Please tell me, what does the superbowl mean for the average American?

Getting Noticed By Management
I don't know about the superbowl a lot, I've never heard much about it in my country nor have I seen interest from the population. On the news the host always explains how much of a tradition this is for all races alike. What does the superbowl mean to the average American? does he care? or is it just only for the fans?

It's a big deal. The absolute biggest sporting event in the country. Of all the people that watch it, 7% watch just for the new commercials. For fans, this is heaven on earth. Even people I know that don't like football will glance at it.

I'm not American, but I'd watch it the same as I'd watch any other NFL game if I'd time and didn't have to get up to work tomorrow

SB Sunday is basically an unofficial holiday, it's kinda like Thanksgiving in that you sit around stuffing your face and watching the greatest game on earth, only instead of Turkey and Pumpkin Pie, it's Pizza, Hotwings, Nachos, and what ever other delicious junk food you can get your hands on

The SB is a huge deal

Yeah I've heard of the Netherlands. Only country to pay back their debts from World War 2.

Imagine the finals of the World Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Olympics rolled into one game.

Damn you KB. I was wanting some quesadilla's but I forgot to get some. So I'm going with Pizza, cheeseburgers, ans sunchips.

:eek2:

Its that big?

Yes. Tons of people buy big screen tvs for this one night, then return them. There's tons of parties, the SB has something like 8 of the top 10 television broadcasts ratings of all time and it always has a huge halftime show. It's the biggest sporting event of the year for America, bar none.

You can watch it online I'd think. It's one of the three big weekends of the year. This, Mania and the Academy Awards.
