Everyone likes Samoa Joe. I assume he'll be a face this match? Oh, wait. Everyone is chanting for Kobashi. This'll be interesting when psychology comes into the picture.
Unless you were intending to somehow imply that face vs. face matches can't have psychology, I'm not sure why you allowed yourself to post these sentences. Then again, I just woke up. I'm probably dazed and confused.

I don't like him. Very boring.

Yeah you've never even seen a Kobashi match. You don't know what you're talking about. The man is one of the greatest professional wrestlers to ever live.

So yeah, I'm waiting Razor. I literally analyzed just about every single spot in that match just for you. I believe I've thoroughly debunked all of your points.

I was giving a legitimate play by play. By the end of the match I realized that Joe was doing a face vs. face with Kobashi, but what I posted was what I thought as each spot came up.

I know you didn't give the matches a chance because you over analyze everything. No match is ever perfect, maybe close to it, but not completely perfect. Can't you watch a match and try to enjoy instead of looking for something wrong in everything the wrestlers do?

Not every match is perfect? But Xfear submitted it as a unimpeachable account of a perfect indy match. And besides, that match wasn't all that good. Joe is a bitch at selling.

You're watching this matches so at least you're willing to watch but you don't give them a chance because you've already made your mind up on them. You think they are going to be shit so you go to the extreme about the match and point out something wrong in everything they did...I'm not saying you're not a pro wrestling fan or a lesser fan because of what you did, but would it hurt you to watch a match and actually try to enjoy? I know you'll probably say you do but for some reason I highly doubt that. I have honestly never before seen someone that does what you did.

Did you read my last paragraph? It obviously said that I didn't think the entire match was bad. It was Joe's selling. I can't enjoy a match if the entire story is built around a chop that Joe refuses to sell half the time.

Okay Razor, I made a thread for this, my response was just too long for the petty Bar Room.

http://forums.wrestlezone.com/showthread.php?p=1661427

I'll be there. I fell asleep last night in the middle of the Danielson/McGuinness match. That's not a shot, I was just shit tired.

This is stupid. I've watched many matches for enjoyment of them, and I don't enjoy them. Then people will ask why, and when I, or in this case, Razor, gives a detailed reason why, then it's just because we're over analyzing it.

Quit being dumb.

As for the rest of you, I'm sure you made important points you think I should respond to, so just look back at all my other posts, and argue with yourself for a while. If you have anything original to add, let me know.

I would type just a "<3" or something here, but Xfear would just quote it and tell me to stop being a "Mini-Slyfox." I will say this though, I agree with this post.

xfearbefore has given an in-depth analysis of why this match is great, and I have yet to see anyone give a well-reasoned rebuttal.

Also, seriously, let's stop throwing around the word psychology here, or at least read a few wrestling bios before you use it again.

Yeah, I haven't watched barely any ROH. I've seen some shit matches. I've seen some good ones. Nigel McGuinness is a fucking GOD. That lariat > JBLs clothesline.

A) Never did I call that a perfect match. In fact I said several times that I had it rated at about **** 1/4 out of five stars. I RARELY if ever hand out a perfect rating.

B) Joe is perfectly fine at selling, you were just looking for an excuse to criticize the match.

How you could doubt the great STORY that was told in that ring, I'll never know. I thoroughly debunked every silly criticism you made man.

Thank you TDigs. I literally sat there and analyzed that match from start to finish, constantly pausing and rewinding, and the match is still a damn good one even after I've seen it damn near a dozen times.

And I agree completely about psychology. People throw that word around so often on here that it's quite obvious many have no fucking idea what it even is.

Look. It is what it is. A man gives his reasons for a match to be great, then someone else tries to come up with a reason to debunk that theory, when in essence, the person doing the rebuttal doesn't really like the product in the first place... OR is wanting to debate just to debate something. ROH is great. The wrestlers were great. The entire show's worth watching. Doesn't mean it appeals to the masses. Just the hardcore, old schoolers who crave a good, well thought out match instead of weak, scripted promos and even weaker matches. Look at Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. Because once they're gone, there's no more people to carry the old school mantle. Matches will be droll, with a weak storyline and a last second angle. Nothing's thought out. Nothing's built up.

And Joe sells fine. No selling chops is nothing new. Ask Luger or Sting. Ask Ronnie Garvin. Ask anyone in the 80's in a Ric Flair match that no sold chops. They all did. That doesn't make it a bad match.

I still hold that match wasn't all that great. Joe's selling was shitty. I'm sorry I was trying to be humorous while reviewing this match. It's like this is the fucking Bar Room or something.

It was actually quite good Razor, you're just trying to find excuses to hate the match. The criticisms you laid out of this match is some of the stupidest most petty shit I've ever seen someone try to scrape the barrell with. The match sucked because the crowd was loud...the match sucked because there was a 2 count in the first few minutes of the match...the match sucks because Kobashi threw too many chops....I mean you were REALLY scraping the barrel trying to find something wrong there.

That and I guarantee you would never mount the same criticisms against a WWE match.

You're just distilling my review down to 3 points that weren't even the main point of my argument. It sucked because Joe can't sell worth shit. It sucked because his selling of Kobashi's chops was shit, and his selling of his own offense was shit.

You obviously have never seen me critique a Benjamin match, then. That fucker can't do anything right.

I'd love to see Razor give a Cena match that kind of uncalled for venom.

It'll never happen.

I brought up a specific Cena match in my response infact Razor. Seeing as how Joe's selling is what you claim makes the match terrible, I brought up Cena vs. HBK at Wrestlemania 23 and the infamously atrocious selling on Cena's part. I sure hope you think that match sucks as much as the ROH one. Since selling is apparently all that matters in a match. That and the ref's count. :p

Good idea. After all the match only happened what...almost 3 years ago now? And the selling wasn't even that bad, considering he did shake his leg out a couple of times?

The Cena/HBK mania match....yeah, I'll go rewatch that right now. Let's see if his selling is as good as I remember it. ;)
