Occasional Pre-Show
This past year we saw the Legion of Doom inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I was just thinking earlier of who the next WWE Tagteam to be inducted into the HOF should be. So the question is simple, which team do you all think should be next out of the choices in the poll?

IMO, these are the 5 tagteam that popped into my head first (then I added in the other option for anyone else). In my opinion, it would have to be either the Dudley Boyz or the New Age Outlaws. Now I know the Dudleyz are in TNA (err, Impact?) so the chances of it being them are slim, yet they have accomplished more then any other team in wrestling. As for the NAO, they were so over and so popular in the Attitude era that they made quite an impact while in DX. So who do you all think should be the next tag team inducted in the HOF?

Definetly have to go with The New Age Outlaws. Those guys are without a doubt the most deserving team on the list, their credentials and their effect on wrestling take it. They are 5 time WWF Tag Team Champions and played a key role in the Degeneration X stable. On their own Road Dogg Jesse James and Bad Ass Billy Gunn were not great, but as a Tag Team they were one of the greatest, they are Tag Team legends and they deserve their spot in the Hall Of Fame.

I had to pick Demolition just because they were the most dominating team for a few years and @Chauncy Talon: The rock n Roll Express did have a brief WWE Run for a few months back in 1998 against the Headbangers. Another team that needs to be inducted are Badd Company (Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka) from the AWA cause they ran that tag team division but laster was reunited in the WWF as The Orient Express as Kato and Tanaka.

It should definitely be Demolition. They were probably the most dominant team WWE has ever had. They were three time tag team champions and their first reign was a record 15 months. From March 1988 through August 1990 Demolition held the titles for all but six months. What’s most impressive about this is they were dominant during a time when tag team wrestling was great. It’s not like how it’s been recently. There were actually a lot of good teams back then. Any of them could easily be champions today. The British Bulldogs, The Rockers, The Powers of Pain, Strike Force, The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers, The Twin Towers, The Bushwhackers, The Islanders, The Young Stallions, and The Killer Bees are all teams who went without the titles during Demoltion’s reigns. I’m sure there are some I’m forgetting too. The Brain Busters and Colossal Connection briefly took the belts from Demolition only to lose them back a couple months later. The Hart Foundation ended their last reign, but Demolition had success against them during the first reign.

Demolition were originally hated heels. They were booked strong and were considered huge favorites to take the belts off Strike Force at WM4. It’s not often popular champions are such a huge underdog. I was eight years old and I was legit scared of Demolition. As a young kid I always thought the good guys would win, but even at that young age I couldn’t imagine how Strike Force could survive Demolition. In the summer of 1988 The Powers of Pain were brought in to be a counterpart to Demolition. The fans eventually grew to like Demolition better which led to the famous double turn at Survivor Series. Whoever was put against Demolition was considered the underdog. It was simply unthinkable that they would lose. It’s a shame this team has pretty much been forgotten. They never get mentioned when discussing the Hulkamania era but they were a very big part of it.

I could be mistaken but I think Ax has had some legal disagreements with WWE in the past. I think he tried to sue WWE for the rights to the Demolition gimmick and lost. I don’t know if that’s true, but if it is that would explain why Demolition is never mentioned anymore. That’s a shame because they were a damn fine team.

Im going to have to pick other, to say the outlaws are the most deserving is just nuts....5 years in the big leagues?billy gun was excellent but that is just about it. the steiners are deserving but scott steiner sealed his fate years ago when he ran his mouth off about HHH.Doom is very good but Ron Simmons should be in the hall by himself, and they werent around long enough. the midnight express would be good, but which version?? was stan lane better than dennis condrey? (i think so but thats just me) the nasty boys are alright choices...down the road when the others are already in.and the dudleys had the same kind of 5 or 6 years of quality in the bigs.harlem heat is alright but booker deserves it by himself.

the deserving pick is the Rock N Roll Express!!!!!! Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson electrified the crowd and won everywhere they went. you could probably argue that the Rockers were a rip off of these two and unlike other ppl on this list, Morton and Gibson put in years of work all over the world, not just a few years in wwe/wcw and in the toilet league of t.n.a. although i bet morton and gibson could probably out wrestle whoever t.n.a has. Impact wrestling, pardon.

One tag team that I think should get in is The Natural Disasters. More or less because of John Tenta. I remember as a kid, Earthquake literally scared the shit out of me when he was first feuding with Hogan. Then fast forward he formed the tag team with Tugboat and they dominated tag team wrestling.

I think everybody is forgetting one team. I know all of their work was in WCW, but with Booker T back in the WWE, I think Harlem Heat is very deserving. Although, Booker T may be deserving on his own.

Here's my other,

Arn & Tully!

Granted Arn's resume will most likely merit him a solo induction..well deserved one indeed.

But Tully can't be overlooked, back in the day he was just as much a technician as Arn was.

Demolition with out doubt they were the most feared tag team in the WWF after Crush was put in the mix, they had the '' Free Bird Rule '' when they won the WWF World Tag Team Titles to this day when I watch My Summer Slam anthology dvds or my Survivor Series DVD's I still get goosebumps watching there matches I hope they get put in the WWE Hall Of Fame and I hope to god they do not put any more Celebs in the WWE just put in the Wrestlers.

How about:

The Fabulous Freebirds - The Von Erichs were inducted in 2009 and I can't remember a group that feuded with them more than the Freebirds! The "Three Man Gang" even would defend the tag titles under "Freebird Rule" which allowed any two members to defend the titles... plus they were part of the Rock & Wrestling Connection under Cyndi Lauper in the WWF.

OR

Loverboy Dennis, Beautiful Bobbie, Sweet Stan, and Jim Cornette - otherwise known as The Midnight Express! They fueded for years with the Rock N Roll Express (another team that should be considered) and made tag wrestling interesting.

When I think of tag team wrestling, I think of the above 3 and LOD... and honestly, I'm surprised they're all not already in the WWE Hall of Fame.

I thought of Demolition before I clicked the thread. Glad others agree with me. I also think 'The British Bulldogs' or 'Wild Samoans' deserve honourable mention. No doubt they'll make it into the Hall of Fame, but Demolition will probably be the next team.

DEMOLITION!!! WOOOOO!! Here comes the Ax, here comes the Smasher, here comes the Hall Of Fame 2012!

Ax and Smash will always be my favorites!! The paint, the masks, the music, they had it all! As a child I HATED Hogan and all the babyfaces. I always rooted for the heels, more specifically DEMOLITION! And as faces they were even better.

I would argue that Demolition got nearly as big of a pop when they beat Andre/Haku at Wrestlemania 6 as Warrior/Hogan did later that night.
Demolition were more OVER than LOD ever were in the WWF.

Road Warrior ripoff or not, in my opinion they're better than LOD. Maybe not as original, but they took what the Road Warriors were doing and perfected it.

And if for no other reason, they should go in just so we can hear that kickass theme music one last time! Best. Theme Music. Ever.

They're the reason I started watching wrestling in the first place. I wanted to go out on Halloween 1989 as AX! LOL. Can't imagine what my mother must have been thinking when I told her I wanted to wear a gimp mask and assless leather chaps with makeup on my face for Halloween. And this was the cold canadian autumn, so I would have undoubtedly got pneuomnia. Not to mention the theraphy I would have had to have undergone for the rest of my life. lol.

Ax and Smash haven't been together at a WWF event since Survivor Series 1990. It's been a while. Seeing them go into the HOF would bring my wrestling life full circle.

Can we get a Demolition Avatar on this site?

Well, it's overshadowed with the Hitman already being in the HOF, but the Hart Foundation is a no brainer. Perhaps the most consistent and sound team of the 80s brought the house down with the likes of Demolition, Rockers, Killer Bees, Rougeaus, Bulldogs, etc. They were an excellent team both as heels and as faces. Not too many teams had a combination of a no nonsense technician like Bret with the power and personality of Anvil. Props to Jimmy Hart in the early years as well. One of the best tag teams of their era, arguably the best there is, the best there wa....oh wait.

Would love to see the Hart Foundation and British Bulldogs go in together. Couldn't have one without the other. Same for The R-n-R Xpress and all members of the Midnight Express. Still hard to leave out Freebirds also. Harlem Heat were great also (they did spend time in the WWF with Sista Sherri as their manager, although that's not really criteria to make the Hall).
Probably not gonna be very popular for the next statement, but I was never really high on Demoltion. They were just knockoffs of The Road Warriors/LOD to me. I never really bought into them that much.

I wouldnt mind seeing the steiner brothers go in, but demolition wont happen because of the terms there on, and probably cant see the outlaws either

I thought of Demolition before I clicked the thread. Glad others agree with me. I also think 'The British Bulldogs' or 'Wild Samoans' deserve honourable mention. No doubt they'll make it into the Hall of Fame, but Demolition will probably be the next team.

The Wild Samoans were inducted in '07. As for who I think should be inducted.

1. Demolition
2. British Bulldogs
3. Midnight Express (Bobby, Dennis, Stan, & Cornette)
4. Harlem Heat
5. Rock and Roll Express

I don't think the New Age Outlaws are gonna be inducted anytime soon, if ever because Billy Gunn works in TNA as an agent. Plus, didn't Vince try to sue them a couple of years ago over their DX parody?

Demolition sticks out in my head. At least, their theme song is stuck in my head.

NAO aren't going to be inducted after the Voodoo Kin Mafia attack, I see that angle being a sore spot for a while.

Demolition all day everyday, unless I'm mistaken, still record holders for longest tag team title run in the wwf/e ever. Prolly won't see it though as they have some bad blood with Vince, they started using the name Demolition outside of the WWF as Bill felt he had the rights to it because he didn't feel Vince lived up to his end of the contract pushing him out of the WWF, so Vince slapped them with a cease and desist order.... can still hope for it though as they are, in my eyes, the most deserving tag team of all time, during an interview at one of the survivor series they were with Hulk and Jake The Snake and I remember thinking then and now "it just doesn't get any better than that"

I have to say THE MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW . The Andersons, [ Gene , Lars and Ole Anderson ].

Everyone you are naming followed in thier footsteps. The Andersons were over everywhere they went. Not only did they win belts everywhere [ 37 Championships to be Exact ] . They dominated the territories and were the first tag team to have a signature style of wrestling where they would simply work on one body part.

They helped put Ric Flair over when he entered the sport and also did the same for Arn Anderson by giving him their famous rub.

These guys are were a legitimate tag team that came as a package and were amazing mat technicians and could cut promos better than anyone at the time.

I have no idea why vince hasn't inducted them into the HOF. They created the mold for tag teams well before LOD, Demolition and the Free Birds.

Fabulous Freebirds
Michael Hayes works for WWE, why hasn't this happened?

I don't see Midnight Express going in, since Jim Cornette hates WWE and would probably go crazy on some people backstage.

I wouldn't mind seeing Demolition in. But maybe Rock n Roll Express too.

I'm going to also have to second a vote for the Midnight Express. Both they and the RnR express were better on their worst night than any team you have on the list.

From that list I would go with Demolition. I loved them back in the day.

Definately agree with Badd Company/Orient Express. I am somewhat of a Tanaka mark, but seein what he has done for the "E" in the past being involved with some of the best Tag Team era's. Hell Janety broke his neck in the middle of the ring, give him a little recognition.

Demolition without a doubt. My favorite tag team growing up. Ax & Smash were my favorite combo but if they want to throw Crush in & do the hall of fame, I'm more than okay with that. They are the longest reigning WWF WORLD Tag Team Champions in history.

Other tag teams I think should be in:

The Fabulous Rougeaus
The Steiner Brothers
The New Age Outlaws
Harlem Heat ( Though Booker will probably get in solo )
The Dudleys
The Nasty Boys
The Natural Disasters
The Freebirds
Midnight Express

Man looking back, it shows how crappy tag wrestling has gotten. lol. I didn't put doom in because Ron Simmons & Butch Reed should both go into the HOF separately.

Since somebody erased my first post cause they didn't like my opinion or something, I'll just have to post again, Dicks.

1.Stiener Brothers
2.Harlem Heat
3.Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard
4.Rock & Roll Express
5.Midnight Express
6.Minnasota Wrecking Crew
7.Edge and Christian
8.Hardy Brothers
9.The British Bull Dogs
10.Freebirds

Everyone of these teams are better than the ones on your list, and desereve to be in any wrestling hall of fame, especialy before Demolition who are nothing but a Road Warrior rip off.

I AGREE 100% . Your List all have teams that were legitimate trailblazers and excelled at everything they did. This list should be in the polls since it recognizes teams that elevated the sport. I can't think of a single team of your list that wasn't ground breaking in some form.

But Demolition is a Joke ! They were WWE's Cheap version of the Road Warrios until the real mc coy showed up.
