Sit Upon The Frozen Heavens
The idea for this thread popped into my head while I was at work today but instead of making this a series I'm just gonna update this thread every Saturday with a new band. Seeing how I want this thread to get people to listen to new music there is only one band I can start with.

Darling Violetta

Most everyone knows one of their songs they just don't know it's this band.

This band has been active since '97 and is usually Labeled Dark Pop which isn't that surprising after you listen to some of their songs. Right now they have 2 members (Cami Elen & Jymm Thomas) but as you can tell from the Pic I used there was 3 more members (Atto Attie, Steve McManus & Chris Pott) of the band at one point.

They made their first EP entitled Bath-Water-Flowers in 1997 and their second EP The Kill You EP 2 years later in 1999. They made their first LP Parlour in 2003. in 2009 they started their 4th album but it has yet to be released.

Not for everyone but I personally love them. a bunch of use were in X's Synchtube room a couple nights ago and we were listening to the Angle Theme and I decided to download their music and I'm damn happy I did so I thank X for playing that song because without it I seriously doubt i would have bothered.

Lacuna Coil
Lacunacoil.jpg

Back when I first Joined WZ Justin did a thread similar to this one and he highlighted Lacuna Coil and enjoyed them. I didn't immediately become an avid fan but after listening to them on YT and having bought some of their albums I will say these guys are awesome. If you haven't listened to them you really should.

Lacuna Coil is an Italian Gothic Metal band from Milan that formed in 1994. The current members are Cristina Scabbia( vocals, primary lyricist), Andrea Ferro(vocals), Cristiano Migliore(guitar), Marco Biazzi(guitar), Marco Coti Zelati(bass guitar, keyboards, primary composer), Cristiano Mozzati(drums, percussion). They also have 3 former member and 2 band members that perform exclusively at their live shows.

They may have formed in 1994 but they didn't put out their self titled EP until 1998. Their Debut Album entitled n a Reverie was put out a year later in 1999 and since then they have put out an album every year or so with their next one entitled Dark Adrenaline set to be released this October.

I try to end these with my thoughts on the band but other than saying that they are awesome (which they are) I don't know what else to add. I will be buying their new album if not on release day then as close as I can.

OK seeing how it's been a while since I updated I'm just gonna do it every Thursday now starting today

The Megas
megas-pic-2.jpg

I first heard of this band a while ago when Leafy (I think) and Doc were talking about them so I gave them a listen. I fell in love right away and bought all their albums. There's just something about these guys that I've never heard before and it is awesome.

The Megas are in a genre of music called Nintendo Rock. Acoording to Wikipedia it is a music genre that fuses elements of modern rock with 8-bit music, chiptunes, and video game music. In particular The Megas focus on the Megaman series of video games with Get Equipped & Get Acoustic based on Megaman 2 with an album based Megaman 3 TBA. To hype the album they put out a single entitled Sparked a war.

Members: Josh Breeding (vocals & Guitar), Eric von Doymi (vocals & Guitar), Greg Schneider (bass & Backing vocals), Mike Levinson (drums) & Brian DiDomenico (Keyboard)

I got introduced to these guys by Sparky while we were talking on MSN. HE told me later he thought I wouldn't like them but he was wrong. I hate the vast majority of hip hop but from the first time i heard Stopping All Stations I was hooked. I love the beats, I love the fact the they have an actual message in their songs. All in all a great hip hop group and if you're a fan of hip hop haven't given them a listen you would be doing yourself a favor by listening to the songs I've posted.

One of my EXes was into Otep and while we were dating she had me listen to them. I liked it a bit but didn't think to much of it but after a while they became on of my favorite Heavy Metal bands. The fact that the singer is a female astounds me, I never pictured a woman as a lead singer of a heavy metal band but she does a great job and i can't picture this band with any other singer. Great music and if you never heard them check out the songs i posted and tell me what you think.

I first heard Dead Kennedys on Guitar Hero ( I forget which one) when it came out and i thought it had a good beat and while I didn't understand the meaning i enojoyed the lyrics and loved playing this on the game. Since then I've gotten all their albums and while i still don't quite understand the meaning behind a lot of their lyrics I think this band is a must listen to any fan of punk music.

NeuroticFish
Neuroticfish-2.jpg

Neuroticfish’s sole member is Sascha Mario Klein. He began experimenting with music on his own in the early '90s. After Neuroticfish was born, Klein did not make the typical efforts of a musician to send out a demo; instead, he relied on the internet as a medium of expression for his music. Klein was eventually offered a place on a synthpop compilation called A Reflexion of Synthpop. From this point on, Neuroticfish gained popularity in the club scene, where he has made an impact ever since. He gained some notoriety after a song contained the sample "Electronic body music is dead." On May 12, 2008, the official Neuroticfish web site states that the musical project is "closed"

There are three LPs out from NeuroticFish. No Instruments (1999), Les Chansons Neurotiques (2002) & Gelb(2005)

I first heard Neuroticfish a week ago actually. The song Close was posted on the first page of Doc's thread in the GSD and after listening to it i went to Youtube and listened to more of their songs and at the behest of Doc i downloaded all three of their albums and so far I've listened to the first 2 and loved both of them from the first song to the last. I've heard Gelb is the best Album of the 3 and if it's anything like the first 2 it is gong to be awesome. If you're a fan of electronica then you should give these songs a listen.
