MVP vs The Legacy

Pre-Show Stalwart
Is it me, or did MVP cut a really good promo on The Legacy last Monday on Raw. He sopke well, loud, passionate, and possibly unscipted. MVP in my opinion cut a promo similar to the old days, where it actually seems like he made it up on the fly.

His English may not have been the best (using double negatives lol), but that is his character. Not to mention, he had the crowd behind him the whole time. I for 1 hope WWE bookers paid attention to this, and give MVP a chance at world championship gold by WM 26

I didnt just think he was good in the promo, he was great in his match too. i really do hope this guy go's over big and help fill in the void that was the rock.

His promo was awesome I thought. I never really seen much of MVP bc I always watch raw. I was impressed and he deserves to further this angle and get some main event time.

MVP is what the Business calls a "Rising Star" not to be confused with "A Diamond" such as Jack Swagger. What makes MVP so special is that we have only had 3 African Americans to really hold a Major Singles Title. Only to be let down very hard for the common folk. That would be Booker T, Bobby Lashley, & Ron Simmons. MVP is "WWE GROOMED". He is set for a major push for a very long time. He has passion, respect, character, mat & mic skills. To me he is the next "Total Package" of the new era. Also, he knows what it means to live rock bottom, turn his life around, & live his dream. That is going to solidify his place in the WWE HALL OF FAME & MULTI-WORLD CHAMP. He will never be the rock... He will be 1ST MVP OF THE WWE.

MVp deff should battle with legacy...in the end legacy will take him down n prob take his belt but it will push him towards the main event level...i doubt MVP will be headlining WM i feel like that will be ted jr once they decide to get rid of legacy. I give mvp about 2 years and he will be world champion its just not his time yet i think he needs to lose some weight he looked really heavy on this past addition of smackdown which could cause a prob in the future...this year will be all about batista, orton, HHH and even HBK as sad as it is for me to say.

actually 4 black wrestlers held major titles, the rock is half black and an 8 time world champ , his dad is hall of famer SOUL MAN rocky johnson for god's sake. i always thought mvp reminded me of the rock during his heel ic run days. mvp has a ton of potential, and so does dibiase. these two need to feud, and have some ppv matches down the road. but i'm high on mvp, i really think that he could be the next big thing. like the view or not, him being involved with sherri shepard in that match, and him appearing on the view monday is good exposure for him. now back on subject, mvp vs dibiase needs to happen, he's not ready or over enough to feud with orton. rhodes needs to back to fcw, or get released, i dont care, just stay away from dibiase so he can go to the next level. mvp should align himself with cena so can get a rub and feud with orton and co.

I personally felt it wasn't one of his better promos. Nor one of his better matches. I like MVP and could see him being a huge fixture in the WWE, but for whatever reason, I don't like MVP vs Orton right now. Maybe later. Maybe part of my reservation comes from the crowd's reaction on RAW vs the reaction on SmackDown. On RAW, his match with Orton was a snoozer. The crowd seemed dead until Shane jumped in. On SmackDown, his match was much better. The crowd was hot all the way. Plus, it was much easier for me to stay awake. I know it was MSG, but don't tell me the people attending RAW are not capable of being entertained. Im not sure if it just him with Orton, or what, but I don't think this is a feud you unfold yet.

Where in this promo is the crowd dead? Seriously? I'm sick of reading that crap. He was over and the promo was very well done and got the point across.

On RAW, his match with Orton was a snoozer. The crowd seemed dead until Shane jumped in.

That match got the most reaction of the night, even thought that might not be saying much considering that crowd was pure shit, but still. Solid TV match as well.

I'm with the majority here, MVP had the best Monday night out of anyone. He comes out to cut his first Monday Night Raw promo, one of his first face promos, and he has the crowd amped up the whole time! I was busting out laughing when he told DiBiase to break himself and called Priceless a couple of Abercrombie and Fitch models!

Not only that, but the match was great. He definitely out wrestled Orton, which personally, I don't think is that hard, but it's one more reason he should get a bigger push. I'm really hoping the WWE took note of how well his promo went over and starts making some big plans for him for the future. Maybe a looooong US title run with some great PPV defenses, or maybe we'll even see him in the world title hunt. I don't know what they have planned for him, but what I do know is the WWE would be stupid not to make him a big part of Monday Night Raw.

MVP is the man. I predict that he will be in a WWE title match by Survivor Series the year & will headline MANIA 26! He'll be more over as a face than he was a heel. And he was a hell of a heel! Aside from that lame ass losing streak, MVP is constantly BALLIN!

I honestly don't think anything will come of the Orton v/s MVP thing. There will be no feud with MVP, simply because the Legacy still has bigger fish to fry...The McMahon's. MVP's shot at Orton was to simply give a glimpse at someone who's never wrestled somebody before. It was unique to see, but nothing will come of it.

The Legacy has some work to do. As far as I'm concerned, they're stale. They're not that intimidating and they simply look overmatched every time they're in the ring. In Evolution, even with Flair at the ripe old age of 54, he could still make you nervous, along with a less lethargic Batista as a tag team. Rhodes and Dibiase don't pose a threat. They've never really done anything to anyone. Have them lay out MVP with a pipe or something. THEY'RE HEELS!

Orton's ruthless, but no one else in Legacy seem that way. But nothing will come of their encounter, unless either Ted or Cody go after the US title. But I see them as Tag Team champions in the future.

It seems like they're still going to feud with Batista and Shane O-Mac, as well as a Tag Team feud with The Colons. However I do see MVP answering a promo by The Miz saying something like "If I can go toe to toe with the leader of The Legacy I can beat a punk ass like you, think you're a tough guy to talk trash about guys who are on the shelf, well here's a reality check for you little man, this is Monday Night RAW, and I'm the United States Champion, Batista's the number 1 contender, and like it or not Randy Orton is the WWE champion, so you're a bit low down on the pecking order, so either put up or shut up."

MVP, Mr. Kennedy, CM Punk, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison... sure they are all talented, but recieve waay to much praise here...

I have a feeling I wont be warmly recieved, but I see nothing special about MVP. He can be used better, looking at the terrible moments with that stupid woman form the view last night, but overall I can't see him main eventing anything on his own.

MVP vs John Cena, WRESTLEMANIA!!! Doesn't have that ring to it. I think he should get this push, but if it flutters he shouldn't be given another host of pushes.

Just my opinion away from just about every other post in this thread.

Glad when he turned face, he honestly wasnt a good heel, you could hear a pin drop during his entrance. His promos were good but if anything got him face heat.

He came out to little reaction on RAW that is true, but he made up for that with his promo that got the fans behind him. It'll be good to see him mocking Legacy for how shit they are over the coming weeks if it happens.

I don't know if anything will come out of this for MVP. He did receive good face reaction from the crowd, although I thought he should have faced Rhodes or DiBiase first before making his way to Orton. Their match was good but I'm on the fence whether Shane interfering was a good or bad thing. I get the revenge angle of Orton punting HHH in the head and taking the title. However, I felt it took away from a great match and you forgot about MVP at the end. I assumed the whole McMahon/Orton saga would have ended at Backlash but I guess not.

"I personally felt it wasn't one of his better promos. Nor one of his better matches."

Read the ENTIRE post. Dont get upset just because you don't like one part of a sentence that was said (Lil Wes, sad because I usually see your logic). I thought he has cut much better promos and had much better matches in the past. The crowd may have been into his promo, but the match was dead. Funny how you credit them in the promo but rip them for their match reaction by calling them "shit." So are they competent or not? You say the best match of the night, I can't disagree but the rest of the night was crap. Plus, I was comparing matches; not promos. The crowd was into his promo. I never said they weren't. But the matches between RAW and SmackDown were different stories.

"I like MVP and could see him being a huge fixture in the WWE, but for whatever reason, I don't like MVP vs Orton right now. Maybe later. Maybe part of my reservation comes from the crowd's reaction on RAW vs the reaction on SmackDown. On RAW, his match with Orton was a snoozer. The crowd seemed dead until Shane jumped in. So if you disagree with me that is fine. But 1) read the entire post and 2) remember that your word is not law. And that is not just pointed at one person or another; everyone needs to take that into consideration.
