Overrated bands!

got a couple of other bands that are completely overrated, all the new metal shit: Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park (already mentioned but they still suck), Evanescence and all the emo craps too: Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Panda, the new Green Day....yes, yes I know I'm going to get bashed by the Green Day crap, but that didn't stop me right? anyway, guys what are your thoughts about those ones

metallica, i had someone say to me that their songs had more artistry then U2, wtf, the whole thing has gone way way way to far, they're talented, just people overestimate them

Elvis Presley: the king? NOT! I'm sorry, this one I really don't see what's all the big deal about...he didn't do something new, something revolutionary! what he did whas something that a lot of black guys did before him! only cause he was white and all the little girls screamed for him made him famous! I mean :wtf: he even didn't wrote his own fucking songs!:banghead: 100% overrated

Are you fucking serious? Elvis deserves all the praise that he has gotten since hitting the mainstream. He took black music, which was looked down on at the time due to the massive racism that held America in a vice grip at the time, and made it popular and "ok" for people to listen to. Without him there would most likely be no rock and roll or a majority of the Americanized music that is out there. The fact that he did something that others did before him is regardless, he was the first SUCCESSFUL person to ever do it. Who cares if he didn't write his own music? He became a phenomenon due to his voice, style, and the way he danced. Elvis will always be the King, sorry Jerry Lawler.

Well no one has mentioned this band yet, and I may get a lot of hate for saying it, but most over rated band in my eyes is The Beatles.
They were iconic, and people went insane for them, but I just don't see their appeal. A lot of their lyrics sounded amateurish apart from a couple of exceptions, and they just sound so repetitively dull to me.
Obviously I am just basing my views on youtube videos because the band was before my time, but I think one of the things that set them apart from the other bands of that era, was they had charisma as individuals. And just like in wrestling, charisma takes you to that upper level, it sets you apart from the rest.

I am kind of torn on my own opinion now....I think they were a good band..but made average music, if that makes sense. Like their genius was in their minds, more than in their sound. I would rather hear them talk, than make music.

While you do make some fine points, and while I do agree that The Beatles are a little overrated (in terms of being the most famous band of all time, of course they are going to be), I just cant agree that their music is average.

Yes The Beatles were all oozing charisma, and that is a big reason they got so popular, listen to their music in comparison with alot of the other bands at the time and they really were on a higher level then most in that standard as well, heck they even gave The Rolling Stones one of their first hits with a song they considered trash.

I could go into the insane impact The Beatles made, still being the bestselling band of all time, leading other musicians into writing their own music, their revolutionary uses of the studio that changed everything in recording. But i'll stop there before I ramble. Alot of their lyrics sound amateurish earlier on because that was the trend of course, listen to 1965 onwards and you'll usually find much better lyrics. As for sounding repetitively dull.. Well its all personal taste of course, but I just cant see many reasoning in that statement if your talking variety, in which The Beatles is one of the vastest pop bands out there in terms of range.
