[Official] TNA Top-10 Rankings Discussion Thread

Its a good idea that is from a terrible managed company and this coming from a former WWE fan that lost inteset in their shows but turned to TNA but there just as bad...they need be organised first and then maybe its a good idea, and they shouldnt bury talent fans want to choose and only push the one's they think is a good pick

Shattered Dreams is either a "special" type of guy or a Troll.

* I would know, I've been one ugly troll in the past.

Based on any definition of trolling I have ever heard this comment means you are still trolling but I cannot fathom what "special" definition you have for it that means I am one.

Whoa, didn't know we had a TNA executive on our board. Or are you a psychic? You have no proof of this and the only real evidence out there (last week's Impact) points to thrown together garbage to try and make it appear that they're appeasing the fan's desires.

Well, this was on the page you had to click on to cast a vote for all of last week:

That’s right, your vote, along with that of the TNA Championship Committee, will go a long way in determining the monthly Top 10 Contender rankings and ultimately who gets a shot at the coveted TNA World Championship Belt.

Individual rankings are determined by a combination of weighted factors. These factors include individual wrestler career performance, won/loss record and online fan voting. So join in and help shape what you see on TNA and vote for your Top Contender often.

Each monthly ranking will be announced LIVE on Monday Night iMPACT! the day immediately following each of our scheduled Pay-Per-View events.

So be sure and tune-in Monday night, May 17, as we announce our first Top 10 Contender rankings after what is shaping up to be one of our most exciting pay-per-view events ever, Sacrifice.

I am still waiting for someone to explain how you read this and decided TNA was obligated to push Wolfe at all simply because of your votes after one week.

Dude, how many times does someone have to tell you. NOBODY IS ASKING THAT DESMOND WOLFE BE GIVEN A WORLD TITLE, ALL PEOPLE HAVE SAID IS TO GIVE HIM SOME PROPER BUILD UP AND GIVE HIM A LEGIT MAIN-EVENT PUSH. To attempt to clarify more for you....a main event push is defined as being promoted into main-event storylines, or given a big feud with a main-eventer, but does not mean automatically winning the title. If you want the rankings system to have some value or meaning, then you have to take the results seriously. That doesn't mean that if Bubba Love Sponge is voted #1 then he beats RVD next week, but if it's someone actually legit like Wolfe then it's different. (And DUH its early, but just because its only in the 1st quarter of a game doesn't mean you can't screw up) Logic still failing?

One week of voting is not the results of the rankings. The rankings haven't come out yet and are not solely based on voting. I do not understand how legit build into the main event in all of one week is possible. This is what I am criticizing people for. I do not think you guys are suggesting he should have won the title. I am saying you want some large instant gratification with little justification or reason. They did put him in the main event. I get the annoyance with the amount of time they wrestled but many are taking it too far. Are they really supposed to in the middle of a ppv build in which Wolfe is not going to be wrestling for the title make the focus of the product getting him over? Especially at the expense of the newly crowned champion? Build implies it takes time. Why not see what they do with Wolfe over the next month before crucifying the recent result?

According to reports.. this weeks voting is not for next thursday, but the following week. If you're a fan of spoilers you can go check out the spoilers for this weeks Impact! to realize why that is.

Ok on that note, lets look at the standing for the 3rd title defense.

From top to bottom:

Matt Morgan- Dominating the field with almost 40% of the vote. (71,000 V's)

Desmond Wolfe- Week I winner and currently in 2nd with 34%

MRRRRR. Anderson- 10%

Jeff Hardy- 5%

Rob Terry- 4%

Sting- 2%

The following part of the field all have 1% or below.

Rhino- 2,300 Votes

The Pope- 2,200 votes

Kurt Angle- 2,000 Votes

AJ Styles- 1,350 Votes

Hernandez- 1,285 Votes

Double J- 1,250 Votes

Brother Devon- 1,000 Votes

Abyss- 850 votes

Brother Ray- 750 Votes

My Thoughts:

The first thing that jumps off the page at me is that same thing that did week one. Abyss who arguably got the biggest push (even though it came off horrible and generic looking) is behind Brother Devon right now. Thoughts on Abyss fellow users?

Matt Morgan with a comfortable lead: He's about 11,000 votes ahead of Wolfe right now, and I don't see Wolfe making that up within the next week. Thoughts on Matt Morgan/RVD TNA Impact! Main event?

The Pope: What's the bigger beat down.. The one Mr. Anderson just put on you, or the fact the TNA audience doesn't think you're as pimpin' as TNA management. Thoughts on the Pope's low numbers?

Hernandez: What in the world is Hernandez doing on this poll? You are trying to sell a serious injury sustained just weeks ago, yet he could be back next week to challenge the champion.

Rhino: Maybe the biggest shock on this list outside Abyss' numbers. We haven't seen Rhino for months and yet TNA considers him a top 15 guy. Not to mention he's beating out bigger names in the Pope, Abyss, and Jarrett. Thoughts on the War Machine name getting brought up?

Now to my biggest thought on the rankings. I think when looking at this angle we are going to see 50/50 of users on here that either love the idea, or don't understand the point of it.

Which side do you consider yourself on?

A- You think it's great that they are allowing the fans to determine the rankings system.

B- You're a part of the people who don't understand why this weekly because you think it's got no credibility. When introducing the concept you most likely didn't expect Wolfe to get the shot right away, yet lose in a lackluster match on Impact where nobody expected RVD to lose.

A or B?

Abyss - Well, he's currently booked in the worst angle in recent memory. For all the talk about how "adult" TNA is, I can't believe one of their major angles is that Abyss gets his power from another company's HoF ring from another wrestler. He's massively overrated by Bischoff who I believe at one point called him "TNA's John Cena."

Matt Morgan - He was entertaining with both belts, but the angle ran its course. I have no idea how he is ahead on votes, but he has improved substantially since last year's matches with Angle.

The Pope - It's hardly "fact" that the TNA audience doesn't like him. He's very charismatic. They just prefer other people to him. Pope still pimpin'

Hernandez - I'm with you here. Hernandez shouldn't even be mentioned here.

Rhino - They are just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks. This is like putting Brother Ray or Devon on there. They know he won't win.

Honestly, the voting system is terrible overall if Wolfe's match was any indication. If they are just going to job out the favorites in 4 minutes, then why would anyone vote for their guy?

I also don't understand how they are going to keep the voting consistent with the tapings, especially 2 weeks in advance, unless the close voting at the time of the taping.

Abyss-This obviously shows that not many people are into this angle or Abyss Cena. He's been crap recently with his current angles.

Matt Morgan-I like him. It's cool that he's ahead. He could make a good dominator champ and put up a good match with RVD.

Wolfe-Hoping he makes it every week cuz they cant make him job to RVD every week.He should be IN the title picture right now.I mean they debuted him against Kurt Angle.

Hernendez-Why the hell is he on here? Isn't he injured? This would be like if they put Angle in the list.

Team 3D-They are just putting random people on here now...I would rather see Beer Money or Lethal on this list.

Abyss is so low BECAUSE of how he's being pushed. No one wants to see a NEW Hogan...especially since the old one is still running around WAY too much

Rhyno is making waves because he hasn't been seen in so long. WE WANT RHYNO chants should break out in the Zone

The reason Pimpin Pope isn't getting votes is probably because of how he's being used right now. Injury after injury after injury...it's pathetic that they aren't using him worth a shit

I don't understand why Wolfe is getting so many votes, unless there are that many people who cream their pants just because he was an indy wrestler

Wolfe is a stud... I think it's a little to early for him to get the strap since his main ally is AJ.

I think they'll give him the enforcer like gimmick in Flair's stable to where he'll get noticed more and more by the fans. This time next year if the strap is around his waist I wouldn't mind it one bit.

And everybody starts out as an indy's wrestler bro, It's not like you buy your first pair of boots and get signed by TNA/WWE. The reason people love him so much is because he was the best wrestler in the best independent circuit for a year plus.

Well honestly I have to say its an A, but here is why I think they are putting the people they put on there. They want to see if people take the ranking system seriously for one, and two I think they want to see if they are pushing the right guys and see who the fans want on TV, and three to see if they think anyone can knock off the current champion.
Now before you say anything let me explain.
Wolfe is a talented wrestler so he fights RVD and lets say he does it twice, now he loses, so they think well lets vote someone else, so than they vote in Kaz but a guy like Rhyno gets 15% of the vote while not even being on TV so now there going man maybe we need to promote Rhyno a little more, or they vote in Scott Hall so they start showing the band more I think the hope is the fans will show them who the right people to promote are

well, i know we're gonna see matt morgan vs rvd next with rvd winning..., i think, it's good what they're doing, but will we see any of them win?

to answer my question, yes..when? im gonna have to say ppv...im guessing after morgan, it'll be hardy or anderson...who knows,...out of the lot, i think wolfe should take the title of rvd...

they could get the top 5 and put them in a match, which could determine the no. 1 contender... but u know tna, who knows how they'll book it?

It is completely insane that matt morgan is the front runner. first, he is not a very good wrestler. second, he does not have any skills on the mic. and third, his current angle/gimmick that TNA has him in is completely ridiculous. Desmond Wolfe should not have been squashed last week and for TNAs mistake, they shouuld give him an extra match this week. the voting is completely rigged, otherwise im almost positive that people like the pope or hardy or angle would be on top because they are more liked by the fans than matt "both of us" morgan.

In my opinion I think the voting is bogus. I noticed that out of the 15 stars that are chosen to be voted on 9 are faces, 1 hasn't been seen in months, 1 is supposedly injured, 1 is taking a break to rest his body, 2 are a legit tag team, and 1 is suppose to be a heel but due to being an icon still gets a face reaction most of the time. And by looking at the results as of now the 3 heels are surprisingly leading the poles. Matt Morgan, Desmond Wolfe and Mr. Kennedy. This just seems to obvious to me that since there is a face champion that the top 3 contenders by vote are heels. Anyone else feel the same way.

I honestly don't think it is fixed. If it was then there would be no reason for them to put Morgan in the lead? Also why would they have a guy that they have pushed to the moon and is walking around with Hogan be the 2nd lowest voted wrestler on the list? 2 weeks in a row Abyss has been in the bottom 3 as far as votes go. If this was fixed they would not allow Abyss to be that unfavored.

This is a wonderful experiment to see how fast the IWC can destroy an already broken show. As fans we all have our own dream matches in our head and who we would love to see as a champ.

Forget the bookers, the writers, and the wrestlers. The fans have spoken. Instant gratification. Forget storylines. Throw a bunch of people together and give us lots of old man blood and keep telling us how TNA is going to the top.

Because as a fan, I don't care about storyline progression nor do I care about character development. I don't want to see my favortie guy develop or have memorable matches and promos. I want him to go straight to the top with a title shot so I can watch him get jobbed out in less time than it takes me to piss.

Honestly, the rankings are the stupidest thing to ever come into TNA besides Hogan & Bischoff and their wreck of a job running the show.

That's what I think of the rankings.

I honestly don't think it is fixed. If it was then there would be no reason for them to put Morgan in the lead?

The only reason Morgan is on top is because it is fixed. Can you really honestly say that 71,000 people, as of friday, Voted fo MORGAN to be number 1. With all the other people that are on that list.

The reason that Abyss is so low, is that he is obviously feuding with Styles and Flair right now. if TNA made this guy the champion, Whom he is currently in alliance with right now, it would make absolutely no sense. It would make more sense if they made Orlando Jordan TNA champion over Abyss.

So it makes sense to keep Wolfe in the 1 spot again? Why would TNA show the world that Abyss is not liked by anyone and have him with almost the least amount of votes? Stop over analyzing stuff people.
