Miz is getting the JBL spot

golden miz

.... BECAUSE I'M AWESOME
I noticed from the promo he did that they are pushing him as a coward heel to posibly be a main event guy. Do you think that this is it for him hes either going to sink or swim do you agree, they dont give a 5 plus min promo to just anyone and he really did good with it

How did you decipher that they are trying to push him to the main event? Just because he called out Cena? The Miz is far away from the main event. He might have a US Title feud or something. Maybe he can have a run with Kofi or something.

With Jericho off RAW, JBL "done". And Batista and Cena as baby faces. And HHH as a face too. RAW needs another main event heel. They've got Orton/Legacy and The Big Show and that's about it.

I could very easily see The Miz hitting main event status. The guy can cut a promo better than many veterans. And his in-ring talent has improved 1000% in the past year. Right now, his ring work is Better than Cena's, Batista's, and DEFINITELY JBL's. The only problem is, I doubt if he'll be able to carry some of the more untalented faces the way only Jericho and RKO seem able to do.

But regardless. What it comes down to is how much heat he can draw. And he can draw more than enough to merit mainevent status.

he's got alot of work to do. he's an average wrestler, but his mic skills need work. he had it better when he was on real world and he could just mock The Rock's voice but now that he's using his own its just not hitting right, yet.

Are you kidding me? He isn't better than cena, batista or JBL. Ok maybe better than batista. But he's nowhere near the level main eventers are and i think he's still around 2 or 3 years away from being a main eventer. Yes, he might be added on some title matches as The brian kendrick but he is not going to be a randy orton anytime soon. I see him high mid carding at best..

He did okay... i'de have to re watch it.... if hes gonna be a top heel he need to get more polish in ring.. Defently improved but last single match i seen, Him and Kofi, Draft night it was just sloppy..... Im sure it was both miz and kofi.... but he should be thrown in a fued with a well polished vet..... Finlay sounds perfect but finlays on ECW.... idk well see hopefully he doent get lost in the shuffle or pushed to hard and too fast and fails terriably

I don't see Miz going anywhere. Morrison is definitely the alpha tag partner. Morrison is pretty much HBK and Miz is Janetty. . . . except no one was kicked through a window, sadly.

How is Miz Marty Janetty? Not all tag teams that break up end up like them. Janetty was absolutely nothing without Michaels. I do agree that Morrison is the better one out of the team but I think Miz can have a pretty successful career. Think of Miz and Morrison more so like Edge and Christian. Edge is the breakout star but Christian has also done pretty damn well for himself and so has Matt Hardy even though Jeff is the bigger star. Although Morrison will probably have the better career I think Miz will do well for himself.

My biggest concern with the Miz promo tonight was that he seemed to forget where to go with the "you say "you can't see me" " insult. he had to say that like 5 times before ending it with the "your movie hasn't been out long enough for me to". That would have been GOLDEN if he nailed it the first time, but he kinda dropped the ball on it.

Miz called out Cena tonight, and got the win via forfeit due to injure. Is he setting up a fued with Cena, or next week will he call out Triple H to get the same result?

Miz is not main eventing anytime soon. Nope, not happening.

If he main events before guys like Morrison and MVP then there is something terribly wrong with the world. I don't understand how some guys in the IWC see a mid carder have a small promo that includes a main eventer and think HOLY SHIT, He's gonna main event now!!! WTF?!?!?

I was just in a thread about MVP going to the main event and explained reasons there on why these guys need to be built up before being thrust into the main event. It doesn't work (CM Punk) unless you are really really good (Lesnar). Neither MVP or Miz are anywhere near Lesnar's level so they need to be built up really well before they try the main event area, otherwise they will fail.

Who know's though, WWE does tend to make very odd decisions (Punk lost to Kane, WTF?!) so they may well be main eventing Judgement Day.

JUST WHEN I TRY to like Cena..... Something happens.
Sunday, Cena puts on a GREAT match with Edge and takes a sweet chokeslam into a spot light/fire cracker. It was awesome.

BUT THEN THE MIZ challenges him and he literally does not accept. He was appearantly backstage, but did not accept. Gay. Gay. Gay. What happened to "never back down from a challenge"?

I know this is a reach to hate Cena, but literally this does not make sense.

so this is my first time ever posting on any forum ever... never thought it would be about the Miz.... anywho... I thought he did a fine job on his promo tonight, granted the "you can't see me" thing was overly repeated, but i thought he handled the chanting and lillian garcias bit like a heel of old... actually letting the crowd know that he hears them and that he can wait cause he's better was JBL but it was also the Rock during the Corporation and it helped make a great heel... I don't see him as main event though cause of that.... I agree with snowdogg that he'll be calling out Trips next week to the same result... Only thing i really hated was how he makes the promo cena doesn't show, then cena stumbles out to screw big show... totally denounced that credibility of the promo....

ps- if they really wanted him to main event or feud with cena, he would've jumped the Marine while he was staring down Show.... imo....

With all do respect to all of you , but you have no idea about the miz situation.
WWE are so over with this guy and if they were not they would have fired him years ago . The guy has charisma he is good in the mic and he is decent in the ring and has improved 180 degree from when he 1st started at smack down , and yes he will be in the main event but not yet maybe next 2 years , and also he rely reminds me of cena he is just like him ,look at it this way he represents this generation era just like cena back in 2002 , and ill say this the miz is in the right place in the right time , this should have been matt hardys role but he is injured +y2j is on SD+jbl left +less heels on raw , so we will be seeing allot of the miz on raw .

Vince is huge on miz. that's coming from meltzer. im not saying meltzer is right, but it makes sense now. i hope to see him in the main event soon, probably within the next year, but right now hes just gettin over.

you have a point, I personally believe that Morrison is the better wrestler, better in ring and has the better look.

But what if.....the people who make the decisions dont feel the same? Why was the Miz drafted to the number one show? we'll have to wait and see how this pans out, but what if this is more than a sink or swim test for Miz, what if the are building Miz to be the break out star. It will be interesting to see what happens to Morrison on smackdown, will they give him an IC title run a push towards the Main event or will they put him in stupid feuds or stick him with Melina again??

Perhaps this is the start of a run for Miz, give him a bodyguard ala HBK had with Sid and Nash. Give him US runs, could you imagine if they had him win the rumble...and go on to win the title at WM26. One hell of a push but thats not beyond Vinny Mac.

The next 2-3 months could tell us alot about the futures of both these guys.

the miz wont take jbls place on raw.

Miz will wander about the mid/higher mid card for the rest of his career. yes theres a possible u.s title run in there somewhere but i dont think he could be taken seriously as a main eventer, excluding ecw.

anyone who saw raw this week might have though matt hardy is currently being groomed as the next jbl. with his heel promo and cheating victory over goldust.

i have no problem with miz (with the exception of his ridiculous hat) being in the mid card as a top heel in that division but i just cant see him challenging for the big one anytime soon.

After wathcing the Miz cut his promo last night I will agree with 1 statement he made: "I'm tired of seeing the same old guys always in the main event". I'm not saying the Miz is can't be a main eventer he can if done properly. The guy's in ring work has improved, he has the charisma and he's pretty good on the mic. I'd say give him a good year but no more than two to build him up.

During Miz's entire promo, I kept thinking of the brilliant way to end it.

Have in challenge HHH next week, the same way he challenged Cena. Have Miz "win" by forfeit again.

The week after, have him go after Mr. Kennedy, except this time, Kennedy comes back, and beats The Miz in his return match, and we have a nice mid-card feud starting up.

The entire promo last night I was just waiting on "KENNEDY!" over the PA system. Would have been awesome.

Miz promo last night was great and I hope he can carry the ball here as it seems he's gonna get that push. No major title but I hope the U.S goes around his waist at some point. Just needs to find something that will get some major heat on him and he's good to go. Calling out Cena, well that's a stretch but I hope he can score a pinfall or something on him if they feud. I don't want to see Cena chew him up and spit him out.

Lets see what Miz can do!

Love this idea. When Miz was announcing 'winner by forfeit..the MIIIZZZ', I was thinking he sounded alot like Kennedy when he got going.

Now, if we could just get Kennedy out of ICU, we could get started.

I think he could make this a short gimmick - call out top stars to get forfeit victories, before he finally gets his come-uppance from someone like Batista etc., when he gets battered. Only problem with that is, he loses all momentum.

With regards to him being like JBL, i disagree. While he is good on the mic, he's not JBL - yet. He definately has better in ring skills and an overall better look, but he's not drawing the heat that JBL did - YET.

Because he could. He could be the dark horse of the 2009 Draft, of his tag team and perhaps of his generation. Sometimes people you don't expect to get big do. Miz is that type of character. He could be HUGE in WWE. We'll see.

It's clear that creative has been listening to the fans and is trying very, very hard to bring some new people up, as evidenced by MVP and Miz getting substantial TV time last night. However, Miz has a ways to go, but there's no reason to think he can't get there. An imminent Cena feud doesn't seem likely as he's going to have his hands full with Big Show, but there's no reason he can't factor himself in said feud. It would be nice to see Show get a PPV victory over Cena, as Show could really benefit from it and I could see Vicki enlisting Miz's help to ensure that gets done. A Show/Miz alliance could be good for both of those guys and could also justify Cena spending time on Miz. Cena can get Miz over even in a Miz loss as we saw a few weeks back with Jack Swagger, so it's not crazy to think Vince is high on this guy - he comes from the world of entertainment and not "wrasslin", so he's got that on his side as well. As for challenging for a title, I don't see it in his near future but you will see him in some main event type matches for certain.

Was he backstage at THAT time ? No he was not...During that whole promo The King even said that everyone knew Cena would not be here tonight. At the time of the promo Cena was not in the building, he showed up at the tail end of RAW.

It makes a lot of sense and like others have mentioned I expect him to do the same next week with Triple H. I think next week after the Game's music goes off and Miz asks to be named winner by forfeit again we could have Cena come out accept his challenge and start to beat down Miz only for Show to come down and take Cena out, Miz covers for the win and it furthers Show/Cena which will be added to the JD card.

I can definately see him getting a US title run before the year is over and have a nice feud with mvp. Having them feud would put two people together that they obviously want to push. If they can put on matches that the fans care about then hopefully when they get put with established main eventers they can put on even better matches. Miz will most likely be the Christian of E+C and will manage to make a nice career for himself but nothing too spectacular
