SCREWING OVER THEIR OWN TALENT FOR 'BRAND NAMES'
several years ago over here in the UK we started getting tna's weekly ppvs shown for free and i thought it was a breath of fresh air, sure i didnt know who half the people were but did i care, no, and i presume thats how alot of you felt when you first started watching, look at their first show, the show that got it all started, from what i can rememebr there was jarrett, hall, and ken shamrock, they were the only like big star power names, the rest were either lower midcard guys or indy guys, and from that first show what did they do, nearly two frigging years of three hour weekly PPV's. And within those two years the only real few names i remember coming were a few ecw guys, some midcard wcw guys, raven, and jeff hardy, now tell me did these have major star power, no they didnt, sure some of them were at cult status from diehard fans, but they werent the rock, but TNA didnt need that, TNA had originality behind it, and it was all well and good
then came nash, and since then its been a slow downward spiral, ever since turning point 2004 TNA has been a slowly sinking ship, some of you will argue with this but you know its true, in 2004 do you remember the main event, it was AMW vs XXX in a six sides of steel match, look at turning point for this year two tna stars in the main event, two out of six, wtf is their problem, look at the past few ppvs it all revolves around angle or christian cage, remember the days when it was styles, daniels and joe establishing the x division as something completely seperate from anything we've ever seen, now whats happend to the X division, Team mo'foin 3D,
sure from a business point of view bring in the big names, they draw in viewers, but do they, since they brought sting in there still on a 1.0 rating every week, that means kurts done nothing for them, and chances are neither will booker, their blowing money on guys who arnt boosting the ratings, what they need is to get rid of all the money wasting ex wwe guys, that means kurt, nash, hall, steiners, 3D etc etc and focus on the talent they have, hell with all the talent in the x division they could fill an entire ppv card, they jsut need to evaluate their options, they can either
1. turn out like wwe a stale repetitive product trying to force the same few stars down our throats week in week out and do nothing with the talented guys
or
2. trim the fat off the product, get rid of the useless talent, who cares if their a big name, kurt angle is a big name and hes done nothing for the ratings, with all the money theyde save off not having a roster filledwith useless money wasters they could set up a decent ad campaign and probably get more viewers through promotion rather than hoping big names = money.
if TNA doesnt sort itself out now then it will never grow and it will never achieve true sucess, im a huge fan of TNA and i hate to see them sabotage something that has so much potential
