They're comparable due to the fact they both spin the ball like no one else has and have been competing with each other for the most wickets title, but he's a chucker. I've read somewhere it's due to a natural condition he has with his arms which doesn't take away from him being a chucker.

Story is that he tried to straighten his arm as a kid and that is what became his bowling action when he grew up. His action creates an illusion of chucking. It's been verified by tests that he angle by which he bends his arm is less than 14 degrees above which it would be considered as chucking.

And anyhow most off break bowlers bend their arm a bit like Harbhajan Singh and even Johan Botha from South Africa( still less than 14 degrees, mind you). It's not like Murali is the only one out there.

Just saw I video on youtube which disproves him chucking. Guess I was wrong but to the naked eye it's very convincing to think he's a chucker.
