Popular Sooky Musicians

What is it with all the sooks comeing out in the last few years releasing an album and become famous. James blunt, Akon just to name a few. Even Usher to a certain extent. What is it that makes them popular? I mean I can understand tv shows filled with drama. but who in their right mind wants to listen to some guy sook about their break up?.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that once they bring one out they are certain to bring another one out to follow it. If i was to sing about all of my problems i would be singing for the rest of my life. These songs have absoloutly no meaning what so ever.

This is perhaps the worse music genre, Becouse they are everywhere. Rock Rap Country EVERYWHERE. What do you think of these songs? should they keep making them or just Harden the fuck up?

I think they should just Harden the Fuck Up. even bordering sell outs. I want to know where the real music is gone. all the songs that are worth listening too.

Well you have to think, majority of people have problems and if they are going to be making these sooky songs as you call them Sparky, they are going to have a lot of people listening to them increasing their fan base by all those people who feel that they can relate to the songs they make. All it is, is just providing to your demographic. Not to mention, they are pretty much all mainstream artists and a lot of people would be listening to them.

You missed one fairly big sooky artist aswell. I feel that Simple Plan should be in that category. Their songs Perfect and Welcome To My Life are pretty big ones. Also Missy Higgins

Even though I'm not a big fan of sooky songs, I don't think they should harden the fuck up. Why would they do that when they are making big money off of it? I don't blame them for making them if they know it's going to make them money. Plus, I don't listen to the radio, so I couldn't care less.

Different people like different styles of music. I for one like some acoustic music, you might not. You have people out there that like MCR, and then the rest of the world says they're crap and emo. You're alowed to like whatever music you want and you're allowed to do sing about what you want. They don't need to harden up, its providing a different musical style for people

Some people that have problems in their lives listen to these songs because they feel they can relate to them, and it reminds them that other people are going through what they are going through. And also, a lot of these songs are catchy, or have a good melody, or just sound good. If i'm feeling down, I put on some "sooky music" as you call it, and it helps me get back up and feel calm.

Yes, and I'm sure you could sing better than anyone out there, and write better lyrics, and think of a better tune to go with the song. These artists have talent, and they have decided to sing about the problems in their wn life. Its their inspiration, what's wrong with that? And they have no meaning. Right. They're talking about a real life scenario, which other people have been in or are in. I think if I went through your favourite artists, i'd find songs that have no meaning whatsoever.
