It had one really great match while everything else honestly could have been seen on any given episode of NXT.
I honestly fear that the quality will lower as a whole and that people will just begin singing its praises off name value alone.

Too many things going on with Kevin Owens right now. Cena at EC, Samoa Joe, Balor as #1 contender again, and the story with Zayn not over yet either.
That being said, you could consider this Takeover as a continuation special rather than a special that brought the main stories to a close. No closure on the Zayn/Owens feud probably is what's disappointing us. Had they went out and had a baller match with a proper finish, and then Owens brutalized Sami, I think it'd look better.

NXT is starting to become a victim of its own success. This is one of the weaker specials it's had, but if WWE aired this show, we would be raving about it for weeks.

I don't care if it was weaker in comparison. It was fun. Yeah, KO does have far too much going on now and Joe's debut takes away some of the draw to the Cena match here in the moment. But it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
So unfortunately I missed the show tonight (Survivor finale), but I can't wait to watch it tomorrow. Did they refer to him as Samoa Joe? I wonder if he will be renamed under a new WWE moniker as most of the guys (well all except Sting actually) have been?
From the picture I saw online, Joe looked to be in pretty good shape. He looked like he has shed some weight and toned up a little, although I guess it's easy to look that way when you are standing next to Kevin Owens (kidding, kidding). It should be an interesting time period in WWE, hopefully they don't mess it all up.
