Night of Champions 2012: Miz (c) VS Cody Rhodes VS Mysterio VS Sin Cara [IC Title]

I don't know about you guys but I'm really looking forward for this match.

It may be a very bold prediction as Miz victory is the most suitable outcome to think about, but still...I expect some really big things to happen.

Perhaps Sin Cara or Rey Mysterio will turn hell as was previously rumored,.

I won't even exclude the possibility of this match marking the beginning of a Miz face turn and a feud with Cody over the IC title while Rey and Cara have their own feud over who is the best masked wrestler in the WWE.

This is going to be interesting.

I generally enjoy these types of matches, although I'm not really a fan of everyone competing in it. As much as I dislike the guy, I have to go with The Miz retaining. No other option really makes sense at the moment. Rhodes is busy trying to unmask Sin Cara. Plus he just had a lengthy reign with the belt, so why put it back on him now? He needs to finish the Sin Cara feud then move on to bigger and better things. Sin Cara winning would be really cool, he could be presented the belt under the special lighting he uses in matches, but he doesn't make sense as champion right now.

Then there's Mysterio. He might win this, although I don't really see it happening. Miz needs it more, honestly. If he loses this he would have nowhere to go. Miz has to retain so that he can not only help make the belt more important but also so he will not get lost in the shuffle. If Rey wins, Miz ends up doing nothing for a while. If Miz wins, all four will have new or ongoing feuds they could enter after the match. It could be a good match with a few cool high flying spots from Rey or Sin Cara. It goes on earlier in the evening, possibly first.

This should be a delightful clusterfuck. If all goes well it could be one of the most entertaining matches of the night; I expect one or two memorable spots.

I like where Mysterio and Cara are heading together and their inclusion in this match will further tease the inevitable feud between them, but for now I'd rather see them remain as a pairing. Rhodes and Miz, on the other hand, are less interesting, but haven't had much opportunity to face each other in the past, so I expect something to come of that.

As Dagger said, Miz needs the reign more than the others; Rhodes with the IC title again would be tedious, and Cara and Mysterio have their own potential program to build upon. I feel the Miz will retain, though I would be against Sin Cara having his first brief championship reign simply to test the water.

This match has a ton of potential. The WWE usually has a good formula for these matches in that the action isn't really chaotic and all the wrestlers get a chance to show their stuff.

All in all, the series of matches these four wrestlers have been involved in over the past month or so have been entertaining. I haven't been all that interested in Cody constantly harping on the masks of Mysterio & Sin Cara, but it looks like WWE has just decided to drop that aspect of it because Cody hasn't mentioned it this week.

All four hold some victories over the other and I'm not really sure how this will end. I think the WWE has done a good job of making this match seem like it's anybody's for the taking as none of the wrestlers has so much momentum over the other that it just looks like a foregone conclusion as to who the winner is.

Cody Rhodes was a great IC champ and part of me would like to see him win the title again. The Miz has the potential to be a great IC champ as well and part of me hopes that they keep the title on him. Mysterio would prove to be a good babyface champion, especially with a long run. Sin Cara's not ready to be champ in my eyes. He's just not quite there.

I don't see either the babyfaces winning because, last time I heard, the plan was for them to ultimately win the tag titles sometime before ultimately having a match against one another at WM 29. With Kane & Bryan now in the tag team division, I don't know for how long, I'm not sure if WWE has scrapped the idea of Rey & Cara as a team or not. I like the idea of having them compete as singles wrestlers in the mid-card division right now and use it to steadily build a rivarly between them over the coming months.

This has a lot of potential. Either Miz or Rhodes is winning this one. Likeliness is Miz retains, however, with rumours of Mysterio/Cara teaming up then feuding as well as the face that at the NXT tapings yesterday Rhodes was rather face-ish in his actions, WWE may be planning something else.

this match will be great with 4 guys that can really work the ring, Mysterio and Cara can really be the high flyers and maybe pull of some sweet stunts and we hopefully will get a bit of Mysterio vs Sin Cara which we all have been hoping for. I hope this turns into a type of tag team between mysterio and cara and they could go and take on Kane and Bryan and Kofi and R-Truth... I think these 3 tag teams could put on some great matches with eachother in the future leading to hopefully a Mysterio vs Cara wrestlemania match, still going to be interesting to see how Sin Cara will actually do in a meaningful feud.

I am going to have to agree with Dagger, and Diet Soda. Miz has the most to gain from a win here, and the most to lose if he loses the title. I want to see Rey and Sin Cara go on to compete in the tag division before they eventually feud. I think Cody had a long enough run with the title and see no need for him to win it right now. If Miz loses I don't really see anything for him to do. The only way I could see Cody winning is if it led to a Miz face turn and they feuded over the belt. My pick though is the Miz to retain.

Great way to keep Miz with the belt or great way to have someone else win it without him getting pinned. Thing is, Miz has done a great job as IC champion and don't see a reason for him to lose it this soon. Then again, Rey may have one last run left as some sort of champion and what better way to send him off than to win the IC title and do absolutely nothing with it except get hurt and have to drop it a few weeks later.

Either Rey Rey wins the gold, or Miz retains.

I'll flip a coin and tails says... MIZ retains.

Having seen Rhodes vs Rollins and the promo Cody cut before the match, I would be interesting in seeing Rhodes and Miz feud. Weird thing is both of them I think are now good enough to be face, although wrestling-wise and charisma-wise Miz suits it more. Give the promo a watch though and you'll wonder how much face potential Cody really has.

Rey and Cara don't need the title and Rhodes had the title and did nothing with it so I have no faith he will do anything better if he wins. Miz has had the title for a couple of months and all he has done is lose time after time like most midcard champions which pisses me off to no end. Miz has to win this one if they ever want the midcard titles to mean a damn thing and actually build it up as something meaningful.

This can actually be a good match. Rey always put great matches, Cody is a great athlete, Miz has been a pleasent surprise since he came back having good matches and well, Sin Cara...I think he can have good chemistry with Rey and Cody Rhodes.

As far the winner concerns, well it only makes sens for Miz to reatian here, no one needs the win.

As far as match-ups go for NoC, this is easily in the top 2 of the card IMO!

We hardly get Fatal Four Ways anymore & the IC title has become COMPLETELY irrelevant. Building some contenders & feuds around the title seems like a VERY wise choice right now.

My only problem is the outcome!

I really don't see Miz losing the title and I think he is one of the champions that needs to the most tonight. I don't like the Miz but I agreed he should have won the IC title when he returned. Problem is he has been bland & boring since returning, basically continuing the same boring schtick I never cared for & then he just starts losing & being put in tons of tag team matches. He is an AWFUL champion & has made the IC title almost more pointless than the US title to me at this point.

But Sin Cara isn't ready for a title (let alone the [what used to be pretigious] IC title)

Rey is older, just suffered a concussion, & doesn't need the title.

So that leaves Cody. Who already held it twice, did barely anymore than the Miz with it, & already had a whole run building the title back up & dragging it back down.

I'm just gonna enjoy the match & hope we get either a suprising title change or preferably a new IC title contender.

Miz should retain. After being irrelevant for months, Miz's character is finally starting to regain some much needed momentum. He's been a solid IC Champion so far, so I really don't see a real reason for him to lose the title.

Rhodes doesn't have a chance. He can be used a credible threat to win the title, but he won't walk away with the gold. Mysterio and Cara should provide so excitement for this match, but I don't see a real reason for either of them to win the IC Championship. It might be a wild spot fest, or it could be a disaster, but I'm looking forward to this one.
