Irreversible rolls through to the next round, no doubt about it. From what I have seen and read about Begotten it is a creepy film, but I feel like the quality is what will hinder it here. Not much can beat this visual of Monica Bellucci being raped in that red hallway. That is a scene that will stay with me for a long time. I will also add in that the story for Irreversible may be long at times but is ingenious and not only helps to add to the sickening feeling of the movie but leaves you pondering if you should in fact watch it again.
