More Influential: ACDC vs KISS

I got into an argument with someone the other day about who was a more influential band, AC/DC or Kiss. With neither one of us willing to budge on it any, I thought I'd take it to the forum and let the people have their say in the matter. Place your vote for which band you think is more influential to Rock, and state why.

I went for AC/DC. While both bands have been around for the same amount of time (both formed in '73) I feel AC/DC is a bigger name. They were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, while KISS still has not. Their last nomination was rejected. AC/DC found what worked, and went with it, where as KISS switched up their style now and then. Sometimes for the worse.

I had to go with KISS on this one

No offense but AC/DC aside from their guitarist , is pretty bad. He carries their whole band by himself if you ask me.

At least KISS is all there on all members , they are a cohesive unit in which nobody is really being carried

Then KISS has that freaky theatrical stage presence which no doubt is influential in the theatrical stage presence of many other rock acts stage get ups such as Black Veil Brides , Marilyn Manson , Slipknot , Hollywood Undead , etc

Soundwise I can hear more KISS influence in various bands than I can AC/DC influence in various bands. I hate to say it but the only band I know of that sounds possibly AC/DC influenced is Airbourne (and they are a straight up total AC/DC ripoff band). Whereas with KISS I could assume their influence to some degree on countless bands by comparisson.

I think I'm pretty unbiased here too because I'm not an actual fan of either band

I mean , like I said no offense meant or anything and also that this is not a question that could ever have a definitive clear answer either
