It's been more than 9 months since I posted a thread or a comment, but this one simply has me perplexed.
Maybe I'm thinking way too deep on the topic, or maybe I completely underestimate who the WWE considers their majority fan base.
Are we really supposed to believe that if John Cena doesn't "obey" Wade Barrett that he'll be fired ? Excuse me Mike Mizanin, but really WWE ? Really ?
This is a complete slap in the face to wrestling fans, unless you're under the age of 10 and actually believe it could happen.
During the Attitude Era, sure, they threatened Stone Cold Steve Austin's job countless times, and he was canned countless times, but that was a different type of Era and wrestling fans were fully on board with the storyline.
There's no chance Cena would ever legitly be fired and any wrestling fan with half a bit of intelligence knows this, so why bother even broaching the subject and going there if you're the creative team or someone with a Mc in your last name ?
Cena is unquestionably the life blood of the WWE right now. And there is absolutely no one on the roster who's even close to him. At least when Austin was being "insubordinate", there were other names active in the company which made you "believe" it could happen - The Rock, HBK, HHH, The Undertaker (a much younger version), Hogan (at times), Flair, etc...
I'm sure this isn't the most unbelievable storyline ever, but it has to run near the top. It certainly does in my opinion.
