I can't say much about Ric Flair that you guys don't already know. He's a 16 time World Champion holding the top titles in the NWA, WCW and WWE. He has held Tag Team Titles and other singles titles. he is one of the most charismatic Superstarts in the history of Wrestling.

Lex Luger

WHile he doesn't have the List of titles that Flair has he is a Champion in his own right. He is a 2 time WCW Champion and has held all the titles WCW had to offer( World, TV, Tag and US). he was the first Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion in WCW history. He has also won the PWI Rookie of the Year and COmback of the Year awards.

I'm probably not going to get too involved in the NWA side of things, as I don't know everyone and won't vote for or against someone without knowing all the info.

For that, I'm grateful that you provide a brief description of each guy.

Now, these two guys, I know a little about.

First, Flair. He is a legend, no doubt. Only recently retired and holds a great legacy in the sports entertainment business. He always seems to have gold around his waist, and knows how to both talk the talk and walk the walk. Flair can wrestle a good game, and I give credit to anyone that makes a submission move their finisher. He knows how to both carry and be carried, and he has done whatever he set his sights on.

Luger, on the other hand, is an underrated legend. He could have been much bigger than he was, and it took WCW to truly allow him to shine. He had skills for someone that is basically a power wrestler. I don't know if he is in the same class as Flair, but I can see him beating Flair in a one on one match.

As for who is the better legend? I'd have to go with Flair. Maybe he is overhyped at times, and his legacy is always flaunted, but he has been at the top of the business for decades. Flair has made more memories than most guys have had matches, and for that, my vote goes to Flair. Although, I now am going to look back more on Lugers career.

Pretty obvious here as well. Lex Luger was SHIT. Utter shit. always. he was at no time good. He had one of the worst matches I have ever seen, and certainley one of the worst WM main events against Yokozuna. Just horrid. No charisma, no working abiltiy, was very stiff, and botched regularly.

Flair, while being probably the most overrated wrestler of all time, was a fine working for at least an amount of time, and had charisma like a crazy. I am one of the few who found some of his late "im a crazy ass old motherfucker" work to be quite entertaining. Flair in a walk here

Haha I'm not ashamed to say when I was a kid Luger was a favorite of mine. To a kid he really was the "total package". Anyways Flair is the obvious choice. Even though I never was a fan I think he is tons better than Luger, now. Flair is good, but he's last stint in the WWE has forever tarnished his legacy with the IWC, but he really was a good character and in his later years he became very popular.

While I don't think Luger was shit he does not compare to Flair in any way. Flair is a 16 Time World Champion holding the top gold in 3 major promotions. He had charisma like crazy and he was one of the best at getting the fans to either hate him or love him. Flair is and always will be 'The Man'.

I'm certainly a Ric Flair critic, but even I in good conscious can't vote for Luger in this match. Luger was watchable as a green muscle bound freak in the late 80's. He had a very, very good run as US champion, and I believe that was the longest reign with that title still to this day. But you can't compare a guy based on his achievements with a midcard title to arguably the best champion the NWA has ever made. Ric Flair did enough in his early career to put himself over Luger in this match.

Umm...seriously? Lex Luger, legend?

WHAT?

Lex Luger has never, ever been legend material in my eyes. He barely did a passable job as main eventer. For some reason, he was hugely over but he wasn't anything special in the ring and was godawful on the mic. Lex Luger has also tarnished his legacy a bit too much...

Ric Flair is a name that is goddamn synonymous with legend. Some of the old-school stuff I've seen with Ric is mind-numbingly good, for instance his steel cage match with Harley Race...Ric Flair is just one of the best all-round guys to ever make their trade in professional on absolutely everything needed to become a star. Great ring skills, charisma and mic skills, as well as a passion for the business. If Ric Flair doesn't end up in the finals here, you've done something wrong.

Lex Luger should be utter and complete roadkill in this, but for whatever reason somebody actually voted for him. Think closely and you may find that there is little to nothing "legendary" about Lex Luger, except for his roid rage rants.

I voted for Ric Flair. This should be a dominating victory by "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair helped make wrestling into what it is today and is a hero to many of todays current wrestlers. On the other side , Lex Luger is possibly the most hated wrestler in history and many feel like he didnt deserve the pushes that he got from WWE and WCW. Both of these men are Legends but Ric Flair is by far the better man in this match up.

Flair against Luger. Lex had the (steroid-aided) physique and power to propel himself towards greatness whenever he debuted. He had the muscle to match the likes of Hogan, but beyond that the comparison stops. Poor on the mic and ended his career with more shame from all the steroids he'd done in life that have left the guy in a wheelchair.

Like Shocky, I can never call myself Naitch's biggest fan. His WWE runs and even the end of his WCW one (yes... I'm a youngish fan) were poor. But that doesn't take away from the fact that NWA Ric Flair was far more than the shell that ended his career. He was The MAN!

The difference is like night and day, Lex Lugar could've been great, WWF and WCW pushed hard for him, but aside from an impressive steriod induced physique, he was a poor wrestler and very weak on the mic.

Ric Flair might only thought of by the younger generation as an old man who's the dirtiest player in the game, and get's really excited/emotional, but the man is an icon to fans and pretty much every wrestler out there. He was a captivating NWA champion and has been part of some of the biggest moments/matches in wrestling and was a mainevent draw, selling out where ever he went. His later years might have tarnished his career a bit, but what he's done before surely makes him among the greatest and certainly the most influential wrestlers of all time.

So, Flair legend. Luther not in this case.

Easy one for me. Ric Flair was THE MAN when i started watching wrestling. His matches with Ricky Steamboat were fucking amazing, and i could watch them non stop. Now Lex Lugar was ok at best and hardly made any contributions to wrestling. Sure i know who the guy is but he fades from my memory every so often. Ric Flair is one of if not the greatest of all time back in his prime and I will never forget him. He was a hugh help in making wrestling what it is today, and I will always respect him for that.

Flair wins this. I Don't need to say the reason why. I can say why Luger should not win this. Luger lost to Hart in terms of who the fans wanted to be the next WWF champion. That is with the marketing machine that is the WWE. But you can say that Luger is PISSED now. He had the venice beach phisique that got Hogan a measure of his success, but yeah not going to win against Flair because he was a disappointment as a World Champ

I will save my arguments for Flair when he faces a legend. You can name star after star Flair has had great feud with and has put over. When I think of Luger I can only think of two or three decent feuds, Nikita Koloff, Sting, and who was the man who put not just LUger but sting on the map, I can't think of his name oh yeah, it was Ric Flair. Enough said.

Results: 29-7 for Flair, he goes into the 2nd round to face Inoki.

my thoughts: No surprise here. Flair is the most charasmatic entertainer ever. I know I've said it before but he could make you love him or hate him which is not semthing many people can accomplish. They can do one or the other but not both. He has held gold in ever company and had an influence on a lot of todays Superstars (Sting, HHH & HBK to name a few) I can't wait to see who wins the 2nd round match up.

Who voted for Lugar? He got seven votes? Seriously?

Wow. Flair should have gotten every single vote. This was a blowout, but it should have been a shut out.

Luger is garbage. Nothing he ever did was anything worth mentioning. Please, tell me something note worthy that he did. *Silence*

Flair, on the other hand, is a legend among legends. I don't really have anything to say for him that you don't already know. I'll save that for later rounds.

If you voted for Lugar, get help.
