First of all you talk about the older stars as if they are 50 and cant move, the people like Christian, Rhino and Angle DO NOT deserve to be called WWE rejects. Christian went to TNA and became a star, a world class talent and an all round great performer. Rhino did better stuff in TNA than in WWE and deserves his spot and Angle has been terrific in TNA and a brilliant champion along with putting people like Jay Lethal over. You talk about the X-Division being abused, well look at the best feud in TNA 3D v The X-Division,what more can I say. Wrestling fans have become so cynical. Think back to the days when you thought Big Show was a legitimate monster, Kane was going to kill you in your sleep and the Undertaker was dead and use that mentality when watching the next wrestling show you watch it will be alot more enjoyable.
Fair enough TNA have their problems, but the good outweighes the bad. Enjoy wrestling, dont criticise.

tna is rubbish its got dirty picture quality and we all love wwe

Onto addressing the subject at hand. I concur with what most people have been saying. I hate that the company which reinvigorated my love for wrestling is turning into what killed my passion for this business to begin with. If I want to watch guys I watched dominate the program ten years ago continue to dominate today I'll watch HHH and HBK on RAW, or better yet throw on one of my old tapes. I've had enough of Sting, I've had enough of Nash, enough of the Steiners, enough of Hall (after a single painful appearance) enough of 3D, enough of TNA.

I've watched as Angle has been booked into oblivion. 6 months ago Angle was a serious and feared wrestling fiend. Then one day we saw him running around in his underwear after losing his clothes whilst in a tanning bed and he hasn't been the same since. I cannot stand this Angle family drama bullshit anymore. I switch the channel anytime I see Kurt, Nash or Sting. It is stupid, it is boring and it is insulting. Speaking of insulting..... the Abyss, Black Reign, Rellik soap drama from a place called the land of tacky horror makes me cringe with a sense of enlightened disappointment every time i see any semblance of it.

I miss the old TNA. The one booked by D'Amore. TNA has been on a continuous downward spiral since Dixie nixed him from the head of creative. Under D'Amore the X-Division was respected. The title headlined PPVs ahead of the World Title. The tag division was the hottest it had been in any promotion in the entire industry in years. And the storylines were decent. I didn't feel the need to deny being a wrestling fan out of sheer embarrassment every time i watched the program. This company is killing itself. They have turned a full 180 degrees from what they once stood for.

Is it really a wonder they cant get past a 1.0 rating. They went from a 0.4 to a 1.0 rating on the backs of the hard work of the young guys that went out there and gave the fans a reason to keep tuning back in. Then.... they decided we need star power in order to get people to tune in. FYI TNA in case you failed to fkn realize, the company is still sitting on a 1.0 standard. The big names you're paying all this money to are not only killing the product but are failing to attract an audience and hindering the growth of this incredible company. All these amazing fresh young talents taking the back seat to pieces of washed up crap unable of delivering a decent match under the false assumption that it is a necessary evil for the interim growth of the company. Its plain bullshit. TNA needs to go back to doing what got them to the dance to begin with.

First off, there is a thread for WWE vs TNA, I suggest using that from now on. Second, don't speak for myself or any of the rest in the forum by saying "We all love WWE". It's no better then the writers in both companies trying to tell the fans what they love or should love. But the writers can't seem to relate to the fans or today's pop culture and if they can't do that, how do they expect to truly give the fans what they want?

Here's a new problem that's come up in the past few days: having wrestlers change their names. Now we know that the reason they do this is so they own the copyrights to the characters and names, but the problem here is that TNA often debuts someone and changes their name later.

Sometimes this is ok -- Johnny Devine to Havok to Johnny Devine, ok. But now Talia Madison and Angel Williams to Velvet Sky and Angelina Love? I'm not sure, but I think they were their actual names, plus they debuted with them and now all of the sudden we have a name change? It's not even like they went away, it was 1 name one week and another the next.

I don't know how much of a "problem" it is really, but it really annoys me and I personally think it makes them look bad.

To address other problems:

-6 sided ring: I didn't like the 6 sided ring at first, but now I'm ok with it. That is just a preference among people

-Live: as far as I know, TNA doesn't have the technical knowledge or to tools to go live each week. I'm sure they'll go live at some point. Now as for moving to Mondays why do that? Why compete? Real wrestling fans would probably watch both so going to Mondays would be competing with the leader for no reason. Stay on your own day and get all of the ratings.

-Impact Zone: they tape here to keep costs down. If they hadn't been taping here there would probably have been no Christian, no Angle, no Booker in TNA. And for those that think that's good, they almost certainly would have been bankrupt. When they can, they will start touring more.

-WWE "rejects": It's a business. It's highly unlikely that ANYONE these days will spend their entire career at one company. Fatu, Test, yes you could call them "rejects." Angle, Christian, Booker? No not at all. Chris Masters=reject, Carlito=not a reject. Relax and stop be a fanboy.

-Commentary: Yes I have to agree, it's just not that good. Don West is terrible at wrestling commentary. Something's got to be done here. And yes I agree that is should be a face/heel team.

-Booking: Most agree here as well, there are too many 6 on 6 matches or "feuds" that start and end for no reason. There should be some reason for you fighting, it just makes it more interesting.

Kurt Angle as the world champion, it makes it look like they need a guy from the other side (WWE) to carry the company. Here is who I don't want for TNA World Champion.

and the tag team title picture, when will we ever see LAX win the tag titles again? They got plenty of talent and they show it in the ring. And they're definitely over with the crowd.

And the X-Division, we saw a great match with Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal. That was vintage X-Division. Why can't we see more of that? This was the stuff the X-Division was built on. Let's see more.

Why did matches like ladder matches, six sides of steel or TLC matches become forbidden in televised wrestling?
.

Well have to agree with you on alot of this very good points! The whole Angle as champ looks TNA look weak everytime a new fan sees TNA, they see Total Non-Stop Angle and think hey hes a WWE guy.

LAX seriously if these guys are kept out of the title picture for much longer im going to be so annoyed they are so over at the moment and one of my favourite tag teams ever Kudos to Konnan to putting them together.

X division match with Dutt and Lethal i personally didnt think was that great but know wheren your coming from and its a tired cliche with many of TNA fans.

110% agree with the point about the TLC Ladder matches etc etc no one wants to do these anymore back in the 90's and early 00's theese were all the time even a TLC match on Smackdown! now days though i dont think theres a market for them matches. certainly not for hardcore matches i mean looking back to BFG when Raven jumped of balcony and elbow dropped Abyss on the table that was a sweet move but how many people chanted anything? There was no holy sh*t chant or ECW or TNA.

Bottom line i think is TNA needs to CUT THE CRAP! and get down to wrestling and business. They need to throw out the whole "were such a nice company, we only film one location make it nice for the performers etc etc" tough luck if they dont like travelling they obviosuly dont want to sacrifice that much for wrestling therefore they aint worth it. pure and simple. TNA needs to toughen up, make some performers, stop providing fans with stupid dumbed down storylines and commentary and stop provding a safe haven for performers from the WWE who dont want to comply to the drug policy. TNA needs to go on the road, fire Dixie or get rid of her as she knows nout about wrestling. I know they cant do this but still. Fire Jarret and fire Dutch. Make Vince Russo main writer and hire younger guys!

The only reason WWE boomed in the 90's is because of Austin and the attiude era and just said balls up to everything we have attitude and that was awesome. Only reason WCW boomed is because the broought in NWO and made them kick the crap out of everyone. Only reason ECW boomed was because they got down to business and made good storylines to connect with fans along with senseless violence never before seen. The only reason UFC is booming is because its hard hitting, realistic and GETS DOWN TO BUSINESS. TNA needs it so bad, bring in someone like Brock, Goldberg anyone who could shake up the scene and kick the crap out of everyone give the fans that attitude back. No wonder WWE are still producing rubbish and not afraid of TNA i dont blame them TNA is joke compared to its former self.

Sorry about that turned into a rant!

Im sure coming up to Impact tonight more poeple will list some problems but are there anymore people can think of at the moment?

SCREWING OVER THEIR OWN TALENT FOR 'BRAND NAMES'

several years ago over here in the UK we started getting tna's weekly ppvs shown for free and i thought it was a breath of fresh air, sure i didnt know who half the people were but did i care, no, and i presume thats how alot of you felt when you first started watching, look at their first show, the show that got it all started, from what i can rememebr there was jarrett, hall, and ken shamrock, they were the only like big star power names, the rest were either lower midcard guys or indy guys, and from that first show what did they do, nearly two frigging years of three hour weekly PPV's. And within those two years the only real few names i remember coming were a few ecw guys, some midcard wcw guys, raven, and jeff hardy, now tell me did these have major star power, no they didnt, sure some of them were at cult status from diehard fans, but they werent the rock, but TNA didnt need that, TNA had originality behind it, and it was all well and good

then came nash, and since then its been a slow downward spiral, ever since turning point 2004 TNA has been a slowly sinking ship, some of you will argue with this but you know its true, in 2004 do you remember the main event, it was AMW vs XXX in a six sides of steel match, look at turning point for this year two tna stars in the main event, two out of six, wtf is their problem, look at the past few ppvs it all revolves around angle or christian cage, remember the days when it was styles, daniels and joe establishing the x division as something completely seperate from anything we've ever seen, now whats happend to the X division, Team mo'foin 3D,

sure from a business point of view bring in the big names, they draw in viewers, but do they, since they brought sting in there still on a 1.0 rating every week, that means kurts done nothing for them, and chances are neither will booker, their blowing money on guys who arnt boosting the ratings, what they need is to get rid of all the money wasting ex wwe guys, that means kurt, nash, hall, steiners, 3D etc etc and focus on the talent they have, hell with all the talent in the x division they could fill an entire ppv card, they jsut need to evaluate their options, they can either

1. turn out like wwe a stale repetitive product trying to force the same few stars down our throats week in week out and do nothing with the talented guys

or

2. trim the fat off the product, get rid of the useless talent, who cares if their a big name, kurt angle is a big name and hes done nothing for the ratings, with all the money theyde save off not having a roster filledwith useless money wasters they could set up a decent ad campaign and probably get more viewers through promotion rather than hoping big names = money.

if TNA doesnt sort itself out now then it will never grow and it will never achieve true sucess, im a huge fan of TNA and i hate to see them sabotage something that has so much potential

I can somewhat agree with your opinions on how big star power isnt really working for TNA but without it spike TV would probaly cancel thier contract. I think TNA has slowly gone down hill since Angle came in. Now i dont know why perhaps they are getting cocky and with all these WWE guys coming to them they feel if they have WWE stars then being like WWE will surely bring in the ratings. But it obviously hasnt. Advertising and getting out of Florida is a dam good start for TNA it needs to happen for the ratings to grow i think. Maybe a few new bookers but it really needs to go on the road. WCW by its fifth year was on the road if im right and they were gaining huge power. But before that although they also had big WWE guys, they were filming in one studio not getting anywhere. Im sure that new wrestling fans tune into Impact and see Kurt Booker etc and just think oh this must be some kind of indy promotion as its all in one studio. TNA needs to go on the road. But it does need a good mix between them WWE guys and TNA guys.

kurt will be the downfall of tna, i disagree with bringing in all the 'big names' becase it takes away from the original tna we all know and love, fair enough when they brought in christian cage, he put up a decent effort cracked some amazing promos and at least jobbed to some tna guys to get them over,

look at kurt angle, he came in and destroyed joes winning streak inevitably killing his star power as a main eventer, joe jobbed time and time again just because tna believes joe isnt a big enough star to represent their company, which in itself is wrong because anyone whos ever seen ROH knows who samoa joe is, die hard wrestling fans know who is, tna fans new or old know who he is, hes an amazing athlete in the ring despite not being a genericy looking meat head, and he deserved to beat angle, but management are against it all because theyde rather sell out their own company and their own fans to be like wwe than give us what we the fans want, since being in tna i have yet to see angle get anyone over, you cant say samoa joe because he was over completely with the fans, and you cant say jay lethal because he hardly did the job, all he did was let lethal hit an inside cradle or a school bo or whatever he did

either way kurt is bad for business and no matter what he says about how he was burnt out from wwe and how he couldnt handle the schedule, the truth is he was popped up on pain killers and new he would fail a drug test so what does he do, run off to tna where they dont test their competitors. i honestly used to be a huge fan of angle (like many other top stars) yet they are doing nothing but bringing down tnas net income, if they werent paying out bucketloads for people they dont need with massive paycheques, nash and hall, the steiners, kurt etc etc, hell pacman jones was the biggest waste of money the company has ever invested in, then they could probably air a decent amount of advertising, even air another comercial during raw like they did a few years ago,

fact is since they brought in sting the ratings havent increased or decreased, they his a solid 1.0 every week, kurt hasnt increased ratings like they said he would, and booker t wont either, they jsut dont have the STAR power that they used to, booker had been off the air on wwe television for weeks and nobody seemed to miss him, bringing him to tna wont do anything for the ratings

top and bottom of it, get rid of kurt, get rid of nash and hall, get rid of booker, get rid of the steiners and any other talent they dont need, go back to the formula that worked, x division guys building the start of a solid event card, tag team division and mid carders with a hardcore match to fill the middle and then tnas home grown or veteran guys to fill up the top of the card, it was a working system they had for years before angle and it worked, that was what got the tna fans in, not angle

and if they got rid of angle spike woldnt cancel their deal, spike wanted a deal with tna years ago but they just couldnt fit them in around the programing etc,

all in all just get rid of angle and the rest of the supposed 'star power' thats meant to boost ratings

i think you got some good points there and i agree with the whole Samoa Joe every TNA fan says it "give joe the freaking belt" it needs to be done. and i think you got point about bringing in WWE talent i think unless they are prepared to job to TNA wrestlers they are overall a waste of time space and money. Think about when ECW hit the scene the only big name they had was Terry Funk and he even said himself only reaosn he was there was to get wrestlers over. Although having big names in the company increases the value of the product it destorys the original product unless they are prepared to job. If they could job then loads more new fans would be like hey this dude from TNA kicked angles ass wow all these non WWE guys are kicking WWE guys butts! would make TNA so much more stronger but ah well! Booker T is such a bad move, i havent liked him since he was in Harlem Heat and late 99 into 2000. After that hes got awful and no good for TNA. Cage like you said i thiknk was a smart move, hes a natural heel and awesome at promos. At end of day if TNA is going to keep bringing in these stars they need the show on the road!

The main problem with TNA is that people keep doing "judgement by comparison". Whenever I hear people talk about what TNA does wrong or right, it's in comparison with the WWE. It's a basic judgement that everbody makes. Now sure everybody remembers the early days of TNA and what got them to the dance. But now that they are there, the fat girl with the moves needs to move back to rhe background and let the pretty girl with legs take over. Sure the fat girls will still be there, but you gotta put out your best foot to get attention. People criticize TNA for being similar to WWE. But let me ask you this. How in the hell else are you going to sway the audience of the competition unless you don't do something similar tot the competition in order to get them to hop over and not feel as if they are missing something? Hmm? The fact of the matter, and I have said this over and over again, is this. SMARKS DON'T ADD UP TO RATINGS! The average wrestling fan doesn' know whatevr past gimmicks WWE or TNA wrestlers had. The average wrestling fans has no idea who Dr. Isaac Yankem is. And that is why they are the most pure wrestling fans, because they watch what's going on now without caring about history or insider info. So I'll tell you what, when we, the SMARKS of the world, start adding up to bigger ppv buys, more event revenue, and merchandise buys, and money in their pockets then we shoul dhave a major say and gripe. But as long as we sit here on the net and criticize, instead of becoming the power weilding majority, then we should just shut the hell up and let TNA do whatever they feel they need to do to better themselves. They will either sink or swim. I'm just going to sit back and watch the show and appreciate their efforts, whether I like it or not. But if you truly hate it, then just tap record it and then fast forward past the parts you don't like. Like I do with RAW and Smackdown.
