Night of Champions is no more.

The Codebreaker

Dark Match Jobber
WWE has removed their Night of Champions pay-per-view event from their official PPV lineup.

A few days ago, WWE sent out an email to fans asking them to choose their favorite potential pay-per-view name out of four choices given. One of the names was Vengeance, the former name of the Night of Champions PPV.

With the news of WWE removing the event now being made public, it now appears as though it will be replaced by a new event, the name of which will be decided by the fans.
That kind of sucks...it had some really nice posters.

What a shame. I actually liked the concept of NOC and think it could have been a possible replacement to Survivor Series in the big 4 when they were going to remove it.

What Vince doesn't get is that at the end of the day, there are more factors to a show bombing than just the people not liking the concept. Vince seems to think that if it's a WWE PPV the people will buy it no matter what is on it. That's not the case and it never will be.

NoC was really good. Seriously how many more gimmick PPV's do we need till we see "WWE Day of The Dead" where it's a all Mexican themed event where it's Sin Cara vs Alberto Del Rio in a piñata match? Like stop scrapping good PPV's Vince.

When they cut out a show or two and lower the price a bit so people will buy them more frequently and Vince says it has to be because of my newest concept.

So they scrap the one gimmick PPV that actually had an interest theme. Meanwhile Hell In A Cell still exists and PPV's are all still 50 freakin' dollars. Smart move for them.

HIAC is a ******ed PPV theme. Cell matches are suppose to settle big time feuds, they're not supposed to be used in one off matches. When did Sheamus vs Randy Orton reach such a boiling point that it had to be settled in a Cell? It didn't. They were in it because they were feuding in October. I think it was October.

And the WWE still does nothing to address core problems surrounding pa per views.

Shit economy and charging people $50 for 14 pay per views is still mind boggling. I know Vince hates the concept of the Big 4, but that's what people see still. Charge full price for those pay per views, and either cu the number of pay per views or cut the price in half.

He'll, at least Eric Bischoff has stated publically that there are way too many pY per views.

I also liked the idea of NoC, if they are going to cut anything then they should cut the HITC ppv, the cell just does not work very well in the pg era also remember when the cell use to settle those very long and personal feuds? Now its just whoever happens to be feuding at that time..even if its only been for like a month or two.

I'm glad it's gone. I don't need a PPV with all title matches. That's supposed to be all PPV's.

$50, huh? The only pay-per-views I'm ever willing to pay for are the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania and that converts to, like $30, tops. I would never pay for another pay-per-view.

Night of Champions was alright but I felt that a lot of title changes had to change hands for its gimmick to have a point. Not sure if that's how it turned out; can't remember the results. Ah well.

The concept of NoC was a good one, but as many have stated, the gimmicks are really running their course, out of all of them, EC really only works for where it sits, TLC and HIAC need to go, Extreme Rules needs to move, you can see the cracks showing with WWE changing the names to traditional names, but they do need to address the number of PPVs they have as well as the price. While trying new ideas out is a good thing at times, Vince isn't known for trying the sensible idea.

Hell in a Cell should be the main focus of PPVs that get scrapped. They're forcing it. It sucks. It's been said. I agree they should go back to 4, maybe even 5 a year. Hell I'd be okay with 6, 1 every other month. That would at least give some time to focus on up and coming guys and give them more TV time, etc.
