MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

So apparently a major announcement is being made on Wednesday which will change the MMA industry forever. Bunch of fighters attached to it including GSP.

Laughed when I saw Bjorn Rebney as a name in the story. According to Helwani a bunch of other fighters/managers have contacted him and said that Rebney is not the guy for the job and if he's in they aren't going to be rushing towards this thing.

McGregor has been issued a boxing license in the state of California according to his manager.

Get ready for the biggest PPV of all time.

I just couldn't believe Floyd going against McGregor. Massive pay day and it is boxing, but just a massive risk. Is at the end of his career but he will never hear the end of it if Mcgregor beats him.

Don't know who I'll be rooting for because either guy losing is awesome but to see McGregor giving it to Floyd after he beat him and trying to see Floyd hold his mouth would be the best thing ever.

I don't think that we will get a definite winner. It will most probably be a decision win. I won't be surprised if it's a draw.

Zero pressure on McGregor. He is going to get fucking paid if this happens and nobody expects him to win because it's in a completely different sport. It's a no lose situation for McGregor.

You're insane if you think for a second that a McGregor can win a decision against Floyd or even a draw. It's Floyd Mayweather, not some random boxer. McGregor only has a shot with the left hand and it's razor thin. Mayweather doesn't get hit and if you think McGregor has a chance to get a draw you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

I don't think McGregor can win a round against Mayweather. Floyd will win all 12 rounds and likely dance his way to 50-0.

Yeah, I'm insane.

I don't think that McGregor can defeat Mayweather. I never said that he could win.

And that's the thing that I love about McGregor in this fight, he has 0 pressure and is just as deadly with one punch than almost anyone (pound for pound) on this earth. He is going to be running his mouth like never before and if he gets inside Floyds head then we could see Floyd lose his first fight.

I don't think McGregor will win, as it would be just disrespecting the history of boxing but would I be surprised if McGregor knocks Floyd out? Hell no. Okay maybe a little if Floyd gets put to bed but definitely not if he loses.

But with 0 pressure and being able to get in Floyds head (because he gets in everyone else's) is just going to help McGregor so much.

Uh, wouldn't Dana White/UFC have to sign off on this? I really, really can't imagine they would ever agree to something like that with their biggest star.

It's going to be an interesting time while this thing plays out, KB. I personally think he's fighting Nate Diaz next year with the belt on the line but you never know. Dana does some crazy shit.

You said you wouldn't be surprised if it was a draw. Which means you think that McGregor could match Floyd Mayweather inside a boxing ring.

Anybody who is even thinking about picking McGregor all have the same thing in common. The lot of them are picking the left hand to hit just one time. McGregor doesn't have the skill to beat Floyd Mayweather so to say this fight might end in a draw is beyond foolish.

Holy fuck, McGregor doesn't stand a chance at beating one of the all time best pound for pound boxers in history. Not a chance in hell. He'll get a very nice payday, but Floyd will have three head shots on him before he realizes he's in a boxing match. Unanimous Decision in a one sided embarrassing fight.

From what I've read since McGregor is now a licensed boxer that means he might be able to fall under the Ali Act rules. With the rules from the Ali Act if the UFC tries to stop the fight then McGregor could make a pretty good case that his contract is actually illegal. This would then allow him to fight Mayweather.

Apparently the Nevada commissioner wont let connor go straight to floyd and will want to see how he handles some fights before going against the top fighters such as floyd. Its not going to happen, unless floyd is suddenly going to fight outside of vegas

When he talks about the car accident with the pregnant woman it sounds iffy as fuck on his end. Hearing him talk about UFC 200 and being pulled off the card is the exact opposite. Totally clears up so much stuff and he is able to go through the events and give details on them all.

Demetrious Johnson really needs to move up in weight. He has said he couldn't retire with the money he has made. At this point he is one title defence away from Anderson's record. He really should be much more financial secure but nobody buys his fights. He has to move up and get out of that division. Nobody cares about it and he's likely the 2nd best fighter in the world active at the moment, still rank Jones above him due to difficulty of competition and Cruz because he beat DJ previously, but other than those two nobody is better than DJ.

Such a shame nobody gives a fuck about him. I want him to fight some dude from the jungle or something next since they are struggling to find challengers. Find me some dude from an indigenous tribe and see how DJ goes against that Stone Age strength.

Edit: That video of Nurmagomedov as a child wrestling a bear probably has more views than DJ's fights.

Mighty Mouse is probably my 3rd favorite fighter, & one of the guys that I will buy a PPV to see no matter what else the rest of the card looks like.

I like Mighty Mouse, but yeah, not many people care for the smaller guys. He isn't just winning, he is throttling dudes. It doesn't help that he doesn't have much of a personality, but a guy that dominant deserves better.
