PPV Poster Competition: Money In The Bank

Theo Mays

Part Time Poster
Well Capitol Punishment is this Sunday and the PPV following that is non other than Money In The Bank. I figured I'd open up the thread a bit early so we could see what our awesome sig makers produce here. Remember this is about having fun and just something to pass the time when the itch is there to make something special.

Here is what I have come up with:

I really loved how this turned out. I was just fooling around and once I got everything blended I couldn't help but love it. How I got there you ask, lets see...

Firstly I found images of the MITB winners that are still with the company (hence why RVD and Kennedy are missing, though I replaced Kennedy with Edge since he actually cashed it in). I then erased bits and pieces of each one to get the blending to flow. I used Miz as the centerpiece as he has gone on to become a top star in the WWE and that was mainly due to his cashing in of his MITB briefcase. Then I did the simple adding the date and live on PPV stuff. Next I put a gold color for the color as it really didn't flow with all the clashing colors. I used gold because that is what the MITB leads you to, championship gold. Finally I did a sharpen to bring everything out and that was that.

So all the sig makers out there I ask to see what you got and bring your talents right here and right now. Can't wait to see what you guys bring to the table and most importantly have fun!

I love your concept but the filter you used made it crazy weirdly pixelated. A good example of what I'm talking about is Miz's face...his nose and mouth run together, and we all know his frog faced ass doesn't suffer from that problem, lol. Also...have you ever seen a WWE PPV poster that's literally all one color? I don't think I have. I'll make mine and post it tomorrow, I might have to steal your idea of using past MitB winners on mine, haha

Well First I got a bg of a city.Than I added the main Orton PSD since he will probably be in a world championship match for the PPV.Than added the two pictures of Miz and Swagger with there MITBs and than the one of Kane with the MITB.Than I added the MITB logo and used hue/saturation to add the green colour.

It's pretty much impossible to read Money in the Bank unless you already know what it says. Maybe just add a white stroke so it's legible.

Let me ask you this:
How old are you?

Know I will give some very basic feedback for you.
First you don't need to make a Green Poster like Theo, you could have been yourself.
Do you realize that we cant see the Money in The Bank logo?
You should make it at least white...
The BG images are very well worked, but this work is very very simple, but at least you tried and I really want to help you become a good photoshoper, or at least a normal photoshoper like myself.

You can also have some good renders (already cut images) in:

As much as I enjoy making posters, I'm not very good at it.
However, I think I did an alright job here.

I started with a picture of US$ notes but it was very bland. I made an new layer on top of it, filled it dark green and set it to addition.
I figure that JoMo is the logical decision to win the Raw MitB this year, so I used this great render of him.
I duplicated it 4 times, leaving me with 5 copies. On the bottom 3 I did motion blurs (1 left, 1 right, 1 up). On the top one I desaturated it and upped the contrast then I set it to overlay.
I merged the top two together and the bottom 3 together. On the motion blur one I did a quick gaussian blur just to blend it.
On the top one I used a little trick I came up with. You select the image only and shrink the selection by 3 pixels. Invert it so you have 3 pixels of the pic selected all the way around. Then just do a 5px gaussian blur. It's great for blending pics into the bg.
Then I just added the logo. It was black, so I edited it to be coloured.
Then I added the text in a font similar to the one used on credit cards and blurred it a touch.

That's it. It seems complicated, especially by my standards, but it didn't take long. It came together really nicely IMO :)
I'd love some feedback and tips on making posters, as it's definitely my weak point.

okay, I decided i didn't like the text in the first poster i did so i re-did it with the proper MITB logo and changed the font! It looks a lot better

Um, I truly don't want to sound mean here... But it's pretty bad. First off, do you even have a graphics program that you can use? If you don't, then you probably shouldn't be doing this stuff. First off, you just pasted some pictures onto a background of money. It doesn't work that way. Some of the pictures are stretched and/or blurred, and that decreases the quality. Secondly, you lowered the opacity on them, making them even harder to see. Also, some pictures aren't even aligned with each other. Look at every other graphic made by people, do you see just pictures sloppily pasted onto a background from Google Images? No, you don't. I give you credit for trying, but it just sucks. Learn to use a program like GIMP or Photoshop if you want to be around here.

Wow, i wasn't expecting that! hahaha no, i know its not that good and im gonna take on board everything you said! I purposely tried to blur the faces of the Wrestlers to like signify the importance of the briefcase by leaving it in focus but i get that my execution was WAY off. I used GIMP anyway just so you know and all the pictures of the wrestlers were actually edited before hand and i pasted the dollar photo beneath it and lowered the opacity for it. I really wanna get go at this in summer as it is a time-killer! Thanks for the criticism!

Yeah Rohan, can't say I like that either, it's not brilliant.

As obvious as it may sound, Theo's is definitely my favourite. I don't know too much about Sigs/Poster making, but Theo does it for me everytime. I think the strange colour, with the placement of the Pictures and the Title just makes it look brilliant. If I could, I would've changed it to something that wasn't yellow maybe.

ARLO, I like yours, it's nice, BUT there's something about it that doesn't click with me.

The best way to learn, is following tutorials, that is the way I did and every time I see anything simple and good I always try to make it...

You will learn that the best way to develop is trying by yourself.
But since you are really a rookie in photo editing, follow tutorials and download videos to help you understand the basics.
From my experience, I strongly recommend you to use Photoshop, it's more vast and has more sites dedicated to him, and in my opinion is very simple to deal with...

About every poster, I think that you are using to much green...
Just for a tip, remember that Money In The Bank is a ladder match, it's not really about money, but about opportunities...
I will try to make one and post it here.

For now ARLO and Theo have the advantage by a long shot, and you need to make it look more official boys (date, some sponsors and text)

I really didn't have an idea or a concept, I just had a render of Dolph Ziggler, and pictures of Kane and The Miz. I was inspired by American dollar bills.

wwe_money_in_the_bank_by_rollingthunderdesign-d3jbkgp.png

Along with the main images, there's a rough texture in there. I then added an image of a $100 bill and erased that partially. I spent a good while thinking of how to do the text because I didn't think that the official logo suited what I was trying to do. Then there's the official stuff at the bottom and that's pretty much it for the main things. There's a whole load of drop shadows, adjustment layers, glows, etc. There's just too many to go in-depth about.

That's pretty much it. I'm worried that it doesn't have enough colour, so I'm eager to see what people think.

Seth, that's a pretty good signature with not that much color. I love how you didn't use the Money in the Bank logo and got your own text together. But yeah, the signature could use some color. But overall, pretty impressive :D

Seth just never stops to amaze me with his Artwork in our PPV Poster competition.

Seth, the way you put everything together is awesome, the "bland" color, the Dollar bill behind your "Money in the Bank" text, the way you placed the renders behind the focal render of Dolph Ziggler. Your poster just like Dolph Ziggler is PERFECTION!

ITS REALLY AWESOME.

Ladies, and Gents without further due I introduce to you....

What I first did was, create a background: I added some strokes of Green, and White the color of the dollar, although you can mostly see green with some shades of white.

Then I added a render of John Morrison, who I thought was most fitting for this PPV Poster because maybe it will be his time to shine at MiTB. Then cartoonized his face a little using a Filter.

I then added a new layer, and added some brush strokes among the bottom of JoMo's body, and opaciated it a bit.

Behind John, I added 4 MITB Winners: Kane, and Miz (The recent) and Punk and Edge... and put them on opacity as well to symbolize the winners of the past.

I can go on and on and on, but I loved the outcome of this.
Oh and I added a render of money behind JoMo, I dont think its too visible.

I did a very simple poster this time around. Hopefully they will get more advanced as I contiue to practice. Basically it is a render of the Miz which I made totally black, carrying a MITB briefcase. On the birefcase I have in dark lettering Money in the Bank. I made a simple catch phrase at the bottom and through in thbe dates in dark generic font. I used a gradient background to ge the summer feel of the picture.

It's not the best but it is a start.

Here's my entry. Fairly simple promotional poster.

Punk is the only subject in my poster to focus on his importance to the show. I mean, MITB is going to be appealing because of Punk's contribution. He's the big thing heading into the show.
