Ever do Kollision in Korea? I didn't even know that was a thing (never read Eric Bischoff's book, my loss there), but I heard about it while (dork warning) studying power transfers in North Korea. Victor Cha has a slightly different opinion of a professional wrestling event than one that I might find here.

I did watch the Ric Flair vs. Antonio Inoki match, and laughed pretty hard when Eric Bischoff talked about meeting the "President of Korea", without specifying which one. If you understand the related Korean tensions, it's kind of a Jane Fonda moment.

The longstanding policy of both North and South Korea is that they are not separate countries, but one country which is half-occupied by an illegitimate power. (South Korea views the North as illegitimate, and vice versa.) So referring to "North Koreans" or "South Koreans" is always colored by shades of meaning when you're discussing amongst a Korean audience. They are all "Koreans".

When this gets kinky is when you refer to leadership. Since both countries view themselves as the rulers of Korea, you can't refer to "the president of North Korea", because that would imply that he has no authority over a separate "South Korea". (They are referred to separately in the United Nations, and that diplomatic spat only took around forty years to resolve.) If you and I were to say, "the president of North Korea", we'd know exactly what we were referring to. If you were to say that to a North Korean representative, you would literally provoke an international incident.

So it would be understandable for Eric Bischoff to refer to the "president of Korea" while he was in North Korea- except the announce track for this was taped months later!

WWE Raw: May 12th, 2008?

I'll put it on my list.

I only requested to see if your scathing wit had come on, it has. Good man.

Ok KB I've had a question for you I've wanted to ask about wrestling that I haven't for fear it sounding dumb.

What would happen if a guy tapped out during the 5 second period he has when holding the rope for a rope break? Has this happened before, and what was the result?

Your FIRST POST to me outside of the Prison and you do it in the wrong thread.

I'm chuckling to hide my soul dying a bit.

I just went onto your review site and saw you hadn't done one SD episode that I would like to see you do. So, my request is for you to possibly do the June 27, 2002 episode of SD. You probably know why.;)
