RE: TNA's Funding

Dowdsy McDowds

Sally was here
Apologies if someone has made a thread on this already, but I came across the article, 'Report: TNA Funding Limited...' and thought to myself, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Here's the article http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/art...-limited-might-prevent-talent-signings-116113

A common complaint I've read regarding TNA is the amount of wrestlers they have on their roster and many not being used properly. If this report is correct (not saying it absolutely is) then maybe this is one of those behind-the-scenes things that can be beneficial to them.

Now I know next to nothing about Janice Carter, but I can't help but think that putting her in charge of looking after the financial side could allow for some better continuity in TNA. What I mean is if they indeed can't bring Matt in, then they are going to have to follow through with the talent they have which could mean good things for guys like Pope and Matt Morgan who are on the verge of solidifying themselves in the ME.

Any thoughts on this?

LOL, like everything posted about TNA's finances I'll take my usual stance of, until there's proof it's a crock of shit cooked up by Meltzer. Seriously, has he ever been right about TNA? If I compiled a list of instances in which Meltzer and those other Wrestling Observer shills post "articles" about TNA that ended up being completely wrong I'd probably break the 100 mark with ease. Article is trash.

It said Dixie's mum is in charge of funding. That doesn't say that they're in financial trouble it just means Dixie's mum has to approve where money goes so it doesn't go any old place, therefore keeping them more financially stable. This is a good thing as Dixie did seem to have a fetish for bringing in countless people that are hardly used well (Kendrick) or people who can't contribute (Nasty Boys, Hall etc)

Here is how you know this is BS because they are the same place that reported a while back TNA was going to be making HUGE cuts to their wrestling and management roster and then they ended up adding EV2 for 4 months.

Also and this is the big one they will now turn around and use Eric Young, Rhino, Sabu, Kevin Nash, and a few others to back their story. I find it a little convenient that this story would break when TNA is actually releasing wrestlers they should release.

i agree it maybe a blessing think if they would cut the rosters down which would free up cash? sorry but if this is true tna may be screwed

Bingo. TNA money is reported to be tighter than ever but they just signed Mickie James, Katie Lea and re-signed Team 3D and looking to sign more talent for the company. How is that possible?

Metlzer and Alverez are a disgrace to the wrestling business. They would just love TNA to fail.

This is what I see as the benefit if the report does turn out to be true. Since the 4th of January, as well as before that, there have been too many new additions and releases to keep their undercard (outside of the tag division) interesting for long enough.

3 of the replies so far have been doubtful as to the validity of the source which I'm not arguing with, but my general point is IF it is true, and if TNA stop signing free agents for the sake of it and then have them do little after their arrival, surely this would help them produce better storylines and give the wrestlers they have just now more confidence that they are being given a fair shake?
