In a follow up from the incident at this past Sunday's TNA Victory Road pay-per-view, when Eric Bischoff entered the ring to change the stipulation for the Sting vs. Jeff Hardy match, he called an audible. Bischoff could be clearly seen saying things to both Hardy and Sting during his in-ring promo. According to TNA sources, Hardy had to be "held up" as he was brought though the gorilla position. Due to his condition before the main event, the call was made to change all main event plans. Hardy was stumbling badly on his way to the ring during his entrance and looked "completely out of it". As reported on Monday, Hardy was sent home by TNA from the iMPACT! TV tapings this week in Orlando, FL.

There are other reports stating that Hardy arrived to the iMPACT! Zone on Sunday way later than he was supposed to and was found laying on his back in a corner of a bathroom backstage. TNA management was frantically trying to find him before the main event. Jeff was nodding off and as noted above, had to be held up on his way to the arena for the main event. Sting was quiet backstage but visibly pissed off.

Glad TNA at least made him go home. Sheesh.

So in other words, he gets vacation time? Jeff was barely on TV in his first reign as champion and now it seems he won't be on TV now. Why is this punishment again?

I don't know, but I care more about TNA than him. I guess that's why the main event wasn't changed. They knew he was in the building but couldn't find him.

Jeff Hardy is a married man and a father and his boss couldn't find him because he was drugged out of his mind and had to be carried to a room to do his job. Due to him being heavily intoxicated, he performed badly and caused a large amount of people to become angry and cost his company thousands of dollars in free subscriptions to a web based service they offer.

Name one other company that would keep this man on the payroll.

Depends on if they pay Jeff based on appearances or if he gets a guaranteed set amount, if he's paid base on appearence then sending him home is really gonna hurt him, though knowing Jeff he prolly doesn't give a fuck

I'm hoping not only TNA but every major wrestling company out there takes notice of something that has been a recurring theme in Jeff's wrestling career, the guy can't handle success to save his ass, everytime he's been given the shot to be a major ME player, he's crumbled under the pressure, I really wish TNA would've just fired Hardy, and set up a "wellness policy" of their own

They probably will when Jeff ODs

Firing him is just too simple I guess.

TNA isn't really helping themselves by not getting rid of him. It's beyond trying to get him help. Jeff is rapidly becoming the Lindsey Lohan of wrestling. And everyone around him seems to be enablers more then caretakers.

BUT, this isn't all Jeff's fault. TNA let Kurt Angle retain his championship after a highly publicized DUI and domestic violence case. WWE would later suspend Rey Mysterio and strip him of the title for violating their wellness policy. Someone in TNA needs to wake up and take notice. Punishment encourages change.

The difference being that none of those guys ever messed up the ending of a PPV.

Touche, I see your point, and raise you TNA's fault for even letting him go out there to begin with, after having a Number One Contender match on the card, I'm sure people would have been fine with having Anderson/RVD/Sting triple threat. That's three guys, Sting wins (that'd be the only stipulation), or even AJ.

Sting is a consummate professional, and a ring general. I'm sure him and at the least AJ could have slapped together a match that would be as entertaining. Even if they were just killing time to give the fans something rather then nothing.

Jeff will come back, be jobbed a few times and then will be a top guy again soon enough. I'd bet on it.

& then as soon as he's a top guy again he'll do this exact same shit all over again

They probably will when Jeff ODs

If Jeff was gonna OD he'd have done it by now, the guy has done so many drugs over the course of his life that I'm pretty sure his tolerance in unworldly at this point

I am all for getting the guy help but I think it is easier to help him if you keep him under contract. WWE just cuts ties with these guys and then they have deniability when they die a little later. Good for PR I guess but doesn't seem to be helping the actual person much. Sometimes the talent might give you no choice by refusing all help but I do not think that is the case with Jeff. Kurt Angle was really broken when he came to TNA and they managed to get him better. Bashing people for struggling with addictions is quite low in my book. Anyone that doesn't see the potential in redemption for a fan favorite in spite of it all like Jeff is missing the big picture. Reliability issues realistically matter but let's quit pretending Jeff has never had significantly stretches of his career where he was able to perform fine and not be an addict. It isn't impossible.

WCW.

Wasn't one of the reasons Angle left the WWE for TNA because WWE insisted he go to rehab for painkillers when he didn't want to? I mean, he quite WWE in late August of 06, and he started wrestling in late September for TNA? That doesn't exactly scream "We care about our wrestler's health and well being."

You really had to go to the WWE card on this? Didn't Jeff Hardy walk out on the company when his contract expired?

Seriously, just cut ties with guys. It's a three strikes and out policy. You're first two strikes get you a grand total of 90 days of suspension. If that's not a wake up call, that's not the companies fault. Those strikes carry over if a wrestler leaves the company and comes back. And cut ties, wasn't Chris Masters rehired after serving his minimum of a year away from the company?

This is from WWE Corporate
WWE is committed to assisting former WWE Talent in receiving appropriate drug rehabilitation and treatment programs and has expanded this offer to include any individuals who had ever performed under contract to WWE during their careers. Letters to former talent are sent out annually offering this assistance

There are things to bash the WWE on, but that company has bent over backwards to clean itself up after the Benoit incident. This is purely on Jeff Hardy.

Exactly right. Jeff Hardy isn't exactly bringing in huge ratings for TNA anyway, so I do not see what they have to gain by keeping him around.

He should be fired immediately. In any walk of life that would be the case, but as this is wrestling (which already has an incredibly high early-death rate) it isnt.

That is wrong

TNA need to cut ties with Hardy. It isnt their responsibility to get him clean. They have supported him up until now, when other companies would not. They have trusted him with a position of responsibility and he cannot control himself enough to do his job. No excuses, sack this man now and make an example of him to the rest of the roster.

Let him fuck his own life up. If he needs help, speak to WWE. They will willingly pay for rehab for anyone who asks for it, even if they arent on the roster. If TNA release Hardy then all he has to do is ask Vince for help and he will get it. TNA do not need to keep Jeff Hardy, he is too unreliable and needs to face the consequences of his actions.

Fire his ass now.

I'm going to try to put this in a different scenario and see if it still makes sense.

Let's say Jeff was working at McDonald's and he was working the evening shift. Right when the shift change occurs, there's a rush and there's around say, $130.00 worth of food that's already been paid for that needs to be made. However, Jeff showed up fucked up and was unable to perform his job .Does the company..

A. Shut down the restaurant without giving the customers a refund

or

B. Fire his ass on the spot and get someone else to take his place and give then customers what they paid for.

Fuck Jeff Hardy, get his useless ass out of there.

Psstt... When his shift ends, he has to leave regardless of what work he left behind. That would be for the incoming frycook to do.
