The other day, I bought a Photoshop magazine. I was quite surprised they even made them, but really I shouldn't have been. There are magazines on everything nowadays. Anyway, I found one, and in there was an ad for Eye Candy 6, a filter pack that you could download for Photoshop.
I went to the website being advertised, I downloaded it, and tested it out. Well, I am definitely going to buy this filter pack. It's been amazingly useful. It can do all sorts of awesome effects, like 3D text, backlights, fancier bevels and shadows, and more. Here are some sigs I used the various filters in:
For this, I used the Diamond Plate tool to give the background some texture (It generates a metal plate texture that I set to lighten so it would blend), the backlight filter for Ziggler, and Glass/Extrude on the text. Glass gave it a good look while Extrude made it 3D.
I used various Corona settings on Sheamus to get the starburst look. Very useful.
What I really like about these filters is that the effect isn't applied directly to the layer. Rather, it duplicates the layer you want to apply them to, then applies the effects to the duplicate.
I plan on experimenting more with it today and I'll post something in my Creations thread detailing what I did when it's done. So far, the filter pack has been very useful for doing effects that would have taken a long time to do, and doing them quickly and easily. I recommend it.
