Vince McMahon has introduced on the last episode of ECW, the newest innvoation, WWE NXT. NXT is the next generation of the WWE, and it will include 8 superstars. These 8 superstars will be mentored by 8 different WWE pros.

The pairings are as followed:

Daniel Bryan - The Miz
Darren Young - CM Punk
Justin Gabriel - Matt Hardy
Skip Sheffield - William Regal
Michael Tarver - Carlito
David Otunga - R-Truth
Wade Barrett - Chris Jericho
Heath Slater - Christian

Vince McMahon will make appearances every 2 weeks with a surprise and/or challenge for the Rookies. Mentees can be cut at any time by Vince McMahon and if McMahon cuts somebody they will be replaced with a new superstar in FCW. It will be a 16 week season, and after the 16 weeks, the pros will gather together and seed all 8 superstars, where the mentees will have a 8 man tournament without their pros helping them at all.

Host of the show: Matt Striker
Ring Announcer: Savannah
Announcers: Michael Cole and Josh Matthews

Wild and Young by American Bang hits the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida and the pyro goes off as the first ever edition of NXT begins.

Cole: Hello ladies and gentleman, and welcome to the not so vintage, debut episode of NXT. Alongside me is Josh Matthews.

Josh: Hello Michael, this is the next generation, and lets introduce the folks to the concept of this show and to do that, the host, Matt Striker.

Striker: Thank you guys, next to me are the 8 gentleman, vying for only 2 spots in the WWE. They are being trained by 8 of the best pros in the WWE, whether they grasp the knowledge taught by their mentors and apply it to their mic and in ring ability will determine whether they will gain the WWE contracts they all desire to get.

Cole: Alright, well now here is the genius behind NXT, The Chairman of the board, Mr. Vincent McMahon.

Vince: Tonight is the start of something new, we have 8 of the best up and coming talent I could find. But lets see if they truly are ready for the big time. Over the next 16 weeks, these 8 stars will battle against each other, and prove he is skilled in the ring and on the microphone. These stars are anxious to get into the ring and prove to each and every one of you what they got.

Throughout these 16 weeks, I will be here watching and evaluating these talent, and every now and then, I will give the Mr. McMahon challenge, where anything can happen including a rookie being replaced by somebody else, and these people will be the ones I feel who are slacking and not living up their potential.

The Miz’s Music goes off

Miz: Mr. McMahon, why oh why, in the World would you pair me up with a guy like Daniel Bryan. He has no charisma at all, he calls himself “The American Dragon”, how boring can you get?

Vince: Which is exactly why you are paired up with him?

Miz: He would be better paired off with grass, as they are both boring.

CM Punk music goes off

Punk: Miz, why are you crying, at least you have some party boy, who drinks and does all of the things I live against.

William Regal’s music goes off

Regal: And your guy has years of experience in the indy circuit, while my guy is some stupid hillbilly.

Miz: The indy circuit is not the WWE.

Vince: Shut up! You were all placed with your partner to teach them and make them improve so we can see who is the most ready for the big leagues which we will find out at the end of this whole season. Now tonight, it will be, Daniel Bryan vs, Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield vs Darren Young. And all three of you will be at ringside, coaching your rookies, and doing your damn job, or you will be fired.

Cole: Oh My! Vintage McMahon!

Josh: Indeed, but coming up next, we have David Otunga and R-Truth vs Michael Tarver and his pro Carlito.

Commercial Break

Savannah: The following mentor/mentee tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, WWE’S Carlito and NXT’S “Mr. 1.9” Michael Tarver.

And their opponents, WWE’S R-Truth and NXT’S, “The A-List” David Otunga.

Cole: Otunga is so fit, so well built, and he looks like the next WWE superstar.

Josh: Tarver is a former boxer and can knock anybody out in 1.9 seconds, he is no slouch either.

Cole: None of these rookies are slouches, that is why they are here.

Josh: And here we go. The rookie Otunga starts it off and he will lock up with Carlito. Otunga just slams Carlito to the mat.

Cole: What power by Otunga.

Josh: Here we go again this time Carlito avoid around and grabs the back of Carlito. Carlito then pushes Otunga off the turnbuckle. Sunside flip. 1. 2. And no!!

Cole: Early mistake by Otunga, he proved why he is the rookie and Carlito is the pro.

Josh: First match, there will be some jitters by these rookies, they might not show it, but you know insider there are some butterflies. Carlito gets control out of the frontside flip and hits a few kicks to Otunga.

Cole: Carlito then runs off the ropes and hits his back elbow.

Josh: Beautiful move by Carlito, he grabs Otunga and drags him to his corner and tags in Mr. 1.9, Michael Tarver. Tarver picks up Otunga and hits a quick clothesline. He then hits a few punches off Otunga. And Otunga hits the mat.

Cole: Now those are some physical punches, besides The Big Show that may be the most powerful punch in the WWE.

Josh: Cover. 1. 2. Kick out.

Cole: Otunga needs to make a tag, he is struggling early on.

Josh: Well he needs to find a Tarver mistake and capitalize on it. Tarver locks in a headlock, Carlito tags himself off the back of Tarver and goes to the top rope, hammers down on the wrist of Otunga.

Josh: Carlito makes another tag, to Tarver.

Cole: Look at the teamwork, you can tell Tarver is really believing in his mentor, the Caribbean Kid, Carlito.

Josh: Tarver has such power, as he throws Otunga off the ropes. Tarver ducked to early and Otunga gets a kick to the midsection and a DDT.

Cole: Key rookie mistake by Tarver, it may cost them.

Josh: Both men, need to make a tag, which rookie, will get to his mentor first.

Cole: It looks like it will be Tarver, Carlito gets in and he drags Otunga back but Otunga kicks him off, and Otunga makes the hot tag to R-Truth.

Josh: Truth is on fire, clothesline on Carlito. Followed by a second. Carlito ducks the 3rd goes for one but R-Truth shows his background with a split and then ducks another one. Truth his the corkscrew scissors kick. Its over. 1.2.

Cole: TARVER!! Great poise by the rookie to break it up.

Josh: What does that have to do with poise?

Cole: To have the understanding to break up the pin, shows great poise in the ring.

Josh: If you say so. But now, Tarver goes to pick up Truth for a body slam. In comes Otunga and he throws Tarver out of the ring. Carlito goes for the backstabber, but Otunga throws Carlito off of him turns around and Truth hits the corkscrew scissors kick. 1. 2. 3. It’s over.

Cole: Impressive outing by both rookies, Tarver may be 0-1 on the leaderboard, but he and Otunga for that matter showed the rest of the WWE pros, and Vince McMahon what they can do.

Josh: Indeed Cole, now lets go backstage to our host Matt Striker, with Rookie Daniel Bryan.

Matt: My guest at this time, Daniel Bryan. Daniel you make your debut against the best striker in England, in Wade Barrett, in our main event tonight. Any thoughts?

Daniel: Well, Wade is bigger then me, and may be the best pure striker in England, but I am the American Dragon, and I have been wrestling on the Indy Circuit for 10 years.

Matt: This is the WWE, not the minors.

Daniel: That may be true, but I have seen all types of guys and I know, nobody is more technical then I am, and when I lock in the submission, Wade, you have two options, SNAP OR TAP!!!

Miz: Well, what do we have here? Daniel Bryan. Unfortunately, I have been given the displeasure of teaming up with somebody who has no charisma like you. Snap or Tap, that’s cute. But unlike you, I have a real catchphrase.

Daniel: Yeah one a 5 year old can make.

Miz: Don’t you disrespect me boy, this is the big time, this is NXT, and every week, you are going to go through the best, which is why next week on NXT, you will go through the first Mr. McMahon challenge. And you will face, Kane. And if you lose, you get replaced. Now good luck tonight, and your going to need it.

Josh: Huge words, by the Miz, Daniel Bryan can be gone next week.

Cole: Bryan needs to learn his place, and realize that The Miz is The United States and Unified Tag Team Champion.

Josh: Well when we come back, it will be “The South Beach Party Boy” Darren Young vs Skip Sheffield.

Commercial Break.

Savannah: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing First, being accompanied to the ring by CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Serena, “The South Beach Party Boy” Darren Young.

And his opponent, being accompanied by William Regal, Skip Sheffield.

Cole: Two rookies, looking to make an impact in their debut, only one can come out 1-0, while the other will head to the bottom and be 0-1.

Josh: Skip clearly has the size advantage, but he is known for losing focus.

Cole: Well here we go, as you mentioned Sheffield has the size advantage, and wins the lock up and has Young in the corner.

Josh: Sheffield hits some head butts in the corner, until the ref breaks it up. Sheffield tries to come back and get Young, but Young hits a drop toehold in the corner.

Cole: Nicely done by Young, Regal should teach Sheffield to pick his spots better.

Josh: Ok, Michael you tell him that. Anyway, Young has a chinlock on Sheffield.

Cole: Perfect form there by Young.

Josh: Sheffield needs to use his power to get out of this. The crowd is getting into it to get Skip in it. Skip breaks out of it and throws Young off the ropes and he hits a shoulder block, he then goes off the ropes, HEY!! Punk tripped Skip.

Cole: Great move, by a former World Champ, he knows how to do it in and outside the ring.

Josh: Young tries to recover and attack Young, but Skip ducks it and throws Young out on the ring and ONTO PUNK! Great recovery by Skip, Regal still doesn’t look impressed, but can Skip keep it up and beat Darren Young, we will find out after this commercial break.

Commercial Break.

Josh: And welcome back to the inaugural episode of NXT, during the break you missed Darren Young get control, and all due to CM Punk and Luke Gallows.

Cole: Skip took his eye off the ball and it costs him.

Josh: Maybe backstage Punk and Young talked about their lifestyles and they may be getting on the same page here. Young now is in control. He hits a quick missile dropkick and covers.

Cole: 1, 2, and No. Close call there.

Josh: Skip still kicked out convincingly. But Young still has control, but oh wait, Young missed the 2nd dropkick, and not Skip can gain some energy back.

Cole: Typical bad move, which is why Young should go straightedge.

Josh: Let him live his life, but now Skip is ready to hit the powerslam, but wait Regal goes on the apron, Skip looks up at Regal, and Young gets the rollup. 1. 2. 3. Its over. What was that about?

Cole: Regal obviously saw something he didn’t like, but nonetheless, Young is 1-0, and is as happy as ever.
Josh: It looks like CM Punk wants to talk to us.

Punk: Now once again, I am far superior, as a wrestler and a mentor. Now Darren, if it wasn’t for me and my straightedge lifestyle you would’ve lost to some hillbilly, who drinks and chews tobacco. Now you need to listen to me.

Darren: Mr. Punk, with all due respect, I love me and my lifestyle, and there is no need for change.

Punk: Join straightedge or you lose all your winning ways. I showed you what it is like to be a winner, but trust me I can make that change in a second.

Darren: But Mr. Punk, I respect your lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean I should change.

Punk: Yes it does, Darren. Now choose, straightedge or your lifestyle.

Darren thinks for just 2 seconds.

Cole: Go to sleep Darren Young!

Josh: That is not necessary, anybody can live their life the way they want.

Cole: Punk just wants the best for Darren, and Darren needs to learn that.

Josh: Well, Matt Striker has some breaking news backstage

Matt: That is right guys, I am here with CM Punk. Now CM why did you hit the GTS on Darren Young, your protégé.

Punk: My protégé? Luke Gallows and Serena are my protégés.

Gabriel: Well Punk, you seem so big now don’t you. Give Young a chance would you. He lives in moderation.

Punk: And who in the World are you?

Gabriel: My name is Justin Gabriel, and I am the South African Angel, and I will put you in your place.

Punk: Now why would I waste my time in the ring on NXT, when I have Darren for that.

Darren limps into the scene.

Darren: Punk, what is your problem?

Punk: You and your lifestyle is my problem. But you know what I will make you a deal. Next week, you Darren Young will face Justin Gabriel, and if you win you can keep your lifestyle, you lose, you go straightedge.

Darren thinks about it for a moment.

Darren: Deal.

Punk walks off leaving Gabriel and Young together.

Josh: Well two blockbusters announced for next week, and we will see the debut of Heath Slater with his pro Christian next week. But now it is time for our main event, Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan, they are on the way and that match is next.

Commercial Break.

Savannah: The following contest is your main event, and it is scheduled for one fall. First, alongside him is World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho, he is Wade Barrett.

And his opponent, alongside, ½ of the Unified Tag Team Champions, and the United States Champion, the Miz, he is “The American Dragon” Daniel Bryan.

Josh: It looks like Jericho will stay at ringside and The Miz will join us for commentary.

Miz: What up fellas?

Cole: Hey Miz, how are you doing?

Miz: I could be better, if I had David Otunga as my rookie.

Cole: Can’t blame you for that.

Josh: Come on, Bryan is a great technical wrestler, and deserves some respect, he needs work on the charisma, which is why you were assigned to him.

Miz: I could teach a tree more charisma.

Josh: Well anyway here we go, Barrett starts off in control. Barrett shoves Bryan down with such intensity.

Cole: Pure strength by Wade.

Miz: Pure nothing by Bryan.

Josh: Wade doesn’t let Bryan get up following up with some stomps to the midsection. The ref breaks it up.

Miz: What is he doing?

Josh: His job. We get a reset here and this time Bryan gets out of the lock up and has the arm behind Barrett’s back and he then shoves him the corner. A roundhouse kick. Ouch that looked painful.

Cole: Josh, you think any move looks painful.

Josh: Look who is talking.

Cole: Bryan has a beautifully arm bar in the middle of the ring. Can Barrett tap this early?

Miz: Not a chance, Barrett is too big.

Josh: Bryan’s motto when he locks in that submission is snap or tap, let’s see if we get either.

Cole: Where is Miz going?

Josh: Get him out of there ref, wait theres Jericho in the ring.

Cole: Jericho just launched Bryan out of the ring.

Josh: Can Bryan overcome this adversity, find out after the break.

Commercial Break.

Josh: Welcome back to NXT, before the break we saw The Miz and Jericho interfere in this matchup. And that gave Wade Barrett control over Daniel Bryan.

Miz: It was perfectly fair, I was teaching Bryan never to get distracted in the ring.

Cole: That makes sense.

Josh: No it doesn’t. But Miz, how do you feel that Daniel Bryan, has been all over the WWE magazines, about his big debut in NXT, and you have never been on the cover of that magazine and you have been wrestling for years.

Miz: That is a travesty.

Cole: Bryan is in trouble right now, he can’t break out of the powerful chinlock.

Miz: As I was saying, Daniel Bryan belongs nowhere near that cover, I can run laps around Daniel Bryan, this isn’t no Indy Circuit, this is the WWE, and he will never make it there.

Josh: I wouldn’t no about that, but look at Bryan, getting pumped by the crowd, oh what a counter by Bryan. Bryan goes for a shoulder block but Barrett caught him.

Cole: POWERSLAM! 1. 2. Kick out. Barrett almost got him.

Josh: You got to like the resiliency of Bryan.

Cole: Barrett looking impressive nonetheless, and keeps control of Daniel Bryan.

Miz: Not a surprise there, if Daniel Bryan wants to be a star, he needs to learn from The Miz.

Josh: He does need to learn, but you also need..

Miz: Shutup and just called the match.

Josh: Uhh alright. Barrett is stalking Bryan, waiting for him to get up.

Cole: Bryan is wobbling, here comes Barrett.

Josh: Bryan avoids the clothesline, and snapmare takedown. Submission!!!

Cole: Oh my god! It looks like a bridging grounded double chickenwing.

Josh: Bryan calls it Cattle Mutilation!!

Miz: That’s what I don’t like about Daniel Bryan, that name is as boring as it can get, it is why he will never make it to the WWE. He needs to learn from The Miz because I’m…. AWESOME!

Josh: Forget that, look at this submission, Barrett is either gonna snap or tap.

Cole: He chose to tap, its over. Wow!

Miz: Excuse me guys.

Josh: Where is Miz going?

Cole: I don’t know.

Josh: Oh come on, Miz with the assault on Daniel Bryan shoving his face to the mat repeatedly. And now comes Jericho. Codebreaker!

Cole: This isn’t right. Even for someone as disrespectful as Bryan.

Josh: Give me a break Cole, Bryan has done nothing to deserve this. The onslaught continues, Miz is going outside the ring, oh come on!

Cole: Steel chair to the face.

Josh: Look at Miz, Jericho, and Barrett teaming up, posing in the middle of the ring over the battered Bryan.

Cole: Now this is just wrong.

Josh: Of course it is.

Josh: Well, Daniel Bryan impressive and gets assaulted for being victorious. The Miz needs to learn his place. Thank you all for watching the greatest, newest innovative program, for Michael Cole, I’m Josh Matthews, and make sure to tune in next Tuesday for NXT at 10 pm only on SyFy!
