Brilliant wrestler, he really was "the man you love to hate" and one of the first true heels. He is the guy I'd like to see represent British wrestling in the WZT rather than Shirley 'Big Daddy' Crabtree.

The Sun reckons his fights outdrew the cup finals. Not sure about that one but great if true.

Brings back memories, used to watch him on World of Sport. And I never knew about this

So passionate were some spectators that after a match in Chatham, Kent, where he characteristically cheated to win, the audience were invited to submit formal witness statements to a supposed official hearing into the bout.
