NFL Week 17 LD

Turd Ferguson

DA-DA Da Da Da Bah Da Da DADADA
And this is why I have NO FAITH in the Patriots when it comes to the playoffs. Matt Moore and the Dolphins beat them up for a half last week, and now Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills are beating them up.

Only game worth watching for me today is the Cowboys vs. Giants. Let's see if Romo let's Dallas down again.

I'll save you some time: Yes.

The Fucking Jets are winning at half... but I'm not convinced they ahve this game wrapped up. I'd rather have the Fucking Jets score more than one TD in the first half.

Man, even as a fan...You cant feel like they deserve the playoffs, after putting on this horse shit performance with everything on the line....

I was actually thinking about this earlier. I mean, of course I'll be happy if the Jets make it into the playoffs. But the Jets basically let opportunity after opportunity slip through their hands. Even today, they should be fucking trouncing the Dolphins, but they're playing catchup right now. And they got, what, 4 false starts in the first half alone?

The announcers keep saying, "Well I wouldn't want to face the Jets in the playoffs, they're like a different team."

And as I typed this, we just lost the game. Fuck.

My opening post makes me look silly, but the thing is, they can't let this early onslaught/come back afterwards pattern keep recurring. The Ravens/Steelers would beat the Pats up and keep them down.

The one advantage that the Pats have is the fact that the AFC is having a down year. In the NFC I could legitimately see any of the 6 teams making a run. In the AFC there is really no substance outside of NE, Baltimore, and Pitt. Especially with the Texans qb situation being what it is.

The Jets meanwhile had an embarrassing season. I knew they would have a down year because they got worse as a football team in the off season but I still figured they could go 10-6 and get a wild card spot. The Jets need to seriously consider an alternative at quarterback because this year Sanchez showed he isn't the type of starter who can make those around him better.

Wow... guess the Saints will be seeing Detroit next weekend. I wanted Atlanta, but oh well.

It'll be a shootout but unless the Lions secondary actually shows up for once then they won't be able to stay with the Saints for 60 minutes.

Letting Matt Flynn put up 500 yards... smh. The refs made some flat out blown calls (Titus TD) but you can't expect to win letting up 45 points. That secondary better step the fuck up because we got the Saints and Packers in the first two games (should we win.)

There is not a single person who can make a legitimate case for Stafford not being a pro bowler.

There are many people that could easily point to Rodgers, Brees, Manning, the fact that the Pro Bowl was selected prior to this week and Calvin Johnson being legitimate reasons Stafford is not a pro bowler.

Some things I've thought today;

Saints have the best offense I have ever seen. EVER.

Detroit's offense is potent enough to beat anybody in this league right now.

Stafford should be a Pro Bowler, no ifs ands or buts about it.

San Fran may be the only team I can see beating New Orleans or Green Bay this year.

Manning had more picks, way less TDs, and he has the 3rd leading reciever in the league. All prior to this week.

Throw this week out and there still isn't a legitimate case. Obviously Rodgers and Brees go in ahead of him but no way does Manning deserve it more. Stafford led his team to more wins and has Eli beat in almost every individual stat category. Stafford may have Calvin but Eli has the superior running game and also has some great talent at receiver as well. Going into this week Victor Cruz is third in the NFL, just behind Calvin, in receiving yards.

It's actually kind of comical that a quarterback finishing the season with over 5,000 yards passing and over 40 touchdowns isn't even the first alternate at the qb position.

Nate - I rarely disagree with you but Manning is a better QB. Manning has Victor "Who in the blue hell is Victor?" Cruz. Anyone can throw lobs to Megatron and rack up significant stats. Megatron was in Randy Moss mode this year.
