Orton VS Cena.... again?

Broski_of_the_week

Occasional Pre-Show
Now hear me out on this one, I may have been wrong about Zack Ryder being the future of the WWE... I may have been wrong about Brock Lesnar leading the Shield... I may have been wrong in thinking Hornswoggle would be the Raw GM (oh waiittt... that happened!) but wait for this new crackpot theory of mine!

OK so we allll know how John Cena is Mr. Mcmahons blue eyed shining star, and we also know that Triple H and Randy Orton have history, including times when they have been allies in Evolution. We also know that John Cena is WWE Champion and Randy Orton holds the MITB briefcase. And on top of this we also know that 'HHH v McMahon: The Painfully Slow Saga' will continue until next years Wrestlemania. So the idea I'm proposing (and i'm not gonna write it like: 'AND THEN ORTONS MUSIC HITS AND BOOM BANG MICHAEL COLE SCREAMS VINTAGE ORTON!!! BLAH BLAH like the budding little scriptwriters on here do, Im just gonna give you a vague outline):

What if the Orton v Cena feud we MIGHT be seeing in the near future ties in to the McMahon v HHH feud? Here are the pros:

A) It stops petty squabbles about Brad Maddox and Vickie between the McMahons, nobody likes GM storylines anymore, especially ones that seem so pointless as this (considering there are no actual wrestlers involved, unless we are all expecting a Maddox v HHH WM bout)
B) It means that the traditional MITB story of 'When will he?' has a little extra twist as HHH and Vince become involved in encouraging/discouraging Orton to do it.
C) It means its not ALLLL about Orton v Cena AGAIN.
D) It means that Cena can have meaningful feuds with other deserving wrestlers throughout the next year and still have the Orton storyline brewing thru the actions of HHH and Vince rather than it just be forgotten about, maybe teased a few times etc etc like the usual formula.

And now to the cons!:

A) It means Cena cant really lose the title for the next year, which Im sure a lot of fans would love as he's once again beating people like Daniel Bryan who may deserve some time with the strap.
B) A wwe storyline involving the McMahons and Cena AND Orton?! It'll make a lot of smarks cry.
C) Kinda similar to point b, The majority of WWE TV is already devoted to these stars and in a time where they are trying to push new up and comers, this would stop a lot of talent getting the pushes they deserve.

People like questions to answers on here I've seen so heres a couple to ponder over and maybe write some longwinded replies to:
- Do you think this has a possibility of happening?
- Would you even want this to happen?
-are there any other major pro's or con's to consider?
- If a is 32 and b is 12, what is c if c=2a + b - 13b/6? (I have no idea either...)

Answers on the back of a self addressed envelope please! ;)

I do think this has a possibility of happening!!

I want this to happen!!

Cons – John Cena vs. Randy Orton and Vince McMahon vs. Triple H. We’ve seen these match ups before, which could feel repetitive.

Pros – John Cena w/ Vince McMahon vs. Randy Orton w/ Triple H is a WrestleMania worthy match. The key is to keep both as Faces. This also keeps VKM and HHH outside the ring as managers. That’s what will make this different from their previous encounters. This could very well put the Cena / Orton rivalry up there with Austin / Rock.

I don't think this will work. Vince is the clear heel here so if Cena takes his side he will have to turn heel, and that is never happening in a million years. I saw this idea of The Shield w/Vince McMahon vs Evolution (HHH, Orton and Batista) and I think this fits better.

A straight up Cena vs Orton match though has a much high chance of happening and will probably still draw.

To be honest, WWE ran Cena vs. Orton so deep into the ground before that I doubt they can pull it off again, even though it's been years since the last run in. I can more see Bryan winning the title off Cena at Summerslam, Orton cashing in and turning heel and continuing the Bryan/Orton feud with Cena there for one or two triple threat matches before moving on to some personal beef with another top heel.

People are automatically assuming Cena will be the champion when Orton cashes in. I actually am in the minority who thinks Bryan will beat Cena at SS and Orton will either cash in right after, or attempt to cash in but end up not having the match count.

I wouldn't bank on Cena/Orton happening.

Id love too see Orton v Bryan at Slam and Bryan win it and Orton cash it in on Bryan turning Orton uber heel and Bryan uber face all in one shot. Then bam, theres your WWE title feud that will kick all kinds of a--.

I think you've been on this website for so long that you've literally left yourself with nothing else to spend your creative mojo on.

Even though you don't deserve it, I'll take your posting seriously.

That does sound like a great idea for a storyline, but it involves John Cena. You present a very creative and thoughtful series, but it involves John Cena. Randy Orton being subjected to political pressure as a storyline would be very interesting in that they could also throw in offhand comments about his wellness violations and past occurrences of misconduct, but it would involve John Cena.

John Cena is the ultimate con to ANY potentially brilliant storyline because John Cena has to be very loud about his role in whatever storyline he's in. Throughout the entirety of your storyline, John Cena would throw in a stupid promo where Randy would have to set John up for a stupid wisecrack.

John Cena is the Jerry Seinfeld of the pro-wrestling world. He doesn't act, he's acted upon. He doesn't do anything interesting, interesting things happen to him. Randy can have the briefcase and a storyline where his bosses are making his life a living hell, as long as it serves John Cena.

Even though I wouldn't mind one bit to see them revisit a heel Orton and Cena feud, I don't think it's happening. In my opinion, Bryan wins the title at SummerSlam and hangs onto it until Mania, where he drops it to Punk. That's when they have Orton get in the title picture. So he might hang onto it even longer than Ziggler did this past year.

I just don't see him cashing in on Bryan, but if he does, he loses. Once Bryan wins the belt (it's happening, just maybe not at SummerSlam), he's not dropping it until Mania. I'm pretty confident about that one.

I predict an Orton heel turn out of this. He has been wanting to turn Heel for quite some time this could be the ticket. How many faces cowardly attack a face champion to cash in? If done right this could be a great Orton heel turn. I like him better has legend killer anyway. Just has the looks of a heel.

So Cena w/ McMahon vs Orton w/ HHH correct?

The sounds better reversed cause Orton is more ruthless then Cena, so he and Vince can plot against Cena. Likewise HHH is so supposed to do whats good for businessso he'd protect Cena anyway possible.

Not that it matters tho cause this will get shit on, and a 1v1 match will be enough of a draw.

Jesus let's hope not. I know it's been almost 4 years, but I personally have no interest in seeing Orton/Cena again regardless of what kind of story they are telling inside and outside the ring. They never had bad matches. But none of them stand in my mind as epic either. And I attended Bragging Rights 09 when they had their 1 hr Iron Man match. That was their best match IMO.

I just don't want to see the 4 big personalities collide, especially not for WM because it eliminates too many other possibilities for matches. But that's just me. I would take Edge/Cena 523 before another Cena/Orton feud.

I know I would love to see an Orton/Cena feud reignited because their rivalry back in the day back in 2007-09 was one of the greatest rivalries in WWE history especially with such classic matches that these 2 men had especially their 1 hour Iron Man Match at Bragging Rights 2009 which was their best match in their whole rivalry by far but to see it reignited all these years later it would make sense from a certain standpoint considering these 2 men are the biggest faces of their generation the most recognized

If I remember correctly, they put on some decent matches especially when there was a gimmick involved. I think Cena will defeat Bryan at Sumemrslam; Orton will cash in the weeks that follow and they will have maybe one or two matches. They will undoubtedly be good because these two guys are talented. Bryan will get involved at a later date.

As for HHH and Vince getting involved; I'm not convinced. I think the two feuds should be kept seperate. HHH and Vince will be fighting for the control of the company and I don't think the WWE title needs to be involved. Moreover, the idea of HHH acting as a manager is ridiculous. He is still capable of putting on good matches so having him on the sidelines is a waste of talent.

It won't happen. Bryan will win at summerslam and then orton will cash in. Cena vs orton was drug soo far into the ground that they couldn't ever make it better this time around. It's just being teased until Bryan wins.
