New Linkin Park Album?

So I heard that Linkin Park is working on a 5th album. I thought to myself, why not give the fans something else in the meantime? It has been quite a while since we saw any remixes of their songs. Hybrid Theory got its entire track listing remixed on Reanimation. Then there was Collision Course where they remixed songs from both Hybrid Theory and Meteora with Jay-Z. I think it's way beyond time for a third remix album, rather than a 5th regular cd.

1. Would you like to see a 3rd remix album from Linkin Park? Why or why not? (If no, you can skip questions 2 and 3.)

2. If yes, what songs would you like to see remixed on it? It could be older material from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, or it could be from their newer cd's Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns.

3. Would you like to see other artists collaborate with them like Jay-Z did again, or would you prefer they work alone on the remix?

4. Any thoughts on the 5th cd, would you be looking forward to that? It's not due until sometime in 2012 at the earliest, so there is plenty of time between now and its release.

I would love to see a third remix album. I can't think of any specific other artists I would bring in to work with them though, so I'd have them do it by themselves. It should contain work from Meteora as well as the two newer albums. There are a few tracks off Meteora that could be cool in a remix that did not see one on Collision Course such as Don't Stay or Nobody's Listening. Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns' material has never seen a remake. What I've Done, Leave Out All the Rest, and In Pieces are the main tracks from Minutes to Midnight that I'd want to see remixed. A Thousand Suns I would want to see the entire thing remixed, that cd was one of a kind. Perhaps a remixed version of A Thousand Suns with a couple of remixed Minutes to Midnight tracks thrown in. As for the 5th album.... I will certainly buy it because I have been a fan ever since back when only Hybrid Theory existed. I'd rather see a 3rd remix album before a 5th regular album, but LP are one of my favorite bands and I am excited to hear that new material is being worked on.

Thoughts?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a remix album as I dug re animation. All the tracks were pretty fresh with the underground rappers along with appearances with John Davis of Korn, Aaron Lewis of Staind, and ever Stephen Richards of Taproot was bad ass. I know they only put it out to keep the fans at bay since they were trying to record Meteora at the time.

I would like to hear remixes on Numb, Bleed it out, Faint, Black Birds, Giving up, Shadow of the day, Black out, when they come for me and Wretches and Kings. I would do a Reanimation style to these songs.

The remixes were with underground and the mash up was with Jay Z. Remixes and mash ups are two different things. A mash up is combining two songs to flow into one. A remix is the same song just with different artist adding in some lyrics. I personally would like another reanimation album instead of a mash up. I felt that Jay Z worked perfectly with Linkin Park. I swear call me shallow or not but, if they did a mash up with Lil Wayne, I would probably stop listening to them all together.

I am not amped up for a new Linkin Park album to be honest. The last two albums were eh, as I wasn't into them at all. I like a few tracks off both the newer albums I will say that. But, how this album will sound I have no clue. It could be the best one in years as long as they stick to a certain sound. I will listen to it to see if it is worth the buy.

I dont really see the need in ANOTHER remix album.

Linkin Park have already given us 4 studio albums, 2 remix albums and I'm pretty certain they did a live album too, so they are pretty regular when it comes to releasing CDs, you don't have to wait too long for another LP album, they release new material pretty quickly.

I would rather they just stuck to releasing another studio album next, full of new material as they are one of the better bands out there today and they don't need to appease the fans by re-releasing more remixed versions of their current catalogue. It seems a bit cashing-in if they do.

Stick it out in the studio, and give us an album better than the last one please guys.

As much as I would like to see another remix album, I think Linkin Park is due for another studio album. Linkin Park I feel need to do something new but still keep the same formula that made Hybrid Theory and Meteroa hits. A remix album would be just fine right after their 5th album.

There really wasn't enough hits on A Thousand Suns to demand for a remix. In fact, I have my own version of The Catalyst on my computer.

Linkin Parks work with Jay-Z was a huge hit. I really enjoyed the work between the two. If Linkin Park had to do another colab album, I would like to see it with someone like Eminem. Hell, even Hollywood Undead would be a great partner for a colab album.

Personally, I can't wait for the 5th album. Linkin Park has always tried to do something new so their albums always refreshing to listen too. Like I said before, I hope they go back to their roots but still manage to change their image.

No. I liked Reanimation, I still listen to some of the songs on it regularly, but I like a lot of their newer material the way it is and wouldn't want to hear it toyed with. I hated most of the Jay-Z collaborations for that exact reason, and I like A Thousand Suns a hell of a lot more than the tracks that were re-mixed on Collision Course.

I'm looking forward to it, but I hope it doesn't come out until the end of 2012 (if it comes out in 2012 at all). I'm still thoroughly enjoying A Thousand Suns and am perfectly content in waiting awhile before another album drops. I'm curious to see what they will produce next though because I was so taken with their work on the last album that I couldn't possibly imagine what they will come up with next.
