Milk-O-Mania or the beer truck?

I was talking the other day with a few friends and for some reason we got into an argument about which one was better: Kurt Angle spraying the Alliance with milk or Stone Cold Steve Austin spraying Shane, Vince, and The Rock with beer. We all had valid arguments as to which one was better. I would like to know what you guys think.

I think both sketches were classic but had different meanings.
1. Stone Cold beer shower was simply the bad ass employee going against the Boss. The Boss rich and powerful and what rich and powerful people drink ( wine or champagne), the employee was your average Joe and what your Average Joe usually drink (beer). The shower was stone cold way of telling them to go F yourself's.
2. Kurt Angle milk bash was more of the WWE guy fighting for the company. why he use milk and not beer? Kurt at the time was known not only as a real life Olympic Gold Medalist but a faithful Christian, so thats why they use the milk.
Two totally different story lines similar revenge gimmicks but both are separate classics just like the milk truck Kurt was driving and only in the wwe milk and beer trucks have fire hoses.

Honestly I think Austins was more memorable just because before then it had never been done before, by the time Kurt did it its like ok Austin did this before with beer so its like a slap in the face that he did it to him. I mean its not that Kurts wasn't amusing, but it just seems like it could've been different and unique but it was just another carbon copy.

Both are great but I think the Austin's Beer truck was the original and the best. Angle's milk was a rip off of the Beer truck. Here is why good old Stone Cold wins.

1. It was the first time something like that was done by a superstar. Angle just copied that
2. It was BEER!
3. The Austin/Corporation feud was alot better then the alliance feud in my opinion
4. watching Vince doing a swim move while getting soaked with beer was priceless
5. And finally I was in attendance for the Beer Truck In Albany NY Sitting with my back to the wall in the upper deck but it was worth it. So I'm kind of bias in my decision.

1. Angle didn't copied it, WWE creative writers recycle the gimmick.
2. This was the only time in stone cold career he wasted beer lol.
3. The question wasn't which feud was better. But your right on that.
4. I saw Vince do that same swim at a live Super show at MSG , but stone cold didn't use a truck or hose, he stunned Vince then he poured about 10 cans of beer on Vince , this would had been great for tv .

As mentioned before both are classics. But as far as which one is better, well, Austins is better. It sounds cliche but Austin's was the original and usually the original's are the best. Although Kurt Angle's wasn't far behind Austin's and could be argued it was just as good as Austin's (which is the point of this thread I guess). Somebody mentioned it being a slap in the face to Austin. Well that was the whole point wasn't it. Austin and Angle were in this really classic fued at the time. What's a better way to piss off an opponent. Angle used a stunt Austin made famous; nothing is better than that. I'll stop talking right now because I feel like I'm rambling on. But that's my opinion.

that one was the best for me because you had this huge monster, the big show, being nearly reduced to tears as he's sprayed with all those awful things

Both segments were great. It’s hard to say which was better because while obviously similar they were different.

Beer truck:

This was right before WM15 and did a great job of further hyping the main event. That huge truck driving down the aisle was a sight to behold. The crowd was hyped from just the presence of the truck alone. Then Austin cut a great promo on Mr. Promo himself. Spraying down three people who valued their image so much was great. It was one of the most unique visuals ever in wrestling. Austin standing on top of the truck with the crowd going crazy is one of the most memorable images of the attitude era. It also has the advantage of being the original.

Milk truck:

This was a better segment as far as humor went. When I think of this segment I think of everything that happened before Angle showed up. Remember this was Stone Cold appreciation night. All of the Alliance were kissing Austin’s ass more than ever. The entire segment was entertaining from everyone horribly singing Wind Beneath My Ring, to Debra’s cookies, to Tazz getting royally bithced out for not wearing a Stone Cold shirt. The crowd exploded when Angle’s music hit and while the image of the milk truck wasn’t as strong as the beer truck it was still something to see. Sure it had been done before, but going from beer to milk was a funny twist. I laugh every time I think of Angle chugging milk like Austin did beer. “It’s homogenized!” Classic call by JR.

When I think of the beer truck I think of a bad ass segment. When I think of the milk truck I think of a hilarious segment. I guess it depends on which mood you’re in when it comes to which is better.

The two segments were both excellent. They're really different though. Like Brain said, the milk truck was funny, while the beer truck was just Austin being a bad ass. The beer truck was more meaningful, in a way. It was the boiling point in the Austin/McMahon/Rock feud. It was the event that kicked off the first of 3 'Mania matches, it signaled the "beginning" of one of the greatest WrestleMania feuds in history. It was also symbolic in the way that it foreshadowed what would happen at 'Mania, where Austin came out on top once again, thus making them look like fools again. With the milk truck, it was more to push Angle as a face. It was yet another bit of foreshadowing, because Angle would come out on top in their match at Unforgiven. The whole thing showed just how different Angle and Austin were. They were polar opposites, and they showed that by using the milk truck segment with Angle and Austin.

Either way, both were good.

It's a funny and interesting comparison, but you have to ask yourself... would the milk truck segment make any sense without the beer truck segment coming first?

Yeah, kind of. It would still have been funny, but instead of an, "Holy shit! He's doing Austin's beer truck shtick with a milk truck!" vibe, it would have been more of a "What the fuck is he doing?" vibe. The audience would have had nothing to go on, it would have been new and interesting, but it would have been more weird than anything else.

That's why Austin's beer truck was the better one, it was the original and it made Milkamania possible. Stone Cold Steve Austin and beer were almost synonymous, and when he came out there with a whole truck full of beer and sprayed it all over the Corporation, it just clicked, and everyone loved it.

The reason the Kurt Angle milk truck made sense was because Austin paved the way for him, and that's why the beer truck is superior to the milk truck.

Too me they were both great, and funny in different ways. I'll never forget the sight of McMahon trying to swim out of the beer....or Angle clanking the Milk Cartons together and gulping it down after he did his damage! Both in my opinion were very memorable, I do however think Austin gets more credit merely for one reason....his was first! But to me, I thought they were both delightful pieces of entertainment, and each served a purpose as to what they were doing at the time.

They were both great...

I would rank Austin's ahead of Kurt's because it was the original. He came out there and soaked Vince's Corporation with beer. It was one of those moments I will NEVER forget.

Kurt's was awesome too though. It was obviously a play off of Austin's beer truck event. But, it was Kurt Angle style. He started by throwing milk cartons at Austin and the Alliance. Kurt soaked Austin, Debra and the rest of them. The whole time, Kurt was screaming in his Kurt way.

Kurt drank the cartons of milk on top of the truck afterwards, like Austin with the beer.

Austin's face was disgusted. It was great.

The common denominator in both of these was Austin. He did the beer spraying and then was the one getting sprayed with milk.

Both were classic moments... If I had to choose one to be considered better by me, it would be Austin's overall.

I would say that as the original, Austin's was better. It has never been done before and was special in that the employee was pissed off and absolutely humilating his boss in public by spraying him with beer. As always, Vince was perfect in his role swimming in the beer.

Kurt's was brilliant too though, as the American Hero toasted his success with the Austin style banging together of the 2 drinks then pouring all over his face. The milk signalled Kurt's family-friendly blue eyed boy character, and was brilliant in that he was using Austin's famous beer-truck idea against him but making it funnier.

Both were awesome, two of the best moments of the era for me. I loved wrestling at this point, it was so much fun and with Austin and Angle you have two of the most talented guys of all time to carry them out.

Let's not think of Angle's as a rip off of Asutin's. it was clear it was done in a mocking sort of way.

Both were incredible. I remember both like they were yesterday.

The Beer Bath was incredible because Austin was peaking at his rebel role. And he played it so well. Driving a full 18-wheeler down to the ring while the Rock was still talking and just sprayed them down was unbelievable, and Vince swimming in it was hillarious.

The Milk truck was something that I giggle just thinking about. He first started pelting members of the Alliance with little Milk cartons, then went nuts with the hose on like 15 guys in the ring. Then there were two or three guys who tried to attack Angle and he just assaulted them with it. haha Then to top it all off he stood on the truck and covered himself in milk the way Austin did with beer, it was priceless.

Both were great, but I thik I enjoy the milk truck the best, just too funny.
