Nikki Bella may be out MUCH longer

MERPER

Championship Contender
POSTED BY: RYAN SATIN DECEMBER 26, 2015
WWE Diva Nikki Bella is months away from returning to the ring … Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned — and we’re told she may have hit her last “Rack Attack,” because docs say it caused the injury.

Sources close to Nikki tell us the former Divas Champion went to see a neurologist Tuesday following her appearance on RAW and doctors said the bulging discs in her neck haven’t gone down.

We’re told she’s been instructed to continue rehab for 7 more weeks before getting another MRI — and if no progress has been made, Nikki will be forced to discuss surgery options.

Our sources tell us the cause of Nikki Bella’s injury was her repeated use of “The Rack Attack” finisher, and the neurologist was shocked to learn she had been doing it 5 nights a week. As of now, doctors say she may have to stop using the move upon her return.

Nikki just tweeted: "Yes it's true End of January I will know my destiny...Till then...All I can do is...STAY FEARLESS! N"

Now, I know many will toss this aside with a "whatever, she sucks" or something similar...

For me, and others, this is really sad news. I had really grown to enjoy everything about Nikki over the last year. She greatly improved in the ring, her matches were usually fun and besides that she's really beautiful and sexy.

Lots of injuries in WWE lately, makes you wonder about the overall future of the business. As athletes get bigger and faster more and more injuries will occur like with any sport, only when they happen to very marketable stars, it makes matters even worse for an entertainment product.

Divas division is greatly missing Her. Brie and Alicia Fox can only keep losing to Team BAD so many times.

I've been one of the Proud Flag Bearers for the longest time here. I saw potential in them when they were entering into a feud with Karma before she got pregnant. And for obvious reasons, I've always been attracted to their bodies... even before Nikki's surgical enhancements. I find the two of them to be very talented in the ring, and despite what the people of the internet believe, they have improved a lot since signing. I was even more proud when Nikki was allowed to become the longest reigning Diva's champion (which we all know means the current title, not all Women's titles). In fact, the only reason I even considered watching Total Divas was because of the Bella Twins. So this goes without saying that Nikki being injured is a terrible hit to the division, in my opinion. Nikki, to me, has what it takes to be the heel diva of the division. She's able to work the crowd and she has legitimate strength that puts her in a nice category.

I hope she recovers at a healthy rate and gets back in the ring soon, because other than Sasha Banks, Paige, Naomi, and Natalya the main roster divas don't appeal to me in the least bit. Brie has improved, and I do love her (as I do Alicia Foxx) but they're not Diva's title material like Nikki was.

I feel the need to address this topic and offer my moral support for Nikki Bella the human being. Yes I do detest her onscreen character and still don't believe she deserved even half of what she accomplished, but at the end of the day we're all human and I would never wish for her to remain injured. While I admittedly want her as far away from the Divas Championship as possible and think that her absence (not the injury itself, I simply refer to her not being in matches) will be good for the overall improvement of the divas division, I genuinely hope she will be able to recover.

Like Dagger, I'm not a huge fan of hers either, but the fact that she in injured sucks. Hopefully she will be able to make a full recovery without requiring surgery, and if she has too change her finisher then so be it.

As much as I dislike Nikki Bella's on-screen character, I hope she recovers quickly.

She's actually decent in the ring and okay on the mic, and she will provide depth to the diva's division if nothing else.

At this point, I just hope it doesn't end her career altogether. Anything with the neck, as evidence via Daniel Bryan, is really dangerous to continue wrestling.

Obviously nobody, Nikki fan or not, wants to see a person suffer a potential major injury for the sake of wrestling.

Luckily for her, with her real estate license and likely TV gigs via E! she has options to fall back on and keep making a good living if she chooses.

I'd hate this to be the end for her, but want what's best for the person behind the character just like with Bryan, Orton, Sting, and anyone else who has neck or spine issues as a result of in-ring work.

It looked like they may have been teasing Nikki vs Banks upon her return, having Team Bella constantly being beaten by Team Bad while mocking Nikki's injured status and booty twirl. I was looking forward to that because it could have been really good if they played Nikki up as the entitled powerhouse and Sasha as the scrappy "other world" vet.

But since that's been shot all to hell for now I say they should go ahead and give Sasha a strong title reign. Continue and finish up Becky vs Charlotte with Charlotte being victorious, and then move on to Charlotte vs Banks. Tamina and Naomi can stay on as her athletic muscle (since they're supposed to be funny or something) and she can win the title. Then move on to feuds with Paige and then maybe Becky or a short one with Natalya. Building up tension you can have Tamina and Naomi turn on Banks, by then hopefully Nikki will be able to return and have a numbers advantage. Nikki of course blaming Sasha for stealing her spotlight while she was gone and then...see above.

All my fantasy booking aside, I'm a little bummed to hear that Nikki won't be around for the time being. No she's not an NXT darling but I did find her to be entertaining in and out of the ring. I am excited that that leaves a big opening in the division, Charlotte vs Paige was meh...due mostly to Charlotte's creative fumbling. However a heel Charlotte sounds a lot better and it looks like that's what we're getting.

Like most injuries the bright side is distance, time to improve, and hopefully a fresh start when you return. I'm hopeful for Nikki's full recovery!

I don't mind your scenario only now I think it's time to scrap the "team" aspect of the entire thing. Of your 3 3-woman teams, only one is intact at this point.

Team Bella won't be intact for quite some time, and I have to wonder if now Brie decides it's finally time to start a family and get pregnant. She's been dying for kids, this is her opening with Nikki possibly out several months.

Paige already left her team and now Charlotte and Becky are feuding, or building to some form of split.

Just scrap the teams. Can be easily done with a Divas pre-Royal Rumble Battle Royal on RAW to determine a new No. 1 contender where Naomi/Tamina/Sasha go at one another and eliminate 2 of them.

I won't shed any tears if the teams are dropped tomorrow, I just don't think it's going to happen. At the very least Team Bad will be together for a while longer, their whole shtick right now is unity! and basically the female version of New Day.

I thought they might be ready to disband Team Bad when they were mentioning the "We Want Sasha" chants but they kind of let that fade out. Of course that's something they could easily rekindle with Tamina and Naomi being jealous of Sasha's obviously brighter shining star, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw Alicia in there to make another trio if Brie were to bow out. :lmao: The E just loves their teams.

I do agree with you about Brie though, this a perfect time for her to bow out. She did recently sign a new contract but a baby will let her ride it out. The E definitely wouldn't want their two TD stars off of programming but that's really up to Brie right now. The upcoming season is a lot of Nikki vs Brie, and I'm not sure of the timeline for filming but they could definitely play this up. If Brie gets pregnant the Bella brand will be nonexistent (hush it KB) until Nikki makes her return, if she can.

Its really a bad news..... I hope she gets well soon and without surgery hopefully..... As i dont like Nikki Bella, I am ok without her being in WWE Divas Division anymore.....
By the way, About the current division, I think Naomi & Tamina should dump Sasha and then Sasha becomes face and defeats them in handicap match going into title scene.... Have Paige VS Becky VS Charlotte at Royal Rumble Make Paige win. Organize a Elimination Battle Royal to face the champ at wrestlemania.... At WM have Paige VS Sasha & Charlotte VS Becky where Becky wins and Sasha is the ultimate champ

I don't reckon WWE will mind this anymore. Nikki Bella might not be in the future plans of the Divas Division. Both the Bellas have firmly stated that they won't be renewing their contract with WWE once it expires. And if I'm not wrong, their contract might end in a couple of months. So probably WWE won't mind them and as you know about the creatives they would've planned for Wrestlemania already and certainly the Bella Twins aren't going to be the integral part of it.

Actually, Nikki already said she was going to re-sign. Brie's the one who's still iffy on it apparently because she wants to start a family. With Cena, that's not really a worry for Nikki.

Honestly, I guess people know that I'm a fan of Nikki Bella (not so much Brie) so I'll just say, it sucks that she may be out for so long. She was probably the only thing I really enjoyed about the Divas's division (in the WWE) this year, other than Paige's turn and the debut of the NXT Women. At this point, she would have been a great opponent to put over people like Sasha and Becky, she's really the only one other than Paige that it means something to beat. Sasha beats Brie. Who cares? Charlotte beats Naomi. Who cares? This does nothing for them. Nikki is integral to the division in more ways than one.

Still, it might be good for Nikki to take a prolonged period if time off. Since getting with Cena, she's been around every week, wrestling (as the report states) nearly 5 times a week. A year off may be good for her. Probably won't be good for the division though.

I ought to agree that Nikki Bella is one if the best things in Divas Division of 2015. I totally vote for Nikki to be the Diva of the year. Undoubtedly. Her matches were exciting to be honest, I still can feel the pain of that Alabama Slam she executed on Charlotte on the apron!

But I totally disagree that her absent will be bad for the division. You see, she isn't Ceno or even Seth Rollins who runs the division. If there's a strong storyline. then the Divas Division is saved. After all Divas got a maximum of 30 minutes TV time and a match at PPV so Nikki's absence won't be a trouble.

I think that's exactly what she is. I mean, she did hold the Divas title for almost a year. Nobody really came close to her in terms of marketability. And she was obviously the most heavily pushed women in the company.

I meant, it will hurt the division because you're missing one of the only women in which the crowd is actually invested in. Other than Sasha, Paige, and (I guess) Charlotte, they don't care about anybody else. Thus, you're missing an entire quarter of the divisions appeal with Nikki out.

Well you see, I agree that she ran the division the whole year but when she went away WWE got firmly behind Sasha, Charlotte and Paige. You agree to that don't you? But in the mean time, when John Cena was out and Randy Orton and Seth Rollins got themselves injured WWE were contemplating what to do as Roman Reigns was nowhere connecting with the fans. (Fortune favours that Roman is connecting now). WWE never missed the Bellas have they? Nor the WWE universe either. And that's my point.

She could be the entertaining "diva" in the division (considering some of them are as wrestlers) WWE universe never missed her.

More so agree with Charlotte and Paige. They haven't done shit with Sasha. And Charlotte has failed miserably in getting over. What else were they supposed to do?

But in the mean time, when John Cena was out and Randy Orton and Seth Rollins got themselves injured WWE were contemplating what to do as Roman Reigns was nowhere connecting with the fans.

Neither was Charlotte. It's the exact same scenario.

WWE HAS missed the Bellas. They're missing them right now. The Divas division has been damn horrid, even more so with Nikki gone. The WWE Universe probably DOES miss the Bellas. Believe it or not, they have a ton of casual fans. Like, die-hard fans. They were the ones who, nearly single-handedly, brought WWE that younger female demographic.

That's false dude. You can't base your opinion strictly off of this site, which you do a lot. We make up a vast minority of wrestling fans.

Ah right, I really forgot about the casual fans. I was talking in the perspective of the real fans and I didn't include the casual fans. You got me there mate. I'm wrong about that, the Bellas really have a decent fanbase among the casual fans other than the other Divas. Props to you mate!

Nikki Bella's legacy in WWE is always going to be a controversial one.

Nikki is a reminder of just how sad women's wrestling has been in WWE, as a whole on the main roster, up until the last 6 months or so. Nikki and Brie are among the last remaining real stars of the Divas Division from when knowing how to wrestle wasn't remotely important to being a female wrestling star in WWE; as a result, people are still irked by their presence to this day and it's sort of understandable. The Bella Twins made friends with the right people backstage and became close to the right executives higher up. Since their return to WWE, after leaving for a year or so, both spent their time off actually learning how to wrestle and improved tremendously, Brie especially. However, what still dogs Nikki Bella more than anything else is the fact that she's been banging John Cena for several years now and that has afforded her even more influence than before. When it comes to backstage politics, Nikki Bella has played the game well and has used her feminine wiles to secure her spot; I get that some don't feel she "deserves" it but, at the same time, she's used her influence to elevate her career like nearly every significant star in pro wrestling has so I can't really hate on her too much for that without doing the same to everyone else.

I don't get some perverse pleasure hearing about someone suffering significant injury, whether I'm a fan of the wrestler or not. Part of me will always feel, like others, that she doesn't "deserve" much of what she's accomplished but, at the same time, deserve is a pretty loaded and subjective term; that's especially true in an industry full of politicians and backstabbers who're trying to elevate their own careers to the best of their ability

I used to think the Bellas represented everything wrong with the WWE, and to a point I still think that it does represent some of the major issues, with Wrestler Husbandry being powerful, but I have to give Nikki (and to an extent her sister) credit, for really improving their game and becoming better, even though it's tainted by the nepotism.

I actually have been missing her a bit on the show, although the generation of girls that have showed up in the past year have really stepped it up a notch, I do want to see how she competes within that roster after the injury (And with the supposed face turn she's scheduled to have).

And really, in the end, I can't criticize who Nikki sleeps with, because we've seen that pretty much take over the entire company, half the divas are married or dating wrestlers, even at the top HHH Slept his way into his position, so it's really just part of the game. (I didn't mean for that pun).

The Bella twins are super over with the female fans, ESPECIALLY Little girls. They can actually do quite a bit of good for the anti-bullying and become strong role-models for young women as faces, so it's something that can make the world a better place beyond wrestling.

Nikki, as well as being undervalued by many fans when it comes to her mastery of the mechanics of wrestling, is an absolutely essential character for the women's division. Without Nikki Bella, the gore from the flattened corpse that is the "Diva's Revolution" would have sprayed out much further. She's an antagonist. When it comes to WWE's women, aside from Stephanie McMahon (who nobody has been allowed to one-up since a fucking UFC fighter did it), she's the antagonist.

There's probably only one person in the division with the same easy charisma as Nikki: The Boss, Sasha Banks. Unlike Nikki, there's the sense that Sasha earned and worked towards and sweated and bled for what she has, so she's less valuable as an antagonist. Not that the WWE is interested in utilising her in such a role anyway.

As good as the Four Horsewoman are, and they're all fantastic except for Becky Lynch, you don't see the men's title being defended between the same four people over and over. There's at least five of them that do that.

At this point, I just hope it doesn't end her career altogether. Anything with the neck, as evidence via Daniel Bryan, is really dangerous to continue wrestling.

Nikki and Danny both? There's some irony, no? When first reading of her neck problems, I figured Nikki wanted to stop performing in the ring but still collect on her contract......until it runs out and she and Brie call it quits.

That might be a callous statement, or might not, yet I thought they would be out of pro wrestling by now; we've been reading for a couple years of Brie's ticking biological clock and Nikki wanting to work on other projects.

Were the times they said on the Divas show that this would be their last contract just a negotiating tactic toward staying on ("Oh oh oh, we need you Brie & Nikki! You can't leave! What can we do to make you stay? Oh oh oh!") or is Nikki simply ducking out early? And when do their contracts expire, anyway?

As for Daniel, never mind concussions; I think the reason WWE won't let him wrestle is because of his neck. So, if his sister-in-law is now in the same position, who's gonna challenge the validity of her injury?

This is what happens when you stick your neck out, I'm guessin'

Damn, terrible news. She had developed into a fantastic performer. And the rack attack was a great finisher.
