I guess because I’m the resident Belt SMark of WrestleZone, I’ll create the thread. So what does the Zone think?? I like it, and as soon as there’s a Commemorative version of it, I’m buying it!! I know half of you hate it, but there will at least be 2 of you who will also have it. It’s going to look great with $9.99 side plates!! Love it or hate it, it’s the best (and only) thing going today. WOOOO!!

Took me a while but I grew to like the previous WWE Championship. But that new logo, man. It's just crap, innit. It was time for a change but I can't think of anything positive to say about it. I understand they don't want to alter the design too much, but it looks cheap as hell.

I fucking hate this new logo (especially since it replaced the logo of my generation)!!!
But oh well, I guess we have to move on at some point.
Overall, I think this championship looks better than the one it is replacing... no, not the Big Gold belt, the other one I mean. This title design goes more well with the Network logo than it did with the Scratch logo, that's for sure.
Looks from this angle like they are getting rid of the personalized side plates (maybe I'm wrong; can't see clearly).. That is what I felt was the only cool thing about the previous championship.
So basically, it has neither "Champion" written on it, nor does it have the space to attach the champion's name. Hmmm... Guess they are cutting costs on that too.

I think having "Champion" across the bottom was lame. The belt itself signifies that you're the champion, does it really need to say it on the bottom? Glad they dropped that.

I have no issue w/ this new belt, or the new logo.

It looks terrible, what is wrong with WWE with all the possible designs out there they could have chose from this is it? I cant take anyone serious holding that compared to any other title they ever had. Hell i would prefer the spinner over that! Keep the big gold belt and put that crappy logo you have on the top and let that be the belt. My god that thing is so cheesy it looks like something you would see on a walmart shelf half priced.

It's not bad. It's not overly different from the current one to be honest apart from dropping the "champion" part at the bottom which like JoeFromTomsRiver said, wasn't really needed anyway. It's hard to tell just from the pic, but it looks pretty clean around the edges rather than laden with diamonds like the current one, which I'm not a huge fan of. I prefer the older belts that just had a few rather than making a border out of them.

I'm just looking forward to them going back to one belt.. Yes, I'd prefer it to be the big gold belt, but deep down we all knew they'd never go for that

I've got no real problem with the logo to be perfectly honest. I like it much better than the scratch logo, which never personally appealed to me even during the Attitude Era.

I'm wondering though if it's the actual title, a concept title they had created to see how it'd look, if there's more than just an alteration of the logo or if it's just a picture that somebody's photoshopped rather than something legit. Look at the picture at the bottom of King Patrick's post showing the titles on display. The Big Logo title is in the case in the upper right hand corner and you can see a definite difference in the bottom sections of the belt in the display case and the one Triple H is holding in the other picture. The bottom section of the center plate is supposed to be larger than the top portion since the bottom has the word "CHAMPION" across it. In this photo of Trips holding the title, the width of the bottom & top sections are the same and I don't see "CHAMPION" written anywhere.

If it's the new title and "CHAMPION" isn't even written on it, then I don't really see a point in having a championship belt. Yeah, it's nitpicking a little bit, but it's weird for an official championship not to have the world "CHAMPION" featured anywhere. I also think it'd look a lot better if the black area of the center plate was gold or red.

Someone that doesn't know (maybe a new viewer, for instance) should be able to read what is written on the title and find out which championship belt that is. For example, "WWE Intercontinental Heavyweight Wrestling Champion" followed by the champion's name.
In this new one, all that is written are two W's, and that is something that can be called lame.

I don't mind it. I'm wouldn't say I like it any more or less than the current WWE championship, but it still doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Big Gold Belt or the Undisputed championship for me personally.

This is pretty damn stupid when you consider that whenever dudes come out, they usually drop a GIANT BANNER WITH THE DUDE'S NAME AND CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IF APPLICABLE ON THE SCREEN, not to mention Twitter or YouTube or whatever social media information they can cram in.

Not really a "fan" of this belt design, or the new logo, but I don't hate either and don't think either is THAT hard to look at. Anything is better than the old Undisputed belt.

man that's an ugly belt. There's gotta be a better way to make the logo the focal point of the belt without it looking so gaudy. I however do like the custom sideplates for superstars, but superstar logos are starting to look generic.

I'm personally not a big fan of this or the current belt design. I feel like they should be incorporating something more to the effect of the title name into the design. This would be a good fit for the WWE champ, unless they plan on dropping the 'World Heavyweight' part of it.

Since the champ is called the 'WWE World Heavyweight Champion', the design should have a globe, earth, or something do designate the 'world' portion of the name and the WWE logo somewhere on the design to acknowledge that it is the WWE's world champion.

Something similar in nature to the attitude era or previous design is what I have in mind. Just my opinion :)

It's not great but it gets the job done.
It's still better than the tag belts and the Divas belt so it has that going for it.
It's better than the spinner belt. That's a plus.
It's not anywhere near as good as the "winged eagle" or the Attitude era belts but I doubt we're going to see too many titles as good as those.
It's not as good as the Intercontinental or United States titles though.

All in all it may not be the best but after some time passes I'm sure most of it will get used to it. We may never actually like it but we'll get used to it.

The only problem I have with the new championship is that it does not have the word "champion" on it. I've never really had a problem with them getting rid of the name plate and replacing it with custom side plates. When you have a championship for your company the most important thing is that the championship says "champion" on it. If this is followed then when the champion makes public appearances with the championship people will know that he/she is the champion. Not just walking around with a prop with the flashy company logo. I may be being picky but I like it when the championship actually makes mention that the holder is the "champion."

If it doesn't say the word "Champion" on it, people won't know he's the champion? I just don't accept that.

If he's making public appearances, I'm sure he is going to be announced as the champion, and most people who would go to a public appearance are well aware of the fact that he IS the champion anyway.

If these people you are referring to need to have it spelled out for them, why not take it up a notch and have "World Wrestling Entertainment World Heavyweight Champion" written across it. Why just have the logo and "champion" there? Maybe they don't know what that logo is, so they don't know what he is the champion OF.

If they DO know what that logo is, then it's safe to say that when they see a wrestler holding that belt, they know that he is the champion of that company.

The U.S., Intercontinental, and tag belts are a different story.

It just looks the same as the current WWE title, with the new logo being all that's changed.

I really don't think these "modern" title belts like the horiffic 1p looking Tag Team belts, the incredibly tacky Divas and this WWE title look good at all. Why has the company moved away from designs such as the Attitude Era WWE Title, the classic World Heavyweight Title, the IC title that was used until Cody changed it back, the Cruiserweight belt and the Undisputed Title? Those look like prestigious championships, not shitty toys like the current belts.

Championship title creators from back in the day must have been fired or quit. This title looks like it had absolutely zero thought put into it and the fact that if reports are true that it took them 2 years to come up with/make and cost about 50 grand, that is indeed very sad and pathetic.

I don't mind it. Wrestling fans in general hate change. So people will hate it now. But in 10 years people will nostalgically want it back. A lot of people hated the scratch logo when it first came out too.

Naitch I agree on the Penny Titles. They actually do look like they're made of copper. Ugh ugh ugh.

However the "Old Whitey" IC Title is a thing of glory.

It does actually look weird. I am not much of a nostalgiafag, I just personally don't like it. I don't like the pre-scratchy logo either. I feel it is trying to look streamlined but it comes off as really noughties-looking due to the pseudo-futuristic removal of the jaggies.

Ah Paddy, I always love your optimism.:lmao:

I do like this belt even though it's still a bit too vajazzled compared to the glorious late 90s title.

New logo is still ew though, jaggies 4lyfe

Yeah, now imagine if someone is checking out photos of old titles on the internet, for instance, and they find a few titles which has just the company's logo inscribed on it; no championship name or anything. What will he deduce from it? Or, if the above title is shown to someone that hasn't been watching for, say, 5 years, will he be able to look at it and say its the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? (He might be able to guess and say "WWE Championship" but not the full name). Conversely, if the Intercontinental or United States Championships are shown to that person, he will simply be able to read and figure out that those are the IC and U.S. titles. Its somewhat like a report card with the institution's logo but without the candidate's grades. Now obviously you've never been to any educational institution (or received any certificate of merit), but I hope you get the comparison. The championship's name being inscribed on it is always ideal and advantageous than otherwise, whether you want to accept it or not.

I don't know how to explain this, but its something like... writing 'Champion' at the end (for this belt) kind of completes the sentence- "WWE Champion" followed by the champion's name, or side plates, or simply him holding the title... In this case, the title name is incomplete- only "WWE" written on it, not the full name.

Not a big deal, I know. Just liked the old touch better, but I guess there was no way to fit that in in this design without making it look bad like the previous version, which is understandable.

I love that the Champion banner is gone!! When I get this Belt, I'm displaying it upside down!! My last name starts with an M, in case you're wondering.

I don't like the current WWE title belt design that The Rock debuted in early 2013 but even though I don't care much for the current design, I surprisingly think the belt looks much better with the new network logo as opposed to the old scratch logo. I'm not sure if it's just the fact that they updated the belt itself, so it makes me think an updated logo works better with it or what? But personally I can't wait till the big gold belt is retired for good & only one world title belt remains because retiring WCW's belt & transitioning to a single world title belt is long overdue IMO.
