Paramore: Finally Headliners

NSL

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
So, while searching the internet for upcoming shows, I came across Paramore doing a headlining tour, at some small, but rather well known venues across the country. Locally, at least for me, they'll be playing at the Electric Factory in Philly, and I also saw they'd be playing at Hammerstein Ballroom shortly after that.

I like that they're headlining, as it shows they've finally made it big enough to do so, and that it can only lead to bigger and better things. However, maybe they're peaking a bit early. They just did a tour opening for No Doubt, and now they're grabbing two (much) smaller bands to open for them. I don't see how it could hurt them for now, but maybe in the long run, it'll hurt that they've already toured with bands too small to draw anyone that isn't already a fan. The bands opening for them will see huge sales, and a boom in the fanbase, so no one can blame them for tagging along.

What do you think? Will you be going to see the show? Do you think this is a sign of things to come for Paramore, or is it too early for them to be out on their own?

I love Paramore. I think Hayley Williams is an amazing singer, plus she's beautiful so it all works. If they get around Virginia i'll try to go. Their new album is dropping soon right? Or has dropped? I'm waiting for it. Paramore's the shit.

The new album comes out in a few weeks, but there's a limited pre-order on their website. I saw them play 2 of the new songs when I saw them a few months back, and they sounded a little heavier than the stuff that made them big, so hopefully it all pans out for them. It'd suck to get big with the "poppier" stuff, and then lose a ton of fans for writing something with a little edge to it. Hayley is a great singer, and the band as a whole sounds really good together. I also cannot wait to hear more of the new album.

Not much of a fan but I don't think it will hurt them. I for one will not go to a show if they come around here but I know a few people around my area who are crazy over them so they will go for sure. What is there typical fan base size anyway. Like how are there CD's and stuff doing. That will tell you mainly about how good they might can do.

I don't know much on album sales, but that usually won't tell you much anymore anyway. Too many people pirating music and trading, so album sales suffer big time.

As far as their fanbase, it's mostly 13-21 yr old females, and they'll go for sure, even if it means dragging along their parents. However, their fans are a pretty well rounded group aside from that. For instance, myself, a 25 yr old male, and Marquis, a 17 yr old male.

I know one guy on another forum who is a fan and he is a 16 year old dude. But me and him don't get along so I joke with him and bash Paramore. Truth is I'm not a fan but I don't hate them either. But it seems they probably will do good then cause I mean they seem popular from what I can tell and stuff. The girls going and taking parents or boyfriends(if i had a gf who liked them i'd go just so I could be with my girl) and then the guys who like them go. I say its a good idea. Also good idea there doing small places insted of the huge places.

Paramore is one of those bands I can't help but like. The music is so catchy, and Hayley Williams is just so...yeah. I had the chance to see them at Warped Tour 2007, and they were amazing. They had one of the biggest crowds of the day, and they owned it. I think they'll be fine with their new CD. Even if its not as good, the old fans will still buy it. If it is good, then no problemo. I think they have a long future ahead of them.

Add a 31 yr old male, as well. I'm a huge fan. They don't have the best lyrics, the most talented band, and they're not doing anything particularly different or innovative but dammit, they're just FUN. It's easy to overanalyze a band and miss the fact that ultimately, it's just supposed to be entertaining, and Paramore nails that.

So they're headlining? I can see that. I don't think they're going to be selling out any arenas or anything, but if they stick to modest venues, yeah, I can totally see that. I might even look into getting tickets myself.

The first time I heard Paramore, I was amazed. Their Pop Punk sound really drew me in. Their music is catchy and fun. They may not be "deep" ,but I don't care. It's the overall music that counts. I guess I do fall into the stereotypical Paramore fan as I'm a 16 year old female.

I think Paramore has the chance to make it really big. With their slight contribution to the Twilight movie and some workings with MTV. I'm sure that type of plublicity can skyrocket even higher. All they need to do is keep making good music and have fun doing it. The fans will definitely see that.

19 year old male as well. Can't say that it was the band in general, I fell in love with Hayley.. then I realized she's very talented. I haven't heard any of their new material though..

I am not waht you would call a hardcore Paramore fan but I think it may just be a little too early. I mean, if they think that they can pull of a great tour at the minute with their status, then by all means go for it but I think I would have waited for a little while yet. Just out of interest, who are the two other bands?

The last gig I went to see live was Nickelback and Black Stone Cherry supported them. Black Stone Cherry are probably on a similar level to Paramore but they have chosen to be support thus far. I think that it is a good thing to some extent. I hope that they are not overdoing themselves just now though.

Paper Route and The Sewells. Yep, probably having the same reaction. Who? This is the part that worries me. Usually when a band goes out on a headliner for the first time ever, they have a semi-national band to open up for them. A band like Paramore should have grabbed a band like Kelsey And The Chaos.

I'm a huge fan of Black Stone Cherry, but I don't think they're anywhere near the same level. Anything that Hayley and Co. puts out, shoots onto the charts, and sells like crazy. BSC writes much better music, but they're style isn't nearly as popular.

I find if funny how people use the I'm this age when people put up that there main age group is what 12- to 15? Sure theres allways going to be that unkown group that will lisiten to any band, thats part of the human mind. we'll lisiten to anything we want. But honestly there main age group is like 13- 19 girls.

I find them to be a horrible pop up band that most likely die off in the somewhat near future. Because just like the scene there in there just one of thoes fad bands and if they wanna be what they are for the rest of there life as a band there sure to die off.But if you want to lisiten to them go for it its your life.

But if they lose that pop bs and maybe get a little bit harder I'm sure some hardrock fans would wack there pud to hailey.
