Right, not being stupid now, but is it just me, or does Daniel Bryan have this insane skill for making people look absolutely perfect in the ring?

Last night against Ryback, he made Ryback look brilliant & I would probably say that was Ryback's best match to date.

And just take a look at this video, where Bryan manages to make Roman Reigns look better. In the next video, Bryan takes on Swagger in a pretty damn good match. Yeah, we know that Swagger's a good wrestler but again, Bryan takes him to a great match.

One reason that I think Bryan has been taking people and making them look good recently is that the slight tweak on his personality recently, where he's become a lot more vicious and his character's always a lot more fired up in his matches. Personally, I'm loving the "new" Bryan, which he's playing perfectly, but what I want to know is;

Is Daniel Bryan used to make wrestlers that may not have the perfect in-ring skill better?

Is it Daniel Bryan making them look better? Or is it just the other wrestlers having a good day?

Considering Bryan has faced every type of wrestler known to man at the lower levels, he's able to make others look better. Big guys, little guys, whichever. He is one of those guys who pushes wrestlers into bettering themselves, while making them "look" better in the process.

You put Bryan against Cena, I can almost guarantee that will be a highlight match.

Is Daniel Bryan used to make wrestlers that may not have the perfect in-ring skill better?
i dont think that now. i think Bryan is used in the ring because the WWE likes his in ring skills and are starting to like his personality a bit. i dont think he's just used to give guys who arent perfect in the ring better, he's just used because WWE likes him.
Is it Daniel Bryan making them look better? Or is it just the other wrestlers having a good day?
well it depends on who's in the match. for example, you listed Jack Swagger vs. Daniel Bryan. Jack Swagger's in ring skills are NOT his issue, so you put him in the ring with a great wrestler like Bryan and it will be a classic. Roman Reigns isnt bad in the ring, so that gives you a bad match and then there's Ryback and while Ryback wont always have great matches, he does have his days and yesterday he looked like a monster while Bryan looked great in taking a monster to the point he had to get himself DQed. so i dont think he always makes them look better, though he does help because of how good he is in the ring. Bryan's in ring skills is a huge reason why so many people want him to win another world title heel or face...if he's a heel, i think Bryan vs. Cena would be a classic.

-I am a huge Bryan fan just like Ziggler and Punk
-I prefer the non-bodybuilder guys seeing the "smaller" talent puts on the best matches like HBK and Flair
-This isn't a knock on Bryan but how much of this seems to be future push as a face are management finally believes in him after his WHC run or does it have to do with hes hanging around Cena alot more
-I don't know if Bryan plays politics whether in WWE or the other promotions hes been in

"The Guy Who Makes Other People Look Good" is the second-most secure job in professional wrestling, because there are so few people who do it well. Chris Jericho has been doing nothing but that (in pro wrestling) for the past few years. Matt Hardy had pretty much limitless life on his WWE contract before he decided to just not give a shit anymore.

"World Champion" isn't the ultimate job in the WWE, and these days it's probably not even top 3 (unless your name is John Cena). If he's being used as a guy to push other guys, that's absolutely awesome for Daniel Bryan- professional wrestling companies can find new champions pretty quickly, but the really good performers can make you care without having to tell you that there's a championship on the line too.

In every other athletic endeavor, your job is to win; if your opponent's feelings get hurt by you coming out on top......tough rocks.

In pro wrestling, I believe the most valuable, time-honored trait is the ability to make your enemy look good. Sure, you need to have good moves yourself, but without your opponent working to sell your stuff, pro wrestling would contain a lot of people performing tactics that come off as pathetic because we know there's no way they'd work in a real fight. In a back alley brawl on the streets, can you imagine someone jumping off a garbage can, trying to toss a flying dropkick at his waiting foe? If anyone ever tried it, the enemy would simply step aside and let the fool crash onto the sidewalk.

So, there's a premium on guys who can sell, and no one is better at it than Daniel Bryan. The good thing about tangling with him is that he's achieved so much notoriety and fame for his technical excellence that he can make highly regarded wrestlers who aren't known for their technical expertise (read: Ryback) look good. Not only is Daniel in the right position to make his enemy look good at all times, he can also tell a story while doing it. That's what happened last night.

Another example concerns Sin Cara in his early days. His aerial moves would look ridiculous without his opponent selling them. Since Sin Cara rarely took punishment in those days (he only dished it out), his foe had to rush into position to take Sin's offense and make it look credible. The best Sin Cara matches were the couple against Daniel Bryan; he knew just how to make it look as if a real fight was taking place. Compare that to Sin Cara vs. Chavo Guerrero....Chavo was a decent worker but his botches against Sin Cara got him yelled at by Vince McMahon. Personally, I think he was yelling at the wrong guy, but Vince's word ruled the day.

So, I agree: if you're looking to put over a guy who isn't that ring-wise....but needs to come across as if he is.....give him Daniel Bryan as an opponent and watch all the good things that result.

Daniel Bryan, and I have said this for a while, maybe the most unequivocally over wrestler. And I love him. I have loved him since I saw him and ADR put a clinic at SD last year. In-ring he is THE best around. And add to that, charisma and this loveable charm. But perhaps his highest quality...he has IT. That connection with the fans. Every arena, one after the other when he comes out or gets that tag, YES! YES! YES!

He has been the most complete wrestler for a good 12 months for me, I await when he shows up on Raw and SD.

P.S That beard!

I hope this trend of actually making him look strong continues, I still don't feel like they'd book him to beat a Sheamus yet (lame), but the reaction he's getting from the crowds is the best on TV right now. As Jericho put it, he's the best performer currently. He's on fire. I really want to believe this push is because management finally realized how good he has done with literally everything they've given him and not just a benefit of being buddies with John Cena and them dating twins together. Sadly that is another, probably better way of getting a push.

You put Bryan against Cena, I can almost guarantee that will be a highlight match.

I would guarantee it. Why? Because Cena is a damn good wrestler, one of the best. If you put him in there with a guy like Bryan, magic is bound to happen. Lest you forget, John Cena has gotten better matches then thought possible out of some of his opponents as well.

Daniel Bryan's biggest strength is to make both his opponent and himself look credible at the same time. He's not just a guy who bumps around for his opponent and loses, he sustains and maintains credible offense for long stretches of time. Was he going to pin or make submit the top heel in the company(right now) and #1 Contender to the WWE Title last night? Of course not. But I'll be damned if I didn't buy into every nearfall and submission maneuver he pulled out on Ryback as if it was possible.

Further, look at what Bryan did to the crowd last night. They were dead last night heading into his match with Ryback. Absolutely freaking dead. Other then the Jericho/Heyman segment, there had been a whole lot of fans sitting on their hands because of the filler programming thrown at them. In 15 minutes, he had the entire arena in the palm of his hands, counting along with the ref at every possible near fall. If that's not the sign of a gifted wrestler, what is?

Then it was time for him to bump for the monster, and he did that exceptionally as well. Perhaps it was simply storyline driven, but Bryan was protected in a sense in that he didn't get the Kofi treatment of being pinned then put through a table. Could Ryback have pinned him? I assume so, but we don't know. Ryback abandoned all semblance of a cover to put Bryan through a table, and Bryan won the match. But best of all, Ryback came out of the match looking like an absolute beast and monster heel, and he has Daniel Bryan to thank for it.

Last night was the best single's match of Ryback's career. There's no doubt that he has Daniel Bryan to thank for it. By the time his career is over, I'm sure many others will be able to thank Daniel Bryan for the exact same thing.

Now look at you all eating out of the guys hand and when he showed up was all "he has no look, no mic skills, no charisma, just technic".

He has been really impressive for the last year and more that I feel like if they given him shitty angle he would still make it look like gold. Most interesting story on RAW right now is his story and what would happen to him. :)

Is Daniel Bryan used to make wrestlers that may not have the perfect in-ring skill better?

Is it Daniel Bryan making them look better? Or is it just the other wrestlers having a good day?
Well you cant just say that Ryback, Reigns and Swagger sucks with their in-ring skills(he can make them look good but within some extent). Nore you can say that they were having that good day with Bryan. But he with his skill made them look golden. Even if he loses almost all the time people are impressed and that means something. Some wrestlers need to win to stay relevant, but not him. That means that he is over. Heavy over with the fans...

Y know, I can't argue with that. Everyone but the ROH faithful was calling this guy the best in the world and so many people feel into the tired, garbage that Michael Cole was spitting out for much of 2010 and 2011. Bryan has and always been pretty awesome.

I undestand the sentiments and frustartion of the OP, Try Hard With A Vengeance. Bryan is the hottest guy in the WWE right now. The way he electrified the crowd on Smackdown and has been doing is truly phenominal. This guy right now could be making waves in any era of the WWE if he was there. You can't fake that crowd reaction. Look at the way Bryan effortlessly goes from one impact move to the suicide dive, how he moves so fluidly. He is so good because he groomed himself all over the world. And everything he does in the ring he could have done on Day 1 of his WWE career. When he came in though, we get fed his WWE slant, "He hasn't faught in the WWE bright lights so he has to prove himself" which is true but Bryan had the goods from Day 1, just like CM Punk had the good from Day 1. Just because a guy doesn't look like Scott Steiner and doesn't have height of Kevin Nash doesn't mean he's gonna be a bust and can't be the best wrestler in the world. People need to have some faith, not be so high and mighty, and do a little reseach sometimes.

*Are you Ryback?

Holy Cow did I just belly laugh out loud.. scared my dog... (a beagle named Flea)

It looks now that the DB heel turn is becoming the DB 2nd ranked baby-face in the business turn. I was hoping for Ambrose Bryan US title matches.. Now I think we may see Ziggler Bryan World title match at Summerslam, they will tear the house down. Last night was legit "Raw is Bryan" he stole the show.

Imagine this possible Summerslam Card...
WWE Title - Cena vs. Punk w/Heyman (I think they panic and pull the trigger, might be early but I like it)
World Title - Ziggler vs. Bryan
Non Sanctioned - HHH vs. Axel w/Heyman.
Tag titles - Reigns and Rollins vs. Taker and Kane, Tag Titles
US Title - Ambrose vs. a face, Sheamus maybe..
IC Title Fandango vs. Jericho in the rubber match..
Big E vs. Mark Henry

Just a thought...

Daniel Bryan is a fantastic in-ring talent. Essentially he's this generation's Eddie Guerrero or Chris Benoit, he can make anybody look good in the ring. Personally I think he's still missing that "it" factor to make it to the top of the card and stay there, he needs to find something unique to push him to that next level.
