ESPN Sports Minute with Jim Ross
Ross: I never thought I'd see the day when we finally got to the playoffs, but here we are. Let's take a look at each match in the first round of the playoffs.
John Cena vs. Christian
This is a division battle as Cena tries to put to rest all of the doubt that has been placed upon him in the regular season. He is coming off a five game run, but Captain Charisma won't go down without a fight. I expect Cena to get the win and for us to have a Division A showdown between the big red machine and NWL's most polarizing figure.
Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan
I have said it all along that if CM Punk can't get the job done, then Mark Henry will. I still stand strong on that statement. Bryan has done a good job of securing a spot in this years playoffs, but I don't expect him to get past the mammoth known as Henry. With Punk finally looking vulnerable, I might go ahead and go on the record by saying that Mark Henry wins it all.
Sheamus vs. Big Show
Big Show missed his opportunity to be the division runner-up, but now he will have to go through the top two dogs in Division C before he can prove that he is worthy of beating his Division D rivals. Meanwhile, Sheamus faltered in the last five weeks, but I have a feeling that this battle won't end pretty. I expect Sheamus to win this with just a little bit of luck from the Irish.
Ryback vs. The Great Khali
This is the battle of the unproven. Both men have the two worst records in the playoffs with 7-6. The final spot in the playoffs in the Smackdown Conference was a bit of a wild chase, but Khali sneaked into it. He showed dominance in the early part of the season, but I have a feeling that Ryback is going to cause a lot of ruckus in this tournament. I predict that Ryback takes the win and advances.
Meanwhile, Kane, CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Alberto Del Rio will be eagerly watching as they scout out their next opponent. I can honestly say that all of the four men mentioned are deserving of a bye week. I am Jim Ross and this has been another ESPN Sports Minute. The playoffs have arrived!
