The moment of wrestling that I cherish the most ever in wrestling happened at Wrestlemania XX. Chris Benoit had won the World Title in one of my favourite matches of all time. He would then celebrate with Eddie Guerrero, his best friend in the ring. It brings tears to my eyes I was so happy. It has been diluted as an emotional moment, but still was the best moment of the decade for me.

TM I am going to have to agree with you on your whole post.

Chris Benoit had just fulfilled his 18 year odyssey by becoming world heavyweight champion. Then, a legitmately emotional Eddie Guerrero comes to the ring to congratulate Benoit. If you didnt feel something when they embraced in the ring, something's wrong. That hug they shared has to be the defining moment of that wrestlemania and to me, the moment of the decade.

Most of those listed were great moments, but I had to go with Hulk vs. Rock.

I'm not sure which stare down is being referring to. The one on Raw when The Rock interrupted Hogan's promo to challenge him to WrestleMania, or the stare down that happened during the match at WrestleMania X8. Either way, either staredown wins the award. It was such an impressive site to see one of this generation's biggest stars looking right into the eyes of a man most thought would never grace a WWF/E ring again. It was a dream scenario that led to a dream match, and it has to be considered at least in the top 3 moments of this decade.

I voted for Jarrett laying down. That was the final nail in WCW's coffin, and was what finally put the wheels in motion for Vince's monopoly. WCW was in the can before that, but it could have been saved with some good booking, and no matter what they did after that, no one wanted to watch.

I had a really difficult time deciding on this one, but I ended up voting for McMahon on Nitro. After having witnessed the amazing monday night ratings war for around 5 years, this was the climax, as we all knew that eventually (like in all wars) someone will win in the end. Vince now owned both federations of WWF and WCW. "Now what's going to happen?" went through many of our minds. This is the moment of the decade because few, if any, of the other choices on the poll could have caused so many fans to collectively think "NOW what?" and anticipate what was next.

Wow, GREAT list.

I wanted to vote for Rock / Hogan, just because of how iconic that moment was. But, and again I am the only one to do so, I voted for the 9/11 Smackdown.

Understand, for a second, that my college campus is 13 miles from NYC, and my dorm had a lounge with a giant window that faced the skyline. I watched tower #2 fall from less than 15 miles away, and my campus was a mad house for three days.

The word I use to describe McMahon's empassioned speech and Taz's words and Austin's words are simple - cathartic. I've only cried three times watching pro wrestling - the day after Owen's death, Jericho's first title win, and the 9/11 Smackdown. Oh, and the Benoit tribute. That SD meant a lot to me and my ability to move on.

How the HELL is Shane McMahon on Monday Nitro not running away with this right now? That was hands down the single biggest moment of this decade in wrestling. Think about it, WCW, the company that had been kicking McMahon's ass for several years and had a fanbase of millions and millions of people worldwide, PPV deals, weekly TV, magazines, even a fuckin' MOVIE the company helped make, and all of that ended in one night. The WWF officially owned wrestling in America at that point with both ECW and WCW's fall, for the first time EVER. Seriously, this decade has been the first time in wrestling history that one company has dominated the entire industry so much as the WWE has this decade.

The entire spectrum and future of professional wrestling changed in one night when that happened. Nothing else on that list even comes close to the impact that moment had.

Wow two friends won a belt wow two icons stared each other down.

A MCMAHON WAS ON NITRO

This change everything for wrestling, do I need to explain more in depth how huge this was? It's like a the Red Sox buying the Yankees. Come on guys vote with logic here.

my moment was when benoit locked heyman in a sharpshooter and cena made him eat soap.that or eddie winning the gold

when McMahon showed up on Nitro nobody knew what would happen this is the biggest moment of the decade for the simple fact that it signified the end of an era, the end of my personal favorite organization in WCW. I know alot of u will tell me that WCW was horrible and it was in many ways, especially in this decade but in the 90s WCW was great.

My moment may not be as big as any of these but in my opinion Stephanie McMahon recieving a Stone Cold Stunner in the middle of the ring in St Louis, for me was the best moment for me. That may be because I was there live and I Dont think I have ever heard an eruption of screaming and applause like that before in my life and I have been to a few big moments live in wrestling.

The second biggest had to have been 9-11 Smackdown I did cry during this episode along with Owen tribute, which I was there for that one as well.

I went with Flair retiring. There were a lot of people crying that Monday Night, I was not one of them though. Too manly for that kind of stuff. Anyway, it was a fantastic moment and certainly one of the best in Raw history. Certainly a thousand times better than the shit we're seeing nowadays, it gets my vote.

I chose Other. That being Benoit's reaction after winning WM XX. I am a Chris Benoit fan still to this day. The look on his face when he was handed the World Title encapsulated the feeling of ultimate triumph for everyone who has ever worked hard at something for a long time and was considered among the best at something but never got to sit on top of the mountain. Consistenly told he wasn't quite good enough, he showed on that night that his name could rightfully be placed among the best in the world. He was an inspiration for those of us who are trying to do the same.

Benoit/Eddie was one of the last great moments in wrestling, two guys who had been preforming for years, rode together, trained together, and looked out for eachother, where finally at the top. It's too bad both of them had to go, but this particular moment still brings a tear to my eye. Like the great ric flair said, "With a tear in my eye, this is the greatest moment of my life" That quote is right for that particular moment

I picked Hardy wins WWE title for me personally. Not because I think it was the biggest moment this decade, but because it was the biggest moment I witnessed live. I never thought it would happen. I was Jeff's biggest doubter, and boy did he prove me wrong at Armageddon 2008.

I have to go with Jeff winning the title. I absolutely love Jeff Hardy, and I remember reading the "live" results on the main page. I was sitting in a room with just me and my girlfriend and started screaming my head off. Out of all of the things I have seen in my days as a wrestling fan, nothing has brought a reaction, good or bad, out of me like that and I doubt anything else will be able to do that again.

Ya know, I voted for the McMahon/Nitro thing for surprise of the decade, so I'm spreading the wealth by voting for something else here. The laid back, weed smoking, out spoken, original ECW guy wins the WWE's big one- So, of course, RVD winning the WWE title is my moment of the decade. The entire match was monumental leading up to the greatest championship celebration I've ever witness in wrestling. At the time, RVD was the current WWECW champion making his WWE champion win even more significant.
