New Jersey?

New Jersey?!?!?!

Could you have picked an easier state to ridicule? New Jersey is the Armpit of America. What a raging shithole. Theres some nice rural areas, but my god every city I've ever been to in NJ has given me the raging sensation of "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE NOW".

Seriously, NEW JERSEY?!?!

ARGH I hate when people call New Jersey the "armpit" of America. If people would take the time to get away from the turnpike and the cities, they'd see it's a beautiful place.

Yes, New Jeresy!

Oh I don't know, Rhode Island is only the fucking birthplace of the American Revolution, but that's not really a big deal right? I mean the Revolution only began in Rhode Island.

That New Jersey education system is amazing though, huh?

Aye that is a big deal, but that wasn't my question. The question was what is there?

Yes our education system is amazing and your point...

Obviously your education system can't be too amazing if you don't realize the significant historical importance of Rhode Island in the development of the United States.

What's there? How about Newport, which is so renowned for it's beautiful beaches and mansions that John F. Kennedy was married here and vacationed here every summer.

What's there? The US Naval War College, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the Newport Folk Festival/Jazz Festival (which is probably among the most historically significant events in the history of rock music; this is where Bob Dylan first plugged in his ELECTRIC guitar and influenced an entire generation) first post office in the US, the first Synagogue in the US, the first Baptist Church in the US, the oldest 4th of July Parade, should I continue?

How about the birthplace of not only the American Revolution, but the American INDUSTRIAL Revolution as well (first commercially successful cotton mill in US).

How about the first state to declare slavery illegal? The first state to fight back against the British (nice Gaspee shoutout). How about the birthplace of the Continental Congress? Still not good enough? How about the first armed forces in the US? How about the first state to declare itself independent of Britain?

So let's see...the state more responsible for the creation of the United States of America more then any other....or fucking New Jersey.

Yeah, you guys REALLY got me there huh. How can we compete with Atlantic City after all?

New Jersey wouldn't even exist without Rhode Island's role in the creation of this country. So I'd stop talking.

I'm not denying it's significance in history... Besides this thread's not for the state that contributed most to shaping or creating the nation... I'm still waiting for my question to be fully answered. So far I got that there's a tennis museum, Navy College, and a festival... Is that it?

mhm, and people from NJ can be quite stubborn when someone tries to sway their opinion

Oh of course! And besides in the end I could care less about the importance of Rhode Island. I mean Philly is a pretty important city, but I still think it's a total dump LOL.

Shame on you for saying that :smashfreakB: Rhode Island is the birthplace of America and has a tennis museum... Philly isn't a dump either... it's a landfill...
