Off the wagon challenge

For those of you who don't know,the "off the wagon" challenge is a beer money challenge when if the chanllengers lose they're fired and if they win they get the title.It's Tna's way of getting rid of released wrestlers and putting over Beer Money.First Petey was pinned and got fired.Then Lance Rock got pinned.But are both him and Rave fired?
If so,is Eric(Petey's partner) fired?
If not,why not?Are Tna changing the rules to suit themselves?
And who do you think is next?To me,Sonjay.
So many questions,got any answers?

They said during their match against the Rock n Rave Infection that whoever is pinned gets fired. So Petey and Lance are gone as I guess that was the way they were to be gone. The next Off the Wagon challenge would probably be Dutt tag-teaming with somebody else.

It really is a very good idea. It gets the bad guys more heat, has the guy leaving the company provide a service, and gives the released guys one last chance to impress all the indy promotions with their work.

Very creative, and a VERY good idea. It may just be a slight alteration of the "Loser Leaves Town" match, but I still like it.

it is a good idea, but they executed badly. If you know you are going to release Dutt, why didn't you add him with Petey, so they both could of left and then you could of released Rock n Rave infection.

this is stupid cause everyone knows it will be over at destination x when team 3d become the undisputed tag champs of the whole world (wwe is no included in "the whole world") first time ever that a tag team is champ in two of the biggest wrestleng countrys of the world. now i think its kinda dumb that team 3d is recognized in tna for being japans tag champs when i bet lax wont be recognized for being champs in mexico or were ever they won those titles. and the motor city machine guns are the other tag champs that hold gold in japan

I agree this is a really good way to get beer money even more over as a heel tag team but i still think it is ashamed that talented wrestler are leaveing the company eric young sonjay dutt, petey williams, i hope they do good in where ever they go

I just read hat the next match will be Beer Money vs. LAX.
What the-?Are they going to get the title or will one get fired.Unless there is an interference that disqualifies one team because I can't see either team winning.I can't see Beer Money losing the titles on Impact! considering how over they are and I hope that noone from LAX gets fired.And with they're title shots what will happen.
I could have sworn Sonjay was next.

It doesn't work for 2 reason. 1. They are taped and everyone knows who is going to lose so where is the anticipation? If they used it only at pay-per-views, then it is a little better. 2. They are burning bridges in my opinion. Would Petey Williams want to return to a company that embarassed him on national TV like that? Maybe, maybe not. Not worth the risk. Would they do the same to Kurt Angle if he was leaving? No, thus giving it less prestige. Just my thoughts.

1. That's only if you're stupid and read spoilers. I still don't get why people read spoilers, half the fun of wrestling is not knowing what happens. You can't blame TNA for you reading spoilers, blame your self.

2. I think Petey WOULD come back to the company. They aren't embarrassing him at all. I thought they gave him a nice send off. He had a tremendous match and didn't get squashed.

And, yes I think Kurt Angle would do the job if he was asked.

My thoughts on it; I think its a good idea. To me I think TNA is doing these guys a favor by letting them show off before being released. Unlike WWE who squashes the people leaving their company or doesn't feature them on TV for months at a time before letting them go. Look at Elijah Burke, he was off TV for A LONG TIME before getting released, that's more embarrassing then putting on a hell of a match on your way out of the company.

The guys on the losing end didn't renegotiate there contracts so TNA is just writing them off TV rather than have them just dissapear.

It's a great idea. Beer Money are probably one of the most established tag teams in TNA right now. They almost never win cleanly via finisher and pinfall. But that's why you boo them and thats why it's a great idea, because when Petey Williams lost and got released, the fans were upset because they obviously want Petey to stay in TNA being the great talent that he is. It was probably the most emotional thing in TNA in over 2 years

It gives Beer Money even more heel heat, meaning they will probably get one step closer to becoming a main eventer in the company. It also gives the released talent one last chance to prove that they still have it in them. And I mean, it must be a ratings grabber. This week apparently LAX is facing Beer Money with the same stipulation. We are guaranteed to see some something special. Either Homicide or Hernandez is leaving TNA, or LAX will become the new TNA Tag Team Champions!

This is an example of a gimmick that is great and isn't over the top, unlike a majority of gimmicks in the company. However heel vs heel matches just don't work, so don't expect Sonjay Dutt to leave TNA by the Off the Wagon Challenge. I hope TNA just doesn't release guys that actually have good use within the company. Petey Williams deserved to stay in the company, but that's an idea for another topic.
