Possible Friction Between John Cena and Vince McMahon?

Getting Noticed By Management
Former WWE writer Court Bauer joined Konnan and Mister Saint Laurent on MLW Radio and talked about the friction between John Cena and Vince McMahon regarding Cena's surgery last week:

"John Cena has this procedure done in Birmingham, AL. WWE.com puts out there that he'll be down for only two weeks and that life will go on. It was basically like removal of fragments and bone spurs in his arm or his elbow, which if you follow sports, baseball players have it done all the time, usually in the office season. NFL guys will have it done here or there. It's a pretty easy deal. So, I don't think anyone was thinking it was going to be this long stretched out thing, but then the reports came out about how long John Cena was going to be down for. John Cena then took to Twitter saying that WWE.com got the story wrong and that he's going to be out for a full six [weeks] and he just buried WWE.com and all the guys over there. The story obviously then switched to 'now he's out six weeks.'"

"From what I know, Vince McMahon himself, in the agent meeting, the producers meeting, told everyone straight up the dude is out for just two weeks, 'we dodged a bullet and that he's very much in the mix moving forward.' That was Tuesday, he said that. Then Cena had very different things to say and I understand WWE.com did talk to James Andrews [Cena's doctor], who WWE and Cena did give them the blessing to talk to. That's standard protocol at WWE. They always try to interview the doctor, get insight so they can have the news. Sometimes it's a kayfabe site and sometimes it's a legit news site. Sometimes it's a TMZ site, but that's the story. They interviewed him and Dr. James Andrews did say he'd be out just two weeks."

"So you have to wonder if Vince and the doctor said it and Cena is saying six weeks, there is an interesting issue there. Is it that John Cena wanted the full six weeks out? Was John Cena then told something after Tuesdays that conflicted with this? But it was very quickly thereafter they reported it on the website that this was not in fact the situation. The reality of it is, John Cena is coming off a divorce, he's beaten up. He's got a bad neck, a bad hip, bad everything. He's closing in on 36. The wear and tear of a guy like that, that goes, goes, goes and is a company man, you gotta think about."

"And if you're Vince McMahon, you look at the clock, you look at the calendar and you think, is it time to build the next John Cena?"

I'll tell you what killed him, giving an attitude adjustment to big show every single night to send the fans home happy. Just maybe...

But can you build the next John Cena?

Some will say yes, but the real question is... Why haven't they already?

John Cena simply needs time off. It helps everybody. All the Cena haters are pleased he's away, Punk won't miss a beat as champion, can go into a program with The Rock at the Rumble, and Cena can heal and take a break.

There's this guy called Ryback, dude would be perfect to take Cena's place in a year or 2.

Anyways if the story is true then I'm sure Vince will get over it. Chances are that Cena is feeling burnt out as the elbow is really the least of his worries right now. He's going through a divorce and considering the guy seemingly never stops going its quite possible its all starting to wear him out. Maybe with all the times Cena brushes off major injures like their are nothing Vince forgets that Cena is a human being and sometimes humans need to take a break. Hogan was face for a long time but he didn't work half the hours Cena did, maybe Cena wanted to recharge his batteries and got pissed WWE only said he's out 2 weeks instead of 6.

You guys realize the title say POSSIBLE friction right? I don't recall anyone saying there is legitimate beef between Cena and Vince. As for me I was talking in a hypothetical situation.

The OP seemed to be talking about how to start making a new face is a good idea and he brings up a good point. Cena can't carry them forever, just saying.

Yes, because Cena criticizing WWE.com COULDN'T have been a rib or a work...

That's not even the issue. Even if Cena had been 100% serious and Vince is steaming mad, what's the difference? This entire situation is unimportant, and no one will mention it again after this week.

More Ryback, though. Feed. Him. More.

If Cena DOES need 6 weeks off then he should have 6 weeks off. The man works his ass off for the company and deserves time off to heal when he needs it. It's not his fault WWE rely on him so much.

I believe there is a rift there but not for that reason.

When Cena didn't sell to Rock at SS last year was that work?

Because it seems like it's the tragedy of McMahon's life that when he built up big stars in the end there is always a conflict about passing the torch or giving up the belt.

What?

People within WWE are under the impression that John Cena recently blowing up on WWE.com over his injury report was done to further the storyline that he can't make Hell In a Cell. The idea would be that when he does wrestle at Hell In a Cell, they will hype it up like he came back earlier than he was supposed to, playing into the "Super Cena" character.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I think it's more important to recognize that the information source is Konan.
