it isn't* I would vote for that every fecking time. Wait! How could you guys put Burnout in and not PGR3 or 4!? Aw well, it's no big deal. Anyway, Burnout is a good game but Super Mario bros. is fucking Super Mario bros. No way could I vote against it for Burnout anyway.

I would probably vote against Super Mario, as he only knows five moves, fire Ball, go down tunnel, duck, jump and slide.

But he is a multi time champion, and sure he is for the kids, but I have nothing wrong with that. The PG-Bit era was good.

But I will not vote like a smark. Burn Out 3 is just one of those heel games that isn't doing what it is supposed to. People love it too much, and it doesn't get the right reaction.

That being said, I dont think the entire family would go see Burnout 3, while I wouldn't be opposed to taking my younger cousins down to the Dark World of Super Mario Bros..

Where I really enjoyed Burnout 3 and Burnout being my fav racing game series outside of Mario Kart. Mario Bros is the undisputed champion of original game play.

I still even play it today and the worst part is, I haven't completed yet! That's how much I enjoy it, it's so good that I might have not even beat the bastard, but I will always come back to try again. No brainer, Mario goes through!

Mario all the way on principle alone. Don't get me wrong, I play takedown every now and then, but i'll play mario more so than that. Mario raised me, and for a while, even I thought that I could blow shit up with fireballs. Obviously, that is not the case, sadly.

Mario fireballs this round to kingdom come.

Love Burnout. Bar none it's my favorite racing game ever. But it's going against fucking Super mario Brothers. That game was so difficult even though it looks so fucking simple. I even still play it today whether it be on my computer or my nes. I love Super mario bros, and it gets my vote.

Mario has another easy round here. Burnout was a piss poor racing game I wouldn't put it in the top ten racers whereas Mario is probably in my top ten of all time.Burnout burns out here and Mario Stomps a Goomba and spins a shell into the car before bouncing a fireball down burnouts throat.

I mean, for god's sake it's Super fucking Mario Bros.! It revolutionized platformers, helped prevent videogames from dying completely, has been remade countless times, spawned tons of sequels and spinoffs, and has infiltrated pop culture! On top of all that, it's a damn good game.

I'm a mario mark, therefore mario goes over here. I still have this game and i love it. It made mario(that and SMB3 and SM64). Burnout is a good series tho. I love the fact that you can crash cars and all that, but this is mario, and this is one of the best games in the genre( i love almost every mario game lol).

Burnout 3 didn't have a chance here, SMB had this match won as soon as the thread was created. It's a shame that racing games aren't as appealing as other gaming genres on this forum, the Burnout series is solid and Burnout 3 is a great game. The vote I'm giving it isn't out of pity... I would have voted for it anyway considering that I found it to be more entertaining than Super Mario Bros (though SMB is a great game in its own right).
