Dark Match Winner
I just returned from the Impact Tapings in Orlando. I had to share this tragedy with you. I am not sure who thought this parody up but, it was pathetic. I encourage TNA to make new characters on their own but, this proves that they have no creativity to do so. It was a total slap in the face to the fans of Chris Daniels and Mesias.
The first match of the night in Orlando featured Sonjay Dutt against Micheal Judas. I was told this was a dark match. Judas Mesias's entrance music was playing. A Chris Daniels, Fallen Angel, wanna-be stood at the top of the ramp. He was covered with a dark hooded robe covering his face. My first reaction was - why is Chris Daniels coming out to Judas Mesias's music? Requiem for a Dream was playing for Daniels? You could see this guy's goatee from under his hooded robe. Some people actually thought this jobber was Kevin Thorne but, he was way too small of a build to be Thorne. He had on a little white face paint in a poor attempt to make him appear goth with dark make-up around his eyes. He had short black spiked hair. He had on a priest's collar under his robe with some type of cross on his pants. All he was missing was a midget version of Father James Mitchell to complete the spoof! By the way, Micheal Judas didn't spit any blood - so it is obvious that he swallows.
Anyhow, Micheal Judas pretended to be Mesias with a touch of Chris Daniel's Fallen Angel added in. He did the bow that Mesias does to the camera. It was pathetic. I immediately booed this dork and pathetic parody. I know that is probably the reaction that TNA wanted. Many other people joined in on booing. Sonjay Dutt went over with the crowd in this match so, this jerk sold Sonjay. Sonjay should buy him a steak dinner at the Ale House after the show for the props. Anyhow, this guy was super sloppy in the ring. I tried to tell myself to give him a chance since it was his first match however, he was sloppy in his execution of Mesias and Daniel's moves. It was sad. I am a huge fan of Judas Mesias / El Mesias / Ricky Banderas and have been so for several years. I am also a fan of Chris Daniels as both the Fallen Angel and Curryman. I feel this parody was a kick in the groin to both talented wrestlers and their fans. I hope this dork isn't shown on Impact or any other shows. If you are going to parody talented wrestlers in the future, please use someone who has wrestling skills and can play the part.
I have not attended an Impact taping since Mesias was not given a contract. I decided that the card looked good and that I would give TNA another try. I am sorry that I did that. I will not waste my time going back to the Impact Zone for tomorrow's tapings after seeing this debacle. If this was another lame attempt at comedy by TNA, it did not work. The dollar store version of Judas Mesias was 99.9 cents short of a sale.

If what ur saying is true then TNA is dying a slow painful death. Which i hate since I was a WCW fan until the day they were bought out buy Vince n WWE. I would love nothing more that a new war between the 2 top wrestling companys. Anyway im a casual TNA fan. I will watch if im home on thursday night. I have been watchin for about 3 years now. The first wrestler I connected with was The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Maybe that because i like the darker side of things. Like the CROW as my fav. movie. Maybe not. The bottom line is TNA screwed up when the didnt push Daniels as they did with AJ. (i know AJ isnt where he once was but he still got pushed more than Daniels). They ruined his program with the ICON Sting. Curry Man is a slap in the face of Daniels. The only reason i can deal with it is because i know its Daniels in a mask. This new Micheal Judas/ Mesias Fallen Angel parody is just another slap in the face of Daniels.

Black Machismo, Valizabeth, Stone Cold Shark Boy..... tna has proven they can't come up with very good gimmicks on they're own. Sure they find a few that work like Mesias but for the most part they suck. I sure hope they don't put this guy during the regular impact shows (not that it matters because I haven't even watched tna since Mesias had his last match with Rhyno.) because that would be a waste if he is as bad as you made him out to be. But coming out to Mesias' music? I know James Mitchell said Mesias would be back and if they are making this guy out be his replacmement then I feel sorry for Mitchell.

Father James Mitchell did not escort Micheal Judas to the ring. I have heard internet radio interviews with James Mitchell stating that Mesias would be back. I am hoping this is not the Judas that he was referring to. I think if that is the case, Mitchell was duped by TNA along with us. I couldn't see him promoting someone with no wrestling skills. In my opinion, he values his fans too much and is known as a straight shooter in the business. I could not see him promoting a parody of a wrestler that he put time, energy and effort into.
I am not exaggerating a bit. This dude could not wrestle a lick. He was lost in the ring and stumbled and fumbled to the point that Sonjay couldn't help make him look good. All that match did was put Sonjay over with the crowd in the studio and show how tasteless the non-creative dept in TNA really is.
I was pissed hearing Mesias's music play to a jobber. I thought about how this jobber could have been selling Mesias's return - like maybe somewhere in the match that the real Mesias would come out and smash the guy for imitating him or gimmick infringement. However, since this guy was sloppy and had no skills in the ring plus jobbed to Sonjay - this was not the case. He was not there to promote Mesias or Fallen Angel. He was there to bury them.
As for Chris Daniels, he has put a ton of time and effort into the Fallen Angel character and didn't deserve this treatment from TNA. The guy did a Fallen Angel hand movement and a few attempts to do Fallen Angel style moves on Sonjay. He had on the hooded robe and priests collar/vest like Chris Daniels wore as the Fallen Angel. He had on long pants with some cross style symbol. It was my luck this crap was pulled off on the one night that I forgot my camera or I would have included pics for you to see for yourself.
There is a difference in paying tribute to a legendary or retired wrestler. It is comparable to hearing a Led Zeppelin or Metallica tribute band play a house show someplace paying homage to legendary performers. That is what I see when I watch Black Machismo or Stone Cold Sharkboy. I see a tribute to a legend and a retired wrestler. They are the houseband playing a tribute to those legends. I accept those characters as a tribute. However, this is different.
This was a parody comparable to something that Weird Al Yankovic or Cledus T. Judd would perform. It is tasteless and tacky to parody an active wrestler on your roster or a current star in another brand by using his mannerisms, entrance music and moves.
I wonder if this is a weird attempt to bury the Fallen Angel gimmick so, Daniels is stuck with Curryman. I hope not. I am a heel fan and like the dark characters too. I hold hope to see Fallen Angel again when the Curryman character begins to fade away in popularity. However, with the name of Micheal Judas and entrance music and lame ass bow to the camera area - it was a bigger kick in the crotch to Mesias. Is this how you attract a wrestler to come back to your company - by making fun of him and offending his fans? If this was meant to be funny, it was not funny at all. It was ridiculous.
The show in general was decent and well executed. However, as a fan of Mesias and Daniels, seeing this as the first match definitely changed the atmosphere of the night for me to a negative one from the start. I agree this is a sign of frustration that the creative department is suffering with a huge case of brain fart! I left the show in Orlando after seeing this parody wondering to myself - what was TNA thinking when they did this? It was not entertaining and not funny. I don't see myself returing to the Impact Zone again in the near future. I hope they have the decency not to do this type of stunt again anytime soon. However, if it is done as a dark match - I won't be there to see it. I just hope this never makes the Impact show and the parody ends here.

i dont think they meant it as a parody i think they think the fans are stupid and will buy it, michael judas is a wrestler from anarchy an indy in georgia the same one creed is from, funny how tna just cant come up with new characters when the lose someone instead of trying to find a replacement i.e. judas messias/michael judas, truth/creed anyone else see a pattern here? i think it insults the fans intelligence but then again whats new?

TNA didn't give him the gimmick. Savio Vega did... And Savio Vega gave him the gimmick BEFORE Mesias appeared on TNA and BEFORE Kevin Thorn debuted on ECW. Plus, Judas has more talent than both those jobbers.

And, Consequences wasn't an attempt to replace Truth Killings. They were a tag team once right before Truth left, and was meant to become a full time gig.

TNA is supposed to be cheesy.... Thats what sets them apart from WWE...

And to be honest thats why I watch... Take it with a grain of salt Brothers it's wrestling

Also your talking about a Dark Match seen by a few hundred people... by some jobber

Have you ever been to a WWE house show they always got some random out of shape jobber wrestling somebody like Kenny Dykstra... it happens

Anyways I'd rather watch Shark Boy... Machismo... Mesias... even Michael Judas...
Than ever watching another Vladamir Koslov Match again

Brother....

Mikal Judas was portraying that character since his time in NWA Wildside. This was a dark match that nobody at home would see. It was to allow TNA to scout this guy as well as give the fans a match and someone for Sonjay to go over. Stop whining, Fallen Angel or Judas Mesias aren't being replaced.

TNA is supposed to be cheesy.... Thats what sets them apart from WWE...

I l you for a fact that if anyone from TNA heard you say that they would be upset about it. TNA is not supposed to be cheesy. They are supposed to be serious wrestling and that's what's supposed to set them apart from WWE. Unfortunately they aren't doing a good job. They have to many "monsters" and outrageous characters. Hopefully they'll move away from that.

As for this "parody" it completely sucks. It sounds like it's just another dark monster character. They really need to focus on what got them attention in the first place, not emulating early 90s WWE.

I have seen many dark matches in the past and house shows. I have been to many indy shows. I know the business well. However, usually the jobber of the night does not come to the ring using an established talent's entrance music. How many times has Koslov in the WWE walked into the ring using John Cena's music and dressed like HHH spitting water? This established indy wrestler should have had his own entrance music or walked out without music. Sorry, but the people in my seating area (within the 1,000 person studio) inside the Impact Zone all thought this was a parody of Daniels and Mesias. It was not well received. I think it was done for shit and giggles by a few in the back to make Mesias's character look bad. It only made TNA look bad to the interested and informed fans in the Impact Zone. The other 75% of the tourists inside the place thought the guy was just some awful wrestler with no talent. I have to add that if this was an audition for this wrestler, he showed no talent in this match. He walked through the match, stumbled and fumbled his moves. At one point, it looked like he almost dropped Sonjay. He was not impressive at all in this match. If he has talent, it didn't show in this match at all. I would have bet $50 in my wallet that this was the first time that this guy had been in a ring before. I would have lost my money but, that is how he came off in that match. I would have thought he was some guy from a local wrestling school that was given the opportunity to be on TNA to parody Judas Mesias and make Sonjay look good. After finding out from this post about Mikael Judas, I went and googled him. I looked at his My Space account and a few articles online. I was surprised to see that he was an established wrestler with experience in the ring. I was equally surprised to find that he has experience in parodies within the business. He recently appeared on Monday night RAW on WWE. When Mr. Kennedy called out the fake Marty Jannetty, Razor Ramon and Diesel to the ring to belittle them - Mikael Judas was the fake Diesel aka Kevin Nash. It seems that being in parodies seems to work well with Mikeal Judas. He has no problem with poking fun at other wrestlers. His stint in WWE proves this. If TNA wants the fans to see the Fallen Angel, bring back Chris Daniels in that role. If TNA wants the fans to see Judas Mesias, bring back Ricky Banderas in that role. Don't try to sell 100 or 1,500 fans short on some parody of those characters. It is cheap and insulting. I don't buy generic products when I shop anyplace else so, why should I settle for generic entertainment after waiting in line for over an hour to see TNA? TNA is not supposed to be cheesy or second rate. It began as a serious wrestling business and somehow has lost its way. It is getting to the point of being ridiculous. I know it is just wrestling and scripted. However, TNA is a growing business that needs feedback from the fans to make the right choices to continue with positive growth. I am sorry but what I saw was a parody of an established wrestler who TNA claims to be re-signing. It was not funny or appreciated by the fans. Maybe in the future, they should consider have closed auditions or have the jobber of the month bring his own entrance music to the arena. Maybe they should find talent that doesn't resemble current wrestlers (like Chris Daniels) to the point that it seems like gimmick infringement. I don't blame Mikael Judas for what happened in the Impact Zone. He was just doing the job that he was booked for and collecting a paycheck. He didn't wrestle well in the show and I can't tell you if he was told to go out there and mess up or why that happened. He just looked really crappy in the ring. I blame TNA's creative and booking teams for what happened in that ring. Shame on them! They not only disgraced Judas Mesias and Chris Daniels but did Mikael Judas an injustice too. They did not make him look good at all. He was the stooge in their little joke for the night. Someone who has his alleged talent should have insisted on something better than what he received in that dark match. He should have known better than to use another wrestler's entrance music who has a similar gimmick. Sorry, but this dark match was a parody and nothing more. It was a kick in the groin to Mesias, Daniels and their fans. Whether Judas has had this look before the Fallen Angel and Mesias is not an issue. They are the established wrestlers in this company and should get respect from the creative dept and bookers within TNA. This should have never happened whether televised or not.

I think you are jumping he gun here. I mean I could see if this was on the taping and was a midcard match, then yeah, you could be a LITTLE miffed. And do notice that I emphasized the word "LITTLE".

The fact of the matter is this. While TNA prolly would go ahead and parody Judas Messias, they would NOT parody The Fallen Angel. If anything, the wrestler would be used to keep their names fresh and then bring them back as a team to destroy him. Now would you mark out for that one? Of course you would, as dramatically as you making this ONE dark match out to be. So just sit back and stop watching with so much emotion. Let yourself enjoy wrestling for once or just stop watching it. It's not always gonna be good, but hell, it's still good to watch.

Update on Mikal Judas:

According to my sources, Mikal Judas was brought in for a tryout match. The idea was that he had an intimidating look that would get him over as a monster. If he did well he would be put up against Abyss, who looks to be returning soon. The music he used wasn't Judas Mesias' but rather James Mitchell's, who would be managing Judas.

Judas' look was a play on the words Judas Priest, which is why he had the priest collar. You may have noticed that Fallen Angel hadn't used the priest collar in years, which I why TNA felt that wouldn't be a shot at him.

TNA officials weren't impressed by Judas' tryout so don't expect to see him in TNA anytime soon. Another name going around to battle Abyss is Hannibal, who faced the monster on a house show earlier this year.
