Which wrestling move is the most realistic? This isn't the same as the ''You're in a fight what wrestling move do you use thread''. This is a thread to determine what is the best and most realistic move in all of wrestling.

When I think of a realistic wrestling move I think of something that would legitimately hurt, is easy to perform, impactful and so on. So that would exclude popular wrestling moves like Dropkicks, high flying moves, finishing moves (on average) etc.

If I was in a fight I would probably use HBK's "Sweet Chin Music" since it's easy to perform and impactful. Another move I would use is Rock's "Rock Bottom" for the same reason as the "Sweet Chin Music". As for holds I would use the full nelso because that gives you control in the fight, and if you have long arms it's pretty hard to break.

I obviously wouldn't do something lik the 619, lol. Anything that is easy to perform and impactful will be good in a fight.

When going for realism, I think you'd have to go submission. The concept of a submission hold is what makes it exciting. I use the Ankle Lock as the prime example. It LOOKS painful with the way both the victim and the user sell it. Kurt Angle is the best at this, easilly. Obviously, we know that if Angle had wanted to, he could break the ankle at any time, but the willing suspension of disbelief kicks in easier watching someone fight for their lives in an Ankle Lock than someone lying motionless after a Hulk Hogan leg drop or John Cena Fireman's Carry.

The Ankle Lock is a pretty damn good choice for a submission but this thread appears to be regarding impact moves. . . I'd go with the DDT. Sure a piledriver might be pretty brutal, too, but not as easy to hit as a DDT.

I'm going to go for the most obvious one-the undertakers tombstone. it looks like the person is dropped right on their head with the rest of their body coming down right above them. plus it's the move that only the best kick out of(kane back in 1998, when it took four to keep him down, which was three to many!) if a wrestler is caught in a tombstone and the undertaker drops them, it looks sick(i know it's fake but it is the most realistic move in my opinion).

any sort of choke manouever seals the deal for me, to me a submission is always going to be more effective than trying to duke it out with someone, its always easier to get in close distract your 'opponent' with a few knees then lock in a guillotine choke, anyone who wants to debate this please go out and start a fight with someone in the street, i can guarentee if you get in close grab them in a headlock and lock your legs round you could render them unconcious in anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute

i know that sounds daring and foolish but ive been doing BJJ for a fair few years :lol2:

I always think about a piledriver. As a matter in fact, the move is too "realistic" to even be performed in the WWE anymore due to the fact that it has a bad history of inflicting injury. Only very couple wrestlers including Mick Foley and The Undertaker that performed the move for years can be trusted to apply the move in a safe way.

The most REALISTIC move would have to be the spear, not the i-am-going-to-bob-up-and-down-to-get-some-crowd-reaction-first-then-i-will-spear-you spear but just a simple tackle and throw in some punches too.
That is the most realistic wrestling move today IMO

Umaga's Samoan Spike, IMO.

If done correctly with enough force, AND if you hit the right spot on the throat, you're FUCKED. I can only imagine how painful.

The most realistic? From my limited experience I'd have to go with the superkick or backbreaker.. and it doesn't hurt if it's done right, but alot of times when you see it done you think to yourself "holy shit," and if you're like me, a backbreaker is not easy to take when you weigh 272.

Have you guys ever been in a real fight before? These guys aren't gonna wait for you to set-up a rock bottom or a friggin stone cold stunner. If anything, doing that will make you look like a dumbass in the process.

What I used in my fight yesterday (yes I had one) was a couple of karate punches (yes I take karate) and then I did a...*gasp* tazmission. Simple, easy, and effective since it derives from a real martial art (judo) instead of a kayfabe move.

Lets give a big round of applause for Taz! Whooo!

The Low Blow.. I can't believe noone thought of that. Its probably the number one, most used "move" in a fight, outside of choking.

I agree with Agrex with the Sweet Chin Music, & Jake for the Spike.. if done correctly, both would definately hurt your opponent. But the low blow is quick, easy, & almost always drops your opponent.

I've been stomped on the nuts in a match once before lol, so I'm really surprised at myself for not thinking of that one.

I think the low blow
what if your a girl fighting a girl, or if you dont want a rep as a dirty fighter? i would have to say Spear, i mean, the spear is like a football tackle, how much more real can you get?

rear naked choke with leg scissors. done properly with hand behind head forcing other person's head into ur forearm. ur close enuf that they cant hit u properly and the leg scissors means u have control of them.

for striking, i'd imagine a knee to the gut followed by one to the head'd do the job quite nicely

Double leg take down into a side leg lock. I learned this yesterday in MMA class and god it hurts like hell.

Also if you want something painful try a head-and-arm side tazplex. God this move is hard as hell to do, but it pays off. I did it yesterday while trampoline wrestling and my friend had to call it quits. If you know how to block a punch then it should connect really good if in a street fight.

Basically any tazplex will work because it stems from judo. If you want striking go for a superkick, a Perry Saturn leg sweep, or a Samoan Spike.

I hafta say that a guillotine choke would be the most useful although it is not a wrestling move IMO. the ddt would prob b the easiest 2 pull off. as for the ankle lock, good luck getting sum1 un the right position to even pull that off during a street fight, and also have a nice time trying 2 keep grip of the ankle w/o them gettin out. also the samoan spike, c'mon. good luck htting any1 w/ that nd if u do good luck not seriously jamming ur thumb. lol

I've been in alot of fights, and what I have to say, is if your under heavy punches and they are close, quick and strong spinebuster into the asphault floor. It is actually pretty quick and easy.

Also, the ever so popular Sweet Chin Music. Two weeks ago, guy went to charge me, BAM! I actually knocked a tooth out. Also a simple STO will work, it is also a martial arts move.

I've used a hip toss and arm drag into an arm bar before. Submissions are good if you are quick and can get the set up fast. For the moves that need setup, they CAN work, as long as your opponent is slow and you are fast.

There are alot of moves that are realistic, it is just that the person isn't going to wait for you to set it up. In my opinion, do whatever gives maximum hurt with minimal energy. And, what comes to mind, is that quick and lethal super kick.

I would say the Spinebuster...when I used to wrestle in Middle School, I used it on a couple of people in actual matches-it knocks the wind out of them if you have good leg/shoulder/back strength to lift and slam them.

But in fights: After you spinebuster them DONT do poses and walk away as if they're gonna stay knocked down/out like on tv (which I'm quite sure a few of you guys would do that) ...instead, RIGHT after you slam them, mount them, and beat them down with punches.......works everytime.

i would say the worm.

What a better way to make yourself out to be the biggest baddest man in hood by hitting your knocked out foe with the worm.

I'd have to say the Sweet Chin Music definately. You don't need any special equipment such as the ropes to perform it. You don't need to get your opponent onto the floor to use it, and it's just the type of move that you could use out of no where, no planning, no warning.

It is also one of the most effective finishers in the business. Once you've had that kick, you'd be lucky to stand back up again.

If you can get your opponent down, an armbar will work wonders. It doesn't take much force to pacify your opponent, and it's painful enought they really can't fight back when it's on properly. If your sadistic, you can easily break the arm.

Other than that, I'd say Randy Orton's kick to the head is mighty realistic and effective!

The most useful/realistic moves I've used in a fight were the Somoan drop, I let the guy punch me in the stomach so I'd be hunched over and the idiot tried to get on my back and I just wrapped my arm around the leg and put him on my shoulders and BAM I hit that and the guy quit the fight after that. The other 2 moves were submission moves; the body scissors made one guy tap in about 6 seconds and I did the ankle lock (i did it the Kurt angle way and wrapped my legs around him so he couldn't move) to someguy who quickly gave up once it was applied.

i do agree with sweet chin music because it can come from nowhere but i would have to say a european uppercut could do the trick aswell if you hit them right

Definitely the superkick. The sound of boot on flesh makes me cringe every time. Anyone remember the one Shelton Benjamin took off a springboard? Absolutely amazing. It looked like it really hurt him
