One Night Only - X-Travaganza

I'm the Tag Team Champions
I can't find a thread about this "pre-recorded" PPV which aired on Challenge TV here in the UK last week. Has it yet to air in the USA? If so please delete the thread. If not, please let me know and I'll edit this post with a review.

it aired last week i think. i downloaded it later. thank god i didn't buy it because it was seriously hard to watch. only decent match was samoa joe v aries at the end. but the whole show was utter crap

This show aired on April 5th I think. I doubt very many people ordered it. The purpose of the One Night Only shows....well...to be honest, there's no real purpose in them other than simply ordering a show featuring stars, some past & present, put into random matches. They don't have anything to do with TNA continuity. Basically, what happened on X-Travaganza stays on X-Travaganza. As far as I know, it's the same with all the One Night Only shows.

Exactly. When there's no storylines going on you will get this PPV solely for the matches themselves. I saw this when it was aired in the UK last Wednesday and I thought the show was crap. The opener was a complete mess. Crowd sucked and Taz was AWFUL on commentary the whole night he just did not give a shit at all.

Only two matches I really enjoyed. First was the Old School vs New School match. Good work but the wrong team won.

Then the main event. This match was great, Aries vs Joe, a completely different match from their Slammiversary encounter but still awesome both guys were pulling out moves I've never seen before from them it was also refreshing to see that
No finishers whatsoever were hit in the match!

I thought that Lynn's last match was the one where X-Pac tore his anus? It was that big tribute to Jerry a week or two ago.

It was Lynn's last match in TNA. He was doing the whole retirement tour. His match with RVD was pretty much an exact replica of their BFG 2011 match, spot for spot.

But overall this show was bad.

don't know guys, I wouldn't say the show was utter crap. Most of the wrestling going on wasn't too bad. It was also nice to see a show that was all X Division style wrestling. The only match that really annoyed me was Chavo VS Robby E. It just seemed completely out of place and Joseph Park being the Ref really hurt it. Other than that, it wasn't the worst TNA PPV I've ever seen. Taz was a bit annoying, and the crowd was typical of the Impact Zone, which is why I am glad they got out of there in the first place. The PPY was nowhere near as bad as it's being made to sound. I do hope they keep Petey Williams around though. He can still go.

I think there's room for spot-fests without a back-story! I quite enjoyed this PPV and thought Taz was lots of fun on the mic. The old-school vs new-school match was great, and while I would have liked Cameron in particular to go over, Doug Williams and Cash deserve a few PPV wins! the rolling chaos theory is always a pleasure to watch.

Daniels and Kaz stole the show for me, as usual.

Again as I mentioned in the ref cam thread, I have to give TNA credit for trying different things. I imagine these ppvs are a way to make a quick buck off of a cheaper ppv. I am all for a night of wrestling at a lower cost, but they need to give us something worth watching. I haven't heard to much feedback on these ppvs so I doubt many people actually ordered them. With the rising cost of WWE ppvs (70 I think was insane for Mania) if TNA actually put a good product out on these one night only things then they may be onto something.
