Outfits for segments

Occasional Pre-Show
One thing that really bugs me, is how so many wrestlers on WWE just wear their trunks/singlets with their branded t-shirt. I know this is only a minor aspect, but I think it really can have a big impact on the presentation of certain wrestlers.

Watching the RAW from the other night seeing Reigns in a leather jacket and Rollins in his all black suit gives a better presentation of their personality. It was the same during the attitude era - Austin in his denim shorts, Rock in his extravagant shirts or tracksuit, Triple H in his leather/denim combo, and it gave us another look at their character rather than being a walking advertisement.

It especially bugs me when talent is brought to the ring or stage, knowing they are not competing and are in their trunks.

Do people agree that it can add to characters image a bit better?

Ya know, a friend of mine brought that up to me a couple weeks ago..His point was the same as yours and I whole-heartedly agree..It's just an awkward moment when Orton or whoever is wearing their latest t shirt and trunks..Honestly it just looks generic. It'd be worlds better if wrestlers wore pants again in backstage segments.

Well guys, you should rewatch some attitude era shows, coz stone cold was always wearing his t-shirts, so did a lot of the other guys. the rock also used to wear his t-shirts while his face runs.

My personal issue is not wearing the shirts. But take Lesnar, shirt and tracksuit bottom combo. Austin wore his short and denim shorts. HHH would have a shirt under his leather/denim jacket combo and jeans. When The Rock wore his shirts it was with tracksuit bottoms.

It is just a small way of showing off the personality of a wrestler in such a simple way. I thought Reigns doing his interview in a leather jacket on the RAW just gave him a much better look when not wrestling than his shirt and military trousers.

Even in NXT, Sami Zayn will wear jeans and his cap. It just adds a level of personality to them.

The reason you will see a wrestler in his trunks that hasnt wrestled is usually they did wrestle another shows taping or a dark match. I do agree its just lazy advertising and i woyld like to see some more personalities come through since they no longer have gimmick wrestlers like taker.

I understand that the wrestlers need to be ready with all their gear on before the show starts, but it's not hard to throw on pants over your wrestling tights/spandex.

Another issue is WWE's ever changing dress code. At one point everyone had to wear a suit.... which does not show personality...unless you are supposed to be a rich jerk character.

One problem with showing what clothes they normally wear is the whole branding/advertising issue. WWE can't show logo's of other companies on their shows unless they get permission. Otherwise they can get sued. Lesnar is an exception because he is Lesnar.

I would love to see how wrestlers normally dress when not doing shows. That short clip of Roman Reigns shows he wears one of those hipster hats to keep his hair tucked inside.

CM Punk normally dresses like a homeless person or wears nerd shirts.
Taker does dress like a biker/bad*** in real life.
Steve Austin has the southern texan look in real life.
Scott Hall lives in the past and wears nWo shirts normally. :p
D-Bryan dresses like a lumberjack with plaid shirts.
Cena is a walking billboard or suit wearer. He is the ultimate yes man/Kiss-***. :p
