NXT TakeOver: WarGames: NXT Women's Championship Fatal Fourway

At the very beginning of tonight's NXT episode, GM William Regal announced that the crowning of a new NXT Women's Champion would take place at the TakeOver event in Houston during Survivor Series weekend. The match will be a fatal fourway with three of the four women to be determined over the next few weeks via matches in which the winner gets a spot. As the winner of the Mae Young Classic, Kairi Sane automatically has a spot in the match.

Off the top of my head, the three most obvious choices are Ember Moon, Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot, though it's possible that at least one of them doesn't make the match. I'm all but positive Ember Moon makes it into the match as she's firmly established herself as the top name in the women's division now that Asuka is main roster bound. Possible alternatives are most likely either Payton Royce or Billie Kay.

I think the title is Ember Moon's to lose at this point. Kairi Sane suddenly coming in and winning the title might not sit well with some fans and result in a potential backlash but Triple H has shown himself to be quite good at reading these things in the 5 years he's been in charge of NXT.

I see no-one but Sane winning this. I actually was hoping she'd start a bit further down the card and build up to Moon vs. Sane at the Mania Takeover. Royce or Kay could also hold the title - as they've been well deserving of a reign.

Its an interesting time because we should see an influx of deserving title holders from MY Classic come through.

Putting Sane in is kinda lose lose. If she wins over the established Ember Moon, then wow, it totally makes Moon look like she can't get the job done and look at what that has done to Bray Wyatt.

If Moon, or one of the other ladies in the match wins, then Sane doesn't look as big a deal. I think what may be best, for now anyway, is to have Riot and Cross and then either one of the Iconic Duo in the match with the latter (hopefully Royce as I find her to be better overall) costing Moon her match and then build up Moon going over the two and then getting her big shot around Wrestlemania weekend's TakeOver.

Idk, maybe make it that Moon's crux is Japanese wrestlers because she can't afford not to win here.

The problem is that You really can't give the belt to Sane or Moon. Sane just won the mae young classic and winning the title that quickly especially after the last champion was Asuka will lead to fans comparing the two so this won't help her going forward. Moon's problem is that she lost twice to asuka so winning the belt this way make her look weak.

So you have to give the belt to one of the others girls. Me personally, i would love to see either Peyton Royce or Billie Kay win the belt and keep it for awhile by doing similar to what Laycool we're doing back in the day. They have a great thing going right now as the iconic duo and this would make them a even hotter act as a heel duo. Have them keep the belt until NXT: new orleans and then give it to either moon or sane.

It's a fourway. Anyone can win and they can make it so that no one comes out looking that much better or worse than anyone else. I think the new woman will win because the internet seems to really admire her and she is foreign but most importantly she is new and it sounds like no one else has been much of a stand out while Asuka was around.

Peyton Royce became the second women to qualify for this fatal four way title match.

I don't think that Peyton will win it at any cost. Expecting the winner to be either Kairi Sane or Ember Moon. I would surely prefer Ember Moon as it would be too soon for Kairi.

After this past Wednesday, we know who all four competitors in this match will be: Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, Ember Moon & Nikki Cross. One of these women will become the next NXT Women's Champion.

When you step back and look at things as a whole, it's pretty much anybody's match though I think it's fair to say that Sane and Moon are the overall favorites. However, they're not so far above and beyond Royce and Cross that they don't come off as bit characters who're there primarily because they need bodies to fill the match.

Given the nature of the match, since fourways are no DQ, Billie Kay will no doubt interfere on Peyton Royce's behalf but I think Royce is the least likely to win. Ember Moon has been chasing the title all year, she's got the ability so a win would be a satisfying moment for fans. Nikki Cross may very well be the most over woman in NXT, she's done a great job with her character and fans have really embraced her. Kairi Sane has momentum given she's the winner of the Mae Young Classic, she's got the in-ring ability and she's a plucky, traditional babyface that's easy to like.

I think they should've just awarded the title to the winner of the Mae Young Classic. But it could be a wise decision to have a buffer champion after Asuka and before Sane holds the belt. Any of the other three women would work.

Tough match to call, but I actually think Kairi is the least likely to leave with the championship. She'll come close, but I think she gets screwed out of the belt. You'll notice that Shayna Baszler has been omitted from all the qualifying matches, including a battle royal that used everyone. Don't let the handshake at the end of the Mae Young Classic fool you. She's a heel, and I suspect she's likely to cost Kairi the match. Good feud for both of their young NXT careers.

I'm hoping Peyton Royce takes it. The Iconic Duo have been a highlight of NXT for a year or so, so it would be a nice reward. Give Peyton a long enough reign and it could transition into a nice feud between her and Billie, as well!

Ember and Nikki's time will come, although it may not be NXT. I won't be surprised to see either leave NXT without a title reign.
