Miz is getting the JBL spot

I kinda like Zeedeevel's plan.

Honestly, before I opened this thread I was totally thinking in the wrong direction (i.e. Miz taking over JBL's role of talking alot of trash and then being jobbed out) Miz is easily the second biggest star to come out of the entirety of the Tough Enough competitions (incidentally, we all know who's the first), but I have a hard time thinking they are going to throw the guy a bone anytime in the near future. With months more of Legacy, MacMahon's, and Batista on the horizon, Cena vs. Show after that, it's kind of hard to see a niche for Miz in newly-crowded Raw Roster.

I think it's much more likely to see a Batista taking HHH's spot in the Orton feud leading somewhere down the line to a Batista heel turn and I think once that happens Miz will be pretty stuck solid in the midcard (maybe feuding with MVP; maybe Shawn Michaels, if he's lucky) for at least another year or two.

Throughout this promo I kept thinking of Jericho's angle with Goldberg back in WCW, where Jericho would keep claiming to have beat Goldberg, despite never stepping in the ring with him. Goldberg ignored it for a while and the eventually got pissed off, all the while the crowd were just pleading for Goldberg to finally shut Jericho up. Being WCW, politics got in the way and there was never a decent pay-off. I think the same could happen here, with Miz constantly claiming to have beaten Cena on various technicalities until Cena finally comes to shut him up. The final match could either be on Raw or a PPV where Cena isn't doing anything, because by the end of it the fans will be desperate for Cena to kick the Miz's ass.

i liked miz's promo last night. i'm surprised they let him say some of the things he said. like the movie bit, ouch! they let a mid carder bash the wwe's poster boy in exposing one of many things that sucks about him? pretty bold. the guy can use the stick pretty well, but he has work to do in the ring. yes, he has improved HUGE which is probably why they teamed him with morrison in the first place. they all knew john was the more talented star, and he along with management see good things in miz and want him to go far. he could make a great us champ right now, and in a few years, he could be world champion, as long as he keeps up the improvement, he'll be fine.

i would totally give you per simply because you also actually just remembered this, but it would be totally useless. i wish they would do something like this but have someone fuck cena over and miz win. what a boost for his career. but wwe will fuck it up

I'm not a big Miz fan, but theres one thing he's got going for him is that he gets genuine heel heat. People just absolutely seem to hate this guy. And by mocking Cena, he actually became even less popular. There is something about him that people just hate, and in a way, thats great for his character and his career.

The day The Miz becomes a main event guy or even a featured guy is the day that RAW loses me as a viewer. I'm sorry but I just cannot buy him. Yes he has improved in the ring but no matter what he does he just looks like an idiot jackass to me. He just reminds me of a stereotype of a some high school bully jock from a movie.

If you are saying "well if you hate him he's a good heel" let me say what I've said many times before. Orton is a "oooooh man I hate you and want to see you get your ass kicked" heel, Miz and Vickie are "well time to change the channel because I literally cannot stand your face/voice" heels.

How can a guy like this get so far but we lose someone who could have been golden like Chris Nowinski (yes I know he had concussions)?

To the point of the thread, no it seems highly unlikely that at this point he is going to fill JBLs spot.

I think Miz is a good wrestler and all - saw him at a house show a couple months back - he seems to get it, but he will need creative to do the rest. I do see Morrison as the stronger link to the tag team. A lot of it is storyline, not a lot of people would have guessed Jericho's great year last year when it started. The storyline is what made it his year.

I readaly responses and I agree with the person who said they thought kenedy's music il sound. I was expecting kenedy or HBK since hes nt doing anything right now and that could be the top midcard fued sinc right nw i cant see another fued for hbk unless they stick him against legcy because of HHH getting bashed in. But ultimately I think that the miz will see a fued coming out of this, I never said he was getting a title rght now but I thin hes on his way with this current push being that HBK, Undertaker, Batista (some sources say he feels he only has a couple good years left), HHH (hopefully but doubt it), and Kane will all be retiring within the next couple years (HBK and tker the soonest and their spots willbe filled by the likes of orton and cena allowing two others to take the young upsart roles in the next year or so) so I totaly agree with all I read and by comparing him to the jbl spot I was just saying top midcard heel whos a coward who will occasionally main event and has his shot at a the big one if injury happens to a any 2 main eventers which does happen (look at when orton, cena, batista were all on and off for a large part of 08 and cena leaves for his movies) like JBL did.

The Miz's in ring work has improved, however I hate how superficial his character is, I know he's milking the whole "A list" thing but this goes beyond heel heat, he's not main event worthy yet. That said I do think a JBL type role would suit him, I don't see him being the top heel, but he'd be great as an upper midcard heel. I'd love to see him feud with MVP, as MVP is a great wrestler who could make him up his game more and truly prove himself after he arguably got the rub from John Morrison in their partnership.

Like it or not, he got way farther than any of us thought. He is dedicated and cocky, I think he will do well. I like him. I like the fact that someone who was a reality TV star is taking this seriously. I think what he shoulda done last nite was to hit Cena from behind when Cena was staring down big show. That woulda solidified him as a true heel.

I noticed from the promo he did that they are pushing him as a coward heel to posibly be a main event guy. Do you think that this is it for him hes either going to sink or swim do you agree, they dont give a 5 plus min promo to just anyone and he really did good with it

Miz has improved quite a bit since he first started but he's not ready for this. He needs to get in there with the Kofi Kingstons before he is ready for Cena. At this stage in his career, Miz shouldn't even almost be a threat to guys like Cena or Triple H or even Randy Orton for that matter. He should be feuding with MVP over the US belt; even that's a push from where he was. Morrison is/was the real talent in that tag-team. At least they're giving him a chance though.

The Miz really, really impressed me on Raw. I wasn't expecting a long promo, but he delievered a fairly lengthy promo to gain some crowd heat. He really gave a good promo and it allowed him to showcase his own abilities, something we haven't seen for over a year as he was teaming with John Morrison for a long time. I think on Raw, with the right push I really think the Miz can become a solid upper mid-carder by the end of the year. He is not ready for a main event push, but what is truly stopping him from eventually reaching that status? He's got the look, the mic skills and the in ring abilities to be something special.

A mini feud with John Cena definately won't hurt him, but I think it will benefit him if he wrestles with the mid-carders first, and perhaps feud with MVP for his United States Title. The landscape of Raw has changed, and the mid-card division on Raw is a lot more interesting than the main event. The Miz should feud with guys like MVP, Mr Kennedy and Kofi Kingston before he is ready to face the big guns. But the Miz is doing something great, he wants to prove himself by beating John Cena, the biggest name in the company. The guy showed great enthusiasm in his voice and I really like his new direction, and I hope I can say the same for John Morrison after this week's Smackdown.

If the WWE can continue to give air time and a push to guys like The Miz, then I think the entire WWE will be more enjoyable. The Miz said something that interested me: "I'm sick of seeing the same guys main eventing pay per view, after pay per view". Even though John Cena was probably a bad example to use, considering he hasn't been with the company for even 10 years yet, he is still right. Look at Raw's main event for Judgment Day: Randy Orton vs. Batista. We've seen it before. Hell, look at Raw's main event this past week: Batista vs. Big Show. We've seen that too. I think the Miz can really freshen things up on Raw as well as improving to hopefully show others his great potential.

It'd be interesting to see where The Miz goes with this but I'm not exactly sure considering it looks like Big Show will be working with Cena. I'd like to see The Miz working with Big Show, perhaps in an alliance against Cena, and The Miz could get the rub from Cena and The Miz.

I dunno, he still looks like a North Jersey douche nozzle without the orange tan. I can't stand him and not in the "I'm going to watch him get his ass handed to him" way. It is more like "Ahh, Miz is on, think I'll go bake a cake or do some trigonometry for shits and giggles."

I don't think so Miz is far off from main event status it'll take him years to get at JBL's main event jobber level

Miz I think is getting the spot at this time, but the issue is will he keep that spot?, after the bad promo on Raw creative is gonna blame Miz for not actually doing what they wanted, but the fact is, is the Miz the person who should take the blame for this?

If his push continues then the Miz needs to use this to his advantage and prove his worth with having at least upper midcard matches with the talent on Raw otherwise he will get pushed down the card more and more until he gets released, JBL was ok in the ring but once he got on the Mic the guy was solid Gold. lets hope Miz can use that chemistry with Morisson and use it to put hiself over, otherwise his career on raw may be short lived
