Mike Knox Gimmick Change

If anyone has noticed, for the past two weeks on Smackdown!, Mike Knox has been debuting more of an evil doctor style gimmick.

He appears to have an immense knowledge of biology and even appeared during his ring entrance (in one of those pop-up mini screens) with some glasses speaking smartly.

Do you think this is the best way to go with this man?

I think this is PERFECT. It gets him away from the typical other monsters. It gives him this intelligent feel, that his offense isn't just mindless clubbing due to his size but calculated attacks. That he can pick and tear you apart because he knows exactly where to cause pain.

I must admit I got a feel of Dr. Eggman during his recent promo. But nevertheless, this could really work on building him up. Keeps the mystery... "How does he know all of this?" whilst also building his character.

Your thoughts?

(PS. Surely Smackdown has aired everywhere now? Seen as Summerslam is on later. Haha. Just wanna make fully sure, don't wanna be banned again. *Shudders*)

He looks good and is one of the big men actually worth watching. I don't know about titles, but this guy is main event stuff for the top faces to face off with. He's got the look but he goes about the ring in a much better way compared to other monsters. After Finlay, have him face Kane or Khali (just to put him out for good if Kane doesn't do it), then yes put him in a title program and not a fatal 4 way!

This is the perfect gimmick for him, something pretty unique in the current product. Someone who's incredibly intelligent AND strong? Sounds *almost unbeatable to me. This gimmick could go a long way. I just hope creative doesn't screw this up...

I have to admit it Planty its the best gimmick for him, the fact is why didn't creative do this before?, Mike is solid on the Mic and the best pound for pound brawler on the smacdown roster, his evolution on the brand speaks volumes for the fact that he didn't get over on raw or ECW.

but the fact is it is now proven that it wasnt his fault, the guy has literally ran with this gimmick and is making it his own, he seems sadistic, maniacle and even more enduring then anyone ive seen with this gimmick alone.

I just hope they keep pushing him and with his solid feud with finlay making it on ppv at some point with the way the wwe is going in regards to pushing feuds and giving fans the payoff at the PPV's with feuds is a perfect way to get stars like Mike Knox over, he is making a splash and i do believe may be the next big midcarder on the roster to face Mysterio at one time or another.

Good Going smackdown creative and keep this up, IMO its things like this that are making the brand much better then raw overall

I like it actually, it's something that you wouldn't really expect to see on a big guy. You also don't expect such a big guy to have such a soft voice, so I think this could potentially go somewhere.

I've been a fan of Mike Knox for a long while, so I'm glad to see the WWE finally at a little something with him. The silent, one dimensional thug thing is just completely over and done with and it wasn't doing Knox any favors.

I think the best idea now is a Morrison/Knox feud.

Where does Morrison go currently? He's in no real storyline. You could have Knox mention the abs of Morrison and how his body is in perfect shape, so athletically gifted, but unfortunately for John... he knows just how to take that apart bone by bone. It should be a way to get them both over and gives JoMo a real feud. This is okay what's happening with Finlay right now, but until Finlay changes his theme back to his old one I really can't take anything to do with him seriously personally as a fan.

So yeah. Morrison feuding with the evil doctor style gimmick Mike Knox would be awesome!

Finlay could be placed into something with the Hart Dynasty. It worked pretty well enough on ECW. You could easily throw in Truth to be his partner in a bit of a tag feud. The Hart Dynasty working with a veteran like Finlay would help them a lot, plus R-Truth who has a lot of flash moves could learn a lot of basic ring skills off the man.

Back on topic, Mike Knox... is working.

I love Mike Knox,Mike Knox's Beard,and Mike Knox's gimmick.The whole evil doctor thing is fucking awesome,and him being a big guy with a huge beard and a really soft voice just makes his character better,and hopefully one day he'll be in the Main Event,because he's the shit.

I'm also liking this. Really bizarre to see a big guy with the agility Knox has, so I'm glad that they finally found something for the guy. I like him working with Finlay, but I am really looking forward to something with The Undertaker. Now that could be awesome.

Mike Knox's gimmick change is well needed for a guy who is a big guy and didn't get over on RAW or SD, and from the first time he mentioned is knowledge or biology and all that i knew....he's gonna have a evil doctor character.

This works for him but for a guy his size having such a soft voice is weird but it works makes him more bad as a Dr. Knox, his agility in the ring is good and his skills in the ring make him a good brawler. So now finally SD has given him a gimmick and a feud it would do Finlay good and any other star a chance to feud with him.

I like the way they're going with this. Far too often, they find someone who looks tough and just lump him into "monster heel" because they can't think of anything better, but with Knox, in a way, he doesn't fit that. Is he big? Yeah. Is he strong? I wouldn't doubt it. But Knox doesn't have that sort of awe-inspiring appearance to him. Khali, Big Show, Mark Henry...these guys are HUGE. Knox is huge in comparison to a normal person, but he's not on their level. Having Knox's character be more along the lines of a big, tough, brawling type of guy who actually knows what he's doing and has the strength to do it makes perfect sense to me.

Do I think it will lead him to a championship? Probably not. But its definitely an upgrade in my opinion, and it'll help him stand out (as if the beard didn't help that cause in the first place). Sometimes, those two things are all you need to switch your career from a stagnant nowhere route to something better. Who knows...maybe within the next year, Knox will have tag team gold with someone?

I'm all in for Mike Knox. The guy has everything a midcard heel needs. The look, the gimmick, the feud. He just needs the damn heat. I dont understand why people wont boo this guy, sure he gets some heat but thats not enough. This guy needs to get boo'd out of the fucking building. His persona has evolved perfectly and now they need to get him over. I suggest him beating the shit out of Hornswoggle to get it the cheap way. Or he could make some crazy promos with the crowd and demolish fan favorites. Smackdown needs heels. And this guy can be the next upper midcard heel. Only time will tell where Knox is going to end up.
