I been playing drums for about four months and I have come along ways. Does anyone on WZ play the drums too? Got any tips for a beginer?

As long as you can keep a beat your all set. I have to learn how to sync both the high-hat and symbols while hitting the snare.

I've been a drummer for about 10 years now. All I can say is practice.

And this may seem like a joke, but play Rock Band. Its actually very helpful when learning how to separate your feet and hands.

Hmmmm. I don't have Rock Band but I try to make sure I practice everyday. I usually listen to my Ipod and play the song.

Tip #1:
It's spelled 'beginner', not 'beginer'.

A few others:

• Get yourself a metronome. Use It.
• Master all the basic drum rudiments.
• Don't play when you practice.
• Don't practice when you play.
• Strengthen your "non-dominant" hand.
• Consider learning traditional (jazz) grip too.
• Use appropriate size/weight sticks.

I played in elementary & high school... Though moved to percussion/cymbals in later years, as I'm smaller than Rey/Runt Dudley, so I couldn't carry the drum to march.
