Missing: Cruiserweight Division

Ladies and Gentlemen, all of the Superstars are aimlessly looking for their long lost division, have you seen it? Because to be quite frank, I haven't. And due to that, I have NO idea why the cruiserweights are remaining on Smackdown.

This thread is to discuss the overall opinion on what you think W.W.E. should do with its remaining cruiserweights? Apparently they have no intentions on bringing back the division, otherwise you'd think they would've by now.

Personally, I think talent from Superstars such as Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble, & Funaki are going wasted.

None of them have any real direction in the company, outside of Noble's weird storyline with Chuck & Michelle, at which point when its over.. Noble will quickly be forgotten about more than likely.

I think this hurts Shannon Moore the most, as to me, he's one of the best cruiserweight talents they have, thats highly underrated. Also, what will happen when Gregory Helms returns? The man single-handedly carried the cruiserweight division, but he isn't built or really made for any other division.

I miss the cruiser-weights. I loved that division. I mean, sure, I can appreciate the huge muscle-men who pick each other up and throw them about (Batista, say). But I loved the high flying quick paced matches, and I wish they would get off their butt and bring it back. It was so much fun to watch, and gave Samckdown something explosive and special! Dangit!

It's a sad thing to see, that many people, just being wasted. And even worse, when they finally do get released, TNA will sign them, and then the TNA stars will be wasted! So the only way that any of this can be resolved is for WWE to bring back the Crusierweight Division.

And to note on what Will said, I can see Palumbo being gone LONG before Noble. Jamie Noble is working backstage, and I believe this is his third storyline in a row that started and ended with nothing.

I have a feeling the crusiers may be moved to EC-Dub and rot away.If you look at ECW(90s) and WCW(90s) they crusiers were Amazing. It was Holy shit moment after holy shit moment.

On another note:
Rey was one of the best and now hes up near the main event.Does anyone think a drop back to the crusiers would hurt Rey?

Out of all the current crop of cruiserweights, I think that Helms would be able to make the jump to US title contender. His frame is similar to that of Hardys, and since Hardy was in contention for the US title, why couldn't Helms be upon his return?

Hell, if Chavo can try and go after the heavyweight title, why not?

I feel I'm in the minority that doesn't like the Cruiserweight division.

I mean, what's really the thrill behind it? They never get too big of an exposure, so you never really have any big stars or huge matches to be excited about, and the feuds are always second-rate because of that little time spent. And doesn't it sort of cheapen the concept of a championship when you have "#1 contender, Funaki"? Lol.

Now, yeah, I definitely agree that some of these guys are going to waste, but I think that's because the WWE has an unbalanced roster lineup for the 3. Some guys like Funaki and Super Crazy, to me, are talented enough to be jobbers but nothing more. So why not make a tag team out of them? That way, you have two guys who can job to the current tag team title scene AND to the current IC/US challengers.

The three best guys out of Smackdown's "cruiserweight division", that haven't been pushed much further than it, are in my opinion Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble, and Jimmy Wang Yang. As we've seen, Moore/Yang has been a pretty good tag team, so logically why can't these guys just stay a tag team and become viable contenders for the championship? That'd "give them something to do so they aren't going to waste" as some people are implying. And Noble, he's sort of Smackdown's answer to Santino Marella - the small and annoying talker. I don't see why Noble couldn't successfully be a contender for the Untied States championship once Hardy takes it from MVP. That's making good use of good talent. Funaki though, the way I see it, you can't waste something that isn't there to waste. This guy's had what...three matches in the past 5 months, and nobody expects him to win? He's what Nunzio is to ECW and what Duggan is to Raw...someone who pops up because they have nothing else better to do and they want someone to get beaten cleanly.

There is a simple soultion to this, send them all to ECW. ECW only has 1 title, so just send the cruserwight title there and all the cruiserweights. You have Jamie Noble, Super Crazy, Shannon Moore, Jimmy Wang Yang, Chavo (If They use him as a crusier) Gregory Helms, And you can even add London and Kenerick since there jobbing on RAW. There you have 8 great cruiserwights for ECW and that is all you need. And they can get the exposure they deserve as ECW only conentrates on the ECW title, its perfect. You cant let go of all these Cruiserweights, they have talent, so use it WWE!

Also, for the Cruiserweight title, a lot of TNA X division stars not happy with their situation have sent word to WWE that they're interested in being hired. So, to fill the X Division, they could use these guys, and it'd be awesome to see. Think about having WWE Cruiserweight division with guys like Senshi.

But, big bad Vince is too stubborn to use and put over guys who made their reputations elsewhere.

HOWEVER, didn't he used to love doing that back in the 90's? Let me think: Dudley Boyz, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and so on...

My opinion changes overtime of whether I'm in favor of the crusierweight division or not. I don't think the WWE crusierweight division can compare with the X-Division of TNA. TNA's X-Division has so many interesting matches, and they have some better superstars. We see some of the WWE cruiserweights (Rey Mysterio, etc.) competing for the Heavyweight title, so there isn't much need for that division right now.

I've said it since the expansion of ECW into a third brand, the Cruiserweight championship needs to go to ECW and allowed to be showcased. People say that ECW needs tag belts, blah. The tag divisions on both Raw and Smackdown are shit, so why introduce a third?

My problem with the WWE is there shit overall booking of their different divisions. They try to book light heavyweights as heavyweights, which is simply stupid. I know, it will open the eventual door of "spot monkeys" "no selling" and all that nonsense. It's fine, if it applied to the heavyweights. There has to be a difference between divisions or it's all just crap. Honestly, wrestling is about suspending realism and letting yourself go.

So let the cruisers go to ECW and let them wrestler their style of match. Then let ECW be what it once was, something worth watching.

Shannon Moore has a lot of talent, which is being wasted by the non existant Cruiserweight division. The WWE need to work to bring this back. Cruiserweights generally have a lot of talent, as they aren't necessarily pushed through their mic skills or ability to make money. The Cruiserweight division would be a great way for the WWE to get some fresh feuds going, and to also liven up a few boring weeks on Smackdown.

Well, you know, I'm certainly not surprised the Cruiserweights are going forgotten. I know it's very hard for WWE marks to do this, but take a look at TNA. They've buried the X division, once their most exciting commodity. It almost never gets on TV anymore. Look at old WCW. By 2000, god damn EDDY FERRARA was holding the Crusierweight title. Look, I hate to shatter all your hopes, but this is AMERICAN MAINSTREAM WRESTLING, unfortunatley, where little guys get squashed by muscleheads and no one honestly gives a SHIT about womens wrestling unless they're removing their clothes. Sad, but true. And though ECW and the Luchas in WCW during the 90's and Flyin' Brian SHOWED everyone how great lightweights could be, no one cares. It's Batista and Bobby Lashley everyone came to see, not Super Crazy, Tajiri and Jamie Noble. And I, unfortunatley, do not see a change coming anytime soon.
