New Diva Ashley Valence - Host, Announcer Or What?

Ferbian

Has Returned.
This week on NXT we saw the debut of a new diva Ashley Valence, who is said to be co-hosting NXT alongside Matt Striker, she did a decent job to say the least, and seems to be a girl who could make a decent announcer.

According to reports by Internet sides, Ashley is identified as the former co-host of Memphis Grizzlies NBA franchise, and would I would therefore assume that she is hired solely as an announcer and co-host of NXT (perhaps mainly NXT if WWE ever decides to continue the production of it after the expiration when SmackDown moves to SyFy)

I do not expect she has any wrestling training, and therefore if she was ever to become a diva wrestler, she would need training in FCW, and it would take a while for her to get a proper level I would assume.

So I ask you the following:

What do you think Ashley Valence is in for with WWE? Why do you think that?

Do you think Ashley Valence could become a female wrestler? or solely an announcer / a co-host? Why do you think that?

I can't say I'm VERY impressed with Valence, but she's certainly better than Savannah, and she's a million times better than Lauren Mayhew. That said, she needs some work. I love that she sounds like she's actually trying to be excited, but she needs to work on emphasizing the correct syllables and not being so shrieky. I'm sure it will come with practice.

I don't think she'll be an actual wrestling diva though she'll still have photoshoots, I'm sure. WWE is trying to create the next Lilian Garcia, and they've already had two abysmal failures. This one, at least, shows some promise.

OK- so for some reason, I'M remembering TWO new girls on NXT. Im remembering a ring announcer with short blonde hair- that was SMOKIN hot!! Even Long Island Iced-Z spit some game to her a couple weeks ago. Suggesting she call him or something.

Then there was the girl I think your talking about now- The brunette "intro girl". I dont know what her title would be- hard for me to call her a co-host tho...but that doesnt matter. I felt like she was pushing her voice a little too much- but she was MUCH better then the last couple ladies they brought out there.

If she worked for the Grizzlies- Im going to assume she was the girl that walked around the arena & gave away prizes to fan- for answering trivia questions & whatnot. So I wouldnt expect to ever see her wrestle- I gotta think shes there for introductions. But she better not be there to replace that hot little blonde that was announcing for the 1st couple of weeks of NXT.

Both girls are very easy on the eyes- to say the least

I think she'll be an announcer for a while, and when NXT has run it's course, a WWE diva, similar to what Tiffany (I think thats the one) did in ECW. For now, she'll anounce wrestlers, the announcers will mention her, act like she's important, a few wrestlers will say she's hot or something, then, on the last season of NXT, she'll have some sort of interaction with an active WWE diva that will lead to a fued.

I personally think this is stupid, as they didn't need another diva on TV simply for eye candy, as they already have divas (with more experience) that could have played this role a lot better. And like I said, I think this girl will become an actual diva when NXT is done and I'm not looking forward to seeing a(nother) barely trained bimbo wrestle on my television.

I'm still trying to figure out why WWE hired this girl, whatever she's for...:wtf:

Striker seemed to be doing good in the first place on NXT as the Host/Announcer for the majority of the show. Then take into consideration how many times she 'flubbed' simple words last nite. She couldn't say Kaval right. She called him Kavval (I'm just using the pronunciation for the spelling) then she just seemed to trip over her words at every moment she was on stage at the beginning. Then you add in Cole and Matthews saying maybe she should be eliminated. I find it a little odd that the rumor surrounding Savannah's departure was how she kept flubbing her lines when interviewing Wade Barrett, but now you have this new girl who is already doing this maybe 3-4 weeks into her gig? Especially on a live show when your co-hosts are just railroading you live. Forgive me for maybe being a perfectionist, but then again, I'd probably be a stickler on my name no matter what.

I think she is a co-host. She went on about what was happening with the series. Far beyond the duties of a ring-announcer. I don't understand why they couldn't just have Matt Striker. An actual character who is known by the WWE Universe. It seems a bit of a weird move by the WWE.

I noticed that she messed up her lines a few times. It was probably just nerves. It was her second (almost) live televised show. She seemed to show promise and I wouldn't be surprised if she began to do the Josh Matthews backstage thing in the future.

Oh, and she's hot.

I think its funny that they fired Savannah for flubbing lines, yet they bring in this girl who is even worse. Don't believe me, go back and watch the first couple minutes of last week's NXT

I LOVE THIS GIRL. I think she is very pretty and isn't half-bad on the mic. I think she will be around for a while. When NXT is over, I see her becoming a Diva. She looks like she is physically in-shape and with a little training, I see her taking Mickie James' place (but not as good).

Maybe when interviewing Kaval and Lay-Cool, Lay-Cool could ambush her. That would lead to her becoming a Diva on Smackdown and fueding with Lay-Cool along side with a returning Beth Phoenix.

I see great promise in this girl and think she could be a great Diva. And boy does the WWE need one.

As far as her interviewing, she's decent. And she's definately better than that awful Jaime Keyes. She's just getting started and will get better with time.

I believe Ashley Valance will end up being the second coming of Maria:
-Get her start as a backstage interviewer
-Gain attention from her (mostly male) fans
-Start training in the ring
-Enter Diva's Title scene
-Go on Celebrity Apprentice
-Get fired from WWE weeks before the premeire of Celebrity Apprentice
-Get fired from Celebrity Apprentice for horrible reasons
-Become a country music artist

Oh, sorry, I digressed. My point is, Maria is back, and her name is Ashley Valance.

I find Ashley Valance to be very good and she has a lot of potential. She's a good announcer and a good co host. I am very interested to see how they use her outside of NXT, if she'll wrestle or what. It's always good to have an abundance of talent that can do a lot of stuff... I'm definitely happy she's on the roster.

Isn't that what they have been doing to alot of divas over the years.. (eg. Maria) They make them start off as announcers or backstage interviewers and giving them training to be a WWE diva aswell.

Just consider her as a WWE NXT rookie. Thats what i do.

I like her. She's a hot Diva that can announce matches without screwing up or sounding bland. While I don't think there will ever be another Lillian Garcia, Ashley has potential to be as good as she was.
